    Ugh

    by

I really wanted to like this movie, really. After each terrible presentation by the directors I prayed that it would get better, but alas, to no avail.

Cage gives a somewhat predictable performance toward the low end of his spectrum, playing a bit too close to the "lunatic" but with no continuity. The film has a great basic premise, and the storyline could have been made to work, but the Directors' vision was dirty and gritty. None of the message of "Honor despite (bad) previous choices" exists.

The actors, whilst either not familiar or years past the prime of their careers, seem to each be working on a different project, there is very little or no cohesion between the characters. Even the bike, which starts its normal life as a V-Max, has very few embellishments when possessed by The Rider. A few flames and an overkill on the smoke just doesn't live up to the first movie's attention to detail or cool factor.

Wait for Redbox! Don't let this rider steal your money and soul.

    Ghost Rider:Spirit of Vengeance 3D

Not Good. I thought is was on the boring side in fact I even had a tendency to doze off a little while watching it. Sometimes movies are better off not having a sequal to them and this was one of them. The first Ghost Rider was great, not this one. Would not recommend seeing this at all. I don't even think that the 3D even helped its overall rating. It seemed to drag on and seemed like it was too long of a movie.

ghost rider spirit of vengence 3d

The special effects were very good, but the movie over all was a disapointment for me, I found myself board and waiting for the movie to end.

    Ghost Rider

I thought it was fun and true to the Ghost Rider story. If this is what you love-then def go see it. We took our grandson and he loved it. The special effects were great.

    Definitely Must Go

If action/adventure movies are what gets you in the theater then you need to see this. I don't understand why the critics trash good movies and even the fan reviews aren't so good here. I wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews but it's a great movie! If you liked the first one then you'll definitely like this!

    Good Film

    by tzoi516

I liked the first in the series, but I think "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D" was a lot better. However, the 3D seemed like it was done post production. The good thing is it didn't detract from the movie.

    Low quality

    by gigg101

Have to say I was sorely disappointed in the acting, in the story line and once again they drop the F-bomb in a PG-13 movie. Even hair and make-up was inconsistent from scene to scene (very poorly done - Nicolas Cage looked awful in 3/4 of the film) and the directing was awkward at best. This movie had tremendous potential and amazing location for the setting, but it fell far short of its possibilities. Very sad since there were some very talented folks in this film - just shows how sloppy directing can make the good ones look like high school drama students. Many scenes overacted and camera shots lingering too long on folks' exaggerated expressions, but the action shots were all over the place and too chaotic to be able to appreciate the stunts, effects, etc. If it weren't for the fact that my son was enjoying this movie, I would have rated this lower and probably would have walked out.

    Everything it should be

First things first, this movie has some of the best laughs in a long time. Some would say it's not meant to make you laugh, I say differently. Ghost Rider is not, nor has he ever been a "cool" character. There isn't a single "cool" Ghost Rider comic or story line. He's a "B-rated" character at best who has a following only because he looks cool. And this movie unapologetically showcases what makes Ghost Rider great, cheese. Lots of cheese, and Twinkies. Is the writing great? Nope. Is the story amazing? Nope. Are the visuals stunning. Yes. Does it feel like a comic book movie. Hell yes. And that's all Ghost Rider is and has been since his first appearance in the comics. A cool looking, poorly written, cheese fest. So don't go into this thinking it's the next Iron Man, or Avengers. Go in knowing you will see a comic book movie with people bursting into flames, giant machines bursting into flames, a flaming skull lovingly looking to the eyes of some "bad guy" and Twinkies.

    3D - What 3D

First of all this is the WORST Worst worst... 3D movie in the history of 3D movies. If there was 3D then it was off the side of the screen and not coming at the audience at all. There was more 3D in the promo for Real3D that precedes the movie. Having said that, lets move on. I like Nicholas Gage and think that he's a pretty good actor, but maybe he's been doing action movies too long or maybe the direction of this movie just SUCKED but overall the movie was more laughable then anything else. This movie had more comic relief in it than an Arnold Schwartzenegger action move ever did and those had a lot. At one point I thought I was watching a comedy, not a movie based on a comic book. Plus where was the story, the plot, the part that makes a movie a movie. This movie had slightly more plot than Skyline but not much. Well as far as bowl swirlers go this movie is so far the best bowl swirler I've seen this year. Bowl swirler - the thing you flush.

It was a fantastic movie! I recommend it to everyone! I think the 2D might have been better but overall it was a really good movie and the graphics were amazing!

JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST IF NOT BETTER!

Only Cage could of pulled this movie off and he did it convincingly! He is a one of a kind actor and made the character even better. The movie was a darker side then the first and didnt place that much enphasis on big hollywood majic. It stayed true to the character and made it more believable plus only cage can act crazy while changing into the rider! I love his faces. The 3d part was OK and the movie was great so take it from me its not a wast of time and I am getting it when it comes out on DVD to add to my collection.

Ghost Rider: SoV - not all that bad

I wasn't looking to see an Academy Award winning movie - let's be real people, this is a sci-fi action adventure, not a frikkin' art film. I thought it delivered where it counted - plenty of action, just enough plot, and finally - no long, drawn out "origin" story. If you like a good action film, this one should please.

Not a sequel. More like a darker relaunch.

This was WAY different from the first. Even the main background plot changed. I no longer felt like I was watching a "hero" but felt like I was watching 2 demons fight. The screenplay was often confusing and excluded character info that could have helped the average Joe understand things if he hadn't read the comics. I understand that this was an attempt to bring the movies closer to the comic books, so maybe it won't be bad if you are a die hard Marvel fan. If you are expecting a sequel though, save your money.
