    Wunder-less Stone.

Withour Alan Arkin, this movie would have been a bust. Jim Carrey was absolutely pitiful and sado-masochistic in his role...nothing funny there. Steve Carell was amusing as well as Buscemi, but the movie grew tiresome, although there were a few genuine moments of pleasure when Carell was entertaining young children at a birthday party, and the opening sequence was promising...Overall, I give the movie **1/2 stars only because of Arkin and his comedic presence and lifting up a dreary script.

    Total waste of talent

    by Muro128

This movie had great stars and it wasted so much talent. I cannot say any one moment was really worth remembering. The dialog was not funny. I'm a fan of all the star... what a let down. The last skit that Jim Carey did seemed twisted sick along with his brain rapist title. The only magic to this movie was it made the fun go away.

    Not so Incredible

Steve Buscemi was a dud as Wonderstons partner.Thank god they had Jim Carry and James Gandoifini to save the movie. The theater was quite thru most of the movie but did have its moments.

About what I expected, which wasn't much

I'm not a Steve Carell fan, and this movie did nothing to make me feel otherwise. It was a tired and depressing story, and that led to an implausible ending. Jim Carrey and Olivia Wilde (formerly in the House series) had decent performances, but they couldn't make up for a bad plot and two unconvincing lead actors (Carell and Buscemi). Save your money for a movie that instead will star Carrey and Wilde.

    The Mediocre Burt Wonderzzzzz...

I love Steve Buscemi. I adore Steve Carrell. I really like Olivia Wilde & Jim Carey. I loathed this movie. If The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was a burger, it would have been inedible. I would have gotten food poisoning & could have vomited the rancid meal. Unfortunately, I cannot purge the hour and a half of crap from my memory. I almost fell asleep. I wasted a good Sunday night and a good $35. My only solace is that one of you will read this and heed my humble review. Stay away, dear reader. If you like a good story line, sharp writing, or a funny comedy, do not see this movie. And if you must, because you're an 18 year old boy, please wait until you can rent it from netflix or red box. It is definitely not worth more than $1. Why didn't I walk out? Because the first 5 minutes was good. And i was hoping, wishing, & praying it would improve. Alas, it did not.

    Bee Aye Dee

This movie was not funny. This movie was predictable. This movie had no script. This movie took the easy way out each time. It was BAD.

    Disappointed

    by jungle

I like Steve Carell in general so was really looking forward to this fim. As it began I kept waiting for the funny parts to happen. I waited and waited. I even waited some more. There were a couple parts that got a chuckle but, overall, it was a dud. The writing was poor. There just seemed to be very little for him to be funny about. There were a few teenage girls that laughed a few times in the theater but I think they were laughing about something else. Swing and a miss.

    Very entertaining

I and my children really liked this movie. Magic being our family legacy, and having known so many magicians for so many years, this movie was a bit closer to our hearts than, I would think, most people. I think they did a great job portraying the older generation of magicians, the glitzy Vegas magician (who have forgotten the awe of magic), and the Chris Angel character. Of course it was a parody, but very well done. I recommend seeing it - especially to all my magician friends!

    Argggghhh...Intensely Un-Magical.

This film had promise. With a serious A-list cast, an obviously excessive production budget and the promise of magic in the city of trash glamour, they really should have done better, much better. Parts of this film are about as unfunny as film comedy gets without flying produce directed at the screen. The fact is, it seems like the cast got together for two days for the shoot and were reading it for the first time. It's a bad movie but not a terrible one. You'd probably want to wait for the DVD or stream because it's not worth the price of a matinee ticket. Skip this one. You'll be glad you did.

    Beyond Bad

Cannot figure out why this cast even showed up for work. One of the worst movies of the year. Even their make up was botched. What the heck happened ?
