As Good as a Book Adaptation can Be
Catching Fire has gotten rave reviews and I'm no different, however, I think people have been overly harsh on Gary Ross' Hunger Games when comparing it to Catching Fire. Ross was working with a very limited budget and did a phenomenal job as well. Let's face it, you cannot develop characters as well in a movie as a book. Having said that I loved the movie. The casting was perfect, and for the record, I love Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, he is so believable and is an awesome actor! The new cast is right on as well!! Beetee is perfect and I love Jena Malone as JoHanna! She is hilarious! I do feel that they kept everything that was important and significant to the story in the movie and added some good parts. The movie stays pretty much from Katniss' perspective but what they added with Snow and Heavensbee really helps with the story. The only scene not in there that should have, was when Katniss and Peeta skip training and spend the day on the roof bc she really starts to love him.
