    Great Story!

Scott did it again. Great story line that demonstrates genius creativity and special effects made the move an experience in and of itself. Went to see it at 12:01am with my son who just graduated from high school. We both thought it was well worth the money and devoid of the usual predictability of poorly written scripts. Worth the money and the time.

    not a great prequel

As a stand alone movie, it wouldn't have been too bad, but as a prequel to one of the best sci-fi/horror movies of all time, it was awful. Lots of questions lots for huge plot holes. ***spoilers*** Why did the android want to infect the human? did the engineers create the aliens? who were they and what did they want? How did our DNA match the aliens? Did they creat all life on earth, or just human life? But they came back, which is why all the cave paintings showed them. Did they want us to follow? In the Alien movie, the face huggers laid their egg in you, but in this movie the face hugger (the size of a mega octosaurus) was conceived by the humans and was born into a fully grown alien in the engineer. And why did the Charlize's character not turn left or right when the ship was falling straight down? bahh, more time should been spent on the script and less ln chep 3d tricks

    Great Disappointment!

    by

This movie had the potential to be very good, however it stole so many scenes from other sci-fi movies it failed to establish its own identity. The story line was unclear, the actors did the best they could with the poor story line, and aliens. Too much going on at the same time, no clear villian, it did not make sense. Horrible movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mr. Scott Goes to Washington

Cutting edge visual effects (of course), promising storyline, and ...hmm- that's about it. If you've never seen Alien, you might like this movie; but if you've never seen Alien, you're not really into the genre. If you are, be prepared to witness self plagiarism, Ms Theron being embarrassed by bad casting (though the protagonist and the 'robot' are impressive), a storyline that utterly falls apart, and the threat of a sequel. Mr. Scott attempts to prequel the Alien series, and somewhat like Alien 3, starts off really well. One must ask, with such a good idea and so much money, what went wrong? It's as if the director has entered the ranks of Congress and become a half-*** has been. However, if one were to go thinking it was a parody, it might be worth the price of a ticket.

5 Words: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! MANN!!!!

This movie was Horrible!!! The only movie Ive seen that moves slower than this is "The American" with George Clooney. They Both SUCK! The story was HORRIBLE, the actors had no Chemistry, Idis Elba's worst performance of his career, Charleen was not Sexy at all. It was PURE STUPID! This movie is a PRIME example of how Hollywood creates a movie trailer that promise's an exciting mind blowing movie and then delivers a DUD! The only good thing was the visual effects were very, very creative and awesome, but the movie SUCKED!!!

    Prometheus

    by 4/25/47

Pretty good. It was entertaining pretty much to the end but dragged a bit in the very end. I guess it was trying to tie up loose ends to "Alien?" I never saw "Alien". The person I saw Prometheus with said that you would have understood it better having seen Alien.

Tighter editing could have helped. At over two hours, it was a bit too long. Cinematography was quite good.

    Prometheus

This movie was amazing. It had a lot of great acting, maybe better said as believable. Yes I realize believable is a stretch for this movie. I took my 17 year old son, and we both really enjoyed it. THE ALIEN references made an awesome movie just a little less awesome. The camera work was fantastic, and the special effects were very well done. Acted, directed, and well produced. Being a hard task master I would give it a A-

    Bad,bad,bad

As the title states, this movie was bad. Horrible, not good, confusing, poorly written and just bad. Nothing was explained or fleshed out. The ending was terrible, the beginning was terrible and the middle was terrible. How a movie could be both predictable and confusing all at once is beyond me.

Murky, but not in a good way

I wanted to love this movie, but really found it a bit slow and hard to get into. Having seen it I can tell you who the main character was and what the point was, but half way through I could not identify these things. More than a little disappointed.

    Total Action and some answers

This movie rocked! There are some pretty graphic scenes that make you cringe and the "scare" parts are pretty predictable with the music leading you into it. The cinematography is amazing looks like they shot it in Ireland/Scotland. DO not bring your young children to this movie way to intense.

    Meh

Particularly later in the movie I began to get the feeling I heard other people had had. You know the movie is about to end but you don't really feel like anything has really happened, merely a bunch of scenes which don't really matter (particularly if you've seen the rest of the Alien, and or Predator movies, you know nothing here is that important). It almost seems like the climax is happening after the movie ends.

    Disappointing

    by JimJabu

As a follow up and supposed prequel to the 1979 classic "Alien" this film is a BIG disappointment. Despite excellent photography there are none of the innovative plot points that we found in the original. Some of the acting is pretty bad (Theron and Pearce particularly) and the story has so many holes you could fly a spaceship through it.

    Not a great story

    by

The movies jumps from discovery of aliens to the alien planet, with poor character development and misses a chance to tell a better story. The opening special effects were outstanding and continue through out the movie. But at the end of the movie, I left disappointed.
