Lots of Plot Holes, but Still Fun and Pretty
Well it seems like these Marvel superhero movies are now just attempting to rake in our money, as evidenced by the anemic setup for the main villain's motivation (all described in the first 30 seconds via voiceover, with no development throughout the rest of the movie), and by the dozens of plot holes. The visuals, however, keep you entertained through the impressive scenery and weapons and toys, and the "side" characters actually give enough weight to the plot to make the whole thing rather enjoyable! Loki obviously steals the show yet again, but this time around we see surprisingly substantial parts from Heimdall and Darcy and Erik and from a few other new characters as well, which come along with some great dialogue and some witty one-liners that made the audience generally laugh out loud.
In brief, although the overarching plot has very large holes, the writing of the characters and their dialogue, combined with the stunning visuals, make it a very entertaining two hours.
