    Entirely skippable

    by

A slow moving piece without a clever ending. You might go if you're a huge fan of Tom Cruise, otherwise I'd recommend skipping. The one thing I liked was some of the sound direction, it has some cool audio effects.

Best movie in a long time

    by kzanika

I loved this film, I saw it twice in less than 5 days. The first time was at a regular theater then a few days later at an iMax theater.
Wow, the iMAX experience for this film was amazing. Acting was just great, everything and everyone did everything right. The visual effects were stunning.
I highly recommend this movie to anyone that enjoys Sci-Fi and great acting.
Tom Cruise you were awesome in this movie. I am going to own this film on Blu-Ray for sure and watch many more times.

    Very slow

This isn't a action movie, if you go for that you will fall asleep. You have to love Tom Cruise to see this movie because he is in almost every shot.

    2013 A Space Odyssey

LOVED this movie. I went to watch it based on the time I went to theater, never heard of the movie beforehand. The movie was intriguing with the cinematography, but what really sealed the deal was the build up of the storyline. This movie is truly captivating and worth watching at least TWICE.

    Best feature: Thought-provoking

    Great movie!

Takes a few brain cells to understand, but definitely a good movie!

p.s: Does have a somewhat sad ending so if your looking for a happy, silly movie; this is not what your looking for

Great FX & Music OK Story

    by

If you really like seeing movies that go all out on visuals, this movie is great. The story is a bit cliche sort of a mix of all kinds of Sci-Fi tropes, but it was still fun to watch. I don't take my movies so seriously. The music was great too, some great ambient electronica by M83 and Joseph Trapanese. Tom Cruise was great as always as the cool hero type too.

    Good story. Very creative.

    by mdd770

We liked the movie. The story was good and it was very creative.
It was good in XD. Good effects.
And there was no swearing. Very refreshing for a change.

May be worst than Scary Movie 5

Do not waste your time. The beginning 1 hour and a half could've been shortened to 30 minutes. The action was great but not enough to cover up for the boring past. Tom Cruise is an amazing actor. Don't blame him for this terrible script. Morgan Freeman shows up for a total of 2 minutes the entire movie. Overall, this movie is crap. So many people are giving it a GO or MUST GO! It's because of them they continue making movies that are pure crap.

    Oblivious story

The visuals and special effects are stunning. Sadly they forgot to tell a good story. There is one surprise in the film but even then the lack of connections to the story line make it a yawn moment. I am also starting to tire of Hollywood's apocalyptic obsession with the end of the world as we know it.

    Action Packed Science Fiction Thriller!

Tom Cruise has still got it! From the start to finish...this flick is an e-ticket ride. Finally, Hollywood is making films with a story, action and suspense...as well as a soundtrack that is riveting and majestic! Roger Ebert would have given it "Two Thumbs up" if he were still with us! To say this movie is a "Must see"...is an understatement. The cinematography is Oscar Nomination caliber!

    Good Sci Fi fun

This movie is great. There is plenty of action, the story is interesting, and the ending is intentionally left vague. For those attentive viewers that like to take the time to figure out what is happening, the story is revealing enough for a few theories to be made. But the movie also has enough suspense and action to regale viewers that just want some explosions and gunfights. For those that are squeamish about harsh language, this movie is also good in this department, since I don't recall any F-bombs dropping. So again, this is a great movie to see.

    Slow but good

    by

Was slow in the middle, but it was still a pretty good movie, most everyone in the theater was confused until the last 10 minutes, hang in there it will show itself.

    Oblivion is Outstanding

This movie was actually better than I expected. Twists and turns and the out come was unexpected. Really kept my interest all the way through. Not just a bang bang shoot me upTom Cruise movie. Great plot concept. Would give give it 5 stars.

    Thoughtful plot twists

This is an interesting post-apocalyptic sci fi film that has many unexpected plot twists. While there are enough Tom Cruise action sequences to satisfy the teen crowd, the film actually is at its best in the non-action sequences where the plot of an alien vs. human war on a devastated earth takes many surprising turns. The film can be confusing at times, enough so that non-adults may not be able to follow it at times. The film would have been better if the plot twists were laid out more clearly with better explanation. This keeps the film from being good enough to be a Must Go, but I still think it's worth seeing.

    Obliviously, a good movie

Great twist at the end despite slow start at the beginning! When people say the movie was "weird" it may mean they took a restroom break and didn't make the connection. Lots of action, some romance and Tom looked great!
