    Singing In The Rain

There's a reason that this was and is a classic - clever story, stellar acting, memorable songs, and dancing that's mesmerizing. And, don't forget the humor - what's a good movie without some humor.

    Couldn't stopl smiling

I loved and adored this movie as a kid, but watching it on the big screen was like a dream come true. This movie has amazing songs and beyond incredible dance sequences. It's funny, and gives great insight on how the movie industry dealt with the emergence of talking pictures. This is the old glamorous Hollywood my generation has only heard of, but never truly experienced.

    Singin in the Rain

Excellent movie!!!! Loved it. My cousin and I took all of our granddaughters and they loved it! Their ages were from 6 - 21!!!! I wish TCM and Fandango would air more musicals on the big screen. Would love to see The Bank Wagon with Fred Astaire.

Singin' in the Rain 60th Anniversary Event Encore

Excellent film choice by TCM and loved seeing it on the big screen with (hopefully) all scenes intact. Would love to see other classics like THE RED SHOES, THE HORN BLOWS AT MIDNIGHT (yes, I'm a Jack Benny fan), SUMMER STOCK and - oh yes, 1933's ALICE IN WONDERLAND (screenplay by Joseph Mankiewicz), among others!

    Singin in the rain

The movie is a great classic. The presentation in narrow mode on the wide screen made the characters look squeezed sideways and stretched up and down.

    Singin' In The Rain

I loved seeing this movie on the big screen. I've seen it many times on TV, but there is no comparison. The songs and dances by Gene Kelly & Donald O'Connor were fantastic. What a great movie!!! It was a feel good experience.

    What an incredible entertainment experience!

I brought my kids (ages 8 & 10), wife & parents to the "Singin' In The Rain" 60th anniversary showing in Times Square, NYC. It was one of the most incredible entertainment experiences I can recall. The film itself was spectacularly remastered. All ages loved it equally. The sold out crowd literally clapped for the performances after each number! Bravo!!

Still Great After 60 years !!

Sixty years have passed since "Singing in the Rain" had its premier showing in 1952. You would never know it by the reaction of the crowd of classic film lovers who watched "Singing" one more time last night. The picture and sound were outstanding. The large scale dance numbers were spectacular ! The recreation of the early days of sound movies were realistic and interesting. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, and Donald O'Connor were perfectly cast in this musical film. Jean Hagen could not be better as Lina Lamont. After all these years I can still repeat her line, "I can't stand him" in that squeaky voice of hers
Robert Osborne's introduction and his interviews with Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly's widow and Donald O'Connor added some insight and perspective to the film.

I want to thank Fathom for this presentation. This is the 3rd classic film I have seen from Fathom. I can't wait to see other films in the future.

Singin' In the Rain a BIG WINNER

My 2 kids ages 8 & 5, my wife & I all LOVED seeing this classic on the big screen! What a wonderful idea. Please continue this program.

I'd also like to add that before the movie started, rather than the usual onslaught of commercials to which we've all become sadly accustomed, the theater played instrumental music. What a treat - we could actually chat...

    THANK YOU

    Singin in the Rain

The is a timeless classic Hollywood musical for all ages. My first experience was in 1952 at the Palace Theater in Youngstown, Ohio. I was 7 years old. My mother was a movie fan and loved musicals and just the theater experience.

Gene Kelly truly fills the role as a Hollywood Star. He is the triple threat, he can sing, dance and act. He and Donald O'Connor's dance routines were some of the best I have ever seen. I have never tired of the movie, dancing, or the amazing music. I have been humming all day.

If you have never seen a good musical, this is the one to start with. It is innocently sweet, top taping and funny. Everything you could want in a movie.

Uplifting and a sneak peek at old Hollywood. A must see!!!!

Today I am "Singin in the Rain"...

    SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

    by freyda1

What a joy to see this favorite movie on the big screen! It was a spectacular evening on every level. The quality of the print, the movie itself (I know every word, every dance step and every song), and yet it was fresh and new, and I saw things you miss on the small screen. It was especially wonderful to enjoy an old movie with others who love it. People applauded after the musical numbers! I especially enjoyed the supporting cast--the guy playing the director, the two speech teachers, and young Rita Moreno, possibly doing her first movie. And watching Gene Kelly leap and hoof all over the screen was especially wonderful. Vive the big screen!

One of the best musicals of all time

Thanks to TCM for brining back the classics to theaters. There's nothing like seeing a movie as it was meant to be seen. "Singin' in the Rain" looked beautiful on the big screen, with colors that were vibrant and the dance numbers imposing. This is a musical with a real, live, interesting story, not musical numbers strung together with a miniscule plot. Top-notch dancing, wonderful songs, and a funny romantic story all come together to make a movie worth seeing over and over. Don't miss it!

    Greatest Classic Movie Musical

This is the greatest classic movie musical of all time. Hilariously funny, sharply satirical, deceptively smart. With some of the greatest choreography and dancing talent ever witnessed on the big screen; not to mention genre-defining sequences including Donald o'Connor's "Make 'Em Laugh" and Gene Kelly's titular "Singin' in the Rain" performances.
It is a movie that every person who cares anything about movies must see before they die. Having the opportunity to see it on the big screen through TCM's 60th Anniversary screening was a real treat and I encourage anyone who has the chance to see it in future screenings to take it.
Fandango couldn't have made things easier for me in the purchasing and admission process. I will definitely consider them for ticketing in future special theatrical events.

    Singin' in the Rain

What a real treat to see this classic on the big screen and to not have anything vulgar said or done to spoil the pure pleasure of watching such talent perform. Best theater visit in a long time! Great movie for all ages. Kids may get the performing bug and get them away from some of their non-challenging activities!! It's a definite plus for everyone and loved the interview at the beginning. Thanks for bringing this movie to the Hudson, MA area!
