Mr. Scott Goes to Washington
Cutting edge visual effects (of course), promising storyline, and ...hmm- that's about it. If you've never seen Alien, you might like this movie; but if you've never seen Alien, you're not really into the genre. If you are, be prepared to witness self plagiarism, Ms Theron being embarrassed by bad casting (though the protagonist and the 'robot' are impressive), a storyline that utterly falls apart, and the threat of a sequel. Mr. Scott attempts to prequel the Alien series, and somewhat like Alien 3, starts off really well. One must ask, with such a good idea and so much money, what went wrong? It's as if the director has entered the ranks of Congress and become a half-*** has been. However, if one were to go thinking it was a parody, it might be worth the price of a ticket.
