Ugh
by
I really wanted to like this movie, really. After each terrible presentation by the directors I prayed that it would get better, but alas, to no avail.
Cage gives a somewhat predictable performance toward the low end of his spectrum, playing a bit too close to the "lunatic" but with no continuity. The film has a great basic premise, and the storyline could have been made to work, but the Directors' vision was dirty and gritty. None of the message of "Honor despite (bad) previous choices" exists.
The actors, whilst either not familiar or years past the prime of their careers, seem to each be working on a different project, there is very little or no cohesion between the characters. Even the bike, which starts its normal life as a V-Max, has very few embellishments when possessed by The Rider. A few flames and an overkill on the smoke just doesn't live up to the first movie's attention to detail or cool factor.
Wait for Redbox! Don't let this rider steal your money and soul.
