    Awesome

    by m0rgue

Two great episodes in the world of The Next Generation. So awesome to see this on the big screen with other ST fans and to view the mini-documentary and blooper reel. Great experience.

Watching it digital restored and remastered made it all the much better.

    Sparkling restoration

    by

Star Trek: The Next Generation is a known commodity, here given a technological bath that fits it even for theatre screens. The acting and the stories are mostly well-known. This one was the cliffhanger at the end of Season 3 and the beginning of Season 4, "Best of Both Worlds." The Borg arrives in near space and heads for Earth, capturing Jean-Luc Picard in the process. Including guest star Elizabeth Dennehy, the crew faces one of their ultimate tests. The two episodes have been edited into a seamless whole, punctuated as always by Captain's Log entries. While I might opt simply to buy both Season packages, this release makes one of the Enterprise's greatest adventures available as a satisfying whole. The theatrical experience was well worth the admission cost. Go!

    TOTAL BUST!

This review is for the experience ... NOT for the movie -- (which we never actually saw, and I know would have been awesome!!) After waiting literally MONTHS to see this -- (bought tix from Fandango the day it was announced) -- only 10 mins into the "live event" and the "making of BOBW" pre-show featurette ... the playback ceased to function, and they were NEVER able to get it restarted at our theatre. PACKED HOUSE of fans ... on the upside, the theatre was exceptionally decent and gave us free passes AND a full refund, including parking. Props to the management of the Regal City North 14 on Western Ave in Chicago for such GREAT customer service. Still, it was a helluva disappointment ... I wish they would reschedule. :-(

Best eps, bloopers fun, documentary too much...

I took my son to see 'The Best of Both Worlds' event and we had a good time, overall. Best of Both Worlds eps are the best of STTNG. I wish they had not "spoiled" the feature by showing a 30 min 'making of' documentary first. Too long, too much, took away from the experience. I wish they had shown Feature, Bloopers, then Documentary. Granted, I probably wouldn't have watched whole documentary in that case, but it's my money. The crowd was good. You kind of know you're getting Trekkers at an event like this and they are always good fun. :) All were pretty polite through the documentary tho there was restlessness around us as it dragged on. There was a tech glitch in the middle of the feature that dropped one scene, but it resumed very quickly (only 1 person had time to yell about the cost of the ticket). All in all, glad I went and "assimilated" my son.

    Best of Both Worlds

Best episode ever...the lack of the "cliffhanger" was somewhat disappointing as they edited it to run full length, but it was still great! Can't wait for next season's release!

Awesome for the most part but epic fail on the editing!!!!!

    by

I went to watch this feature for the sole reason of hearing the awesome cliff hanger music after Commander Riker says "Mr. Warf, fire...." at the end of Best of Both Worlds Part 1. And whoever the idiot was that edited this 2 hour feature decided it would be better to splice the two parts together instead of playing them as they should have been depriving me of the cliff hanger music i love so dearly. Other than that it was awesome awesome awesome. They just shat all over me with that hack editing job.

Great job on updating the episode

The effects of updating the show to Blue-Ray quality are outstanding. You can even read more of the features on the faces of the characters, which only add to the story. I probably would have played the episodes first before the commentary, just so there would not be any "spoilers" to those who had not seen the show.

This is a MUST SEE for TNG fans!

What a treat seeing "Best of Both Worlds" on the big screen, with movie theater sound! I haven't watched this episode in a few years, though I've seen it many times since the original airing. But what a great experience to see it in a theater -- if you're a fan of the series, this is a must-see. Make sure to get there on time and to stay afterward, too, for the special features. We had a great time.

A treat for any Star Trek fan!

    by

Much more than just watching The Best of Both Worlds on the big screen. Before the movie was a lengthy video with behind the scenes commentary from the actors, writers, and producers. Then parts 1and 2 of the show. After the two episodes they played outtakes from TNG, many of which were from The Best of Both Worlds.

For an original Star Trek fan, it was a great evening.

    Make it so Number One...

Can I just say WOW and leave it at that? What a FUN experience! I'm a die-hard Next Gen Trekkie and having the chance to see one of, if not THE, best episode(s) in the entire seven-year run of STTNG on the big screen was a dream! It looked fantastic, and the audience had a great time. I hope Fathom Events will do more in the future...I'll be there!!

    So Much Fun

    by

It was pretty fantastic seeing Star Trek: The Next Generation The Best of Both Worlds on the big screen. I had no idea there were going to be interviews before the movie and a blooper reel after. Both were interesting, funny and just entertaining in general. This is the perfect way to do a old school Trek movie for the fans. I could tell that everyone else there enjoyed it as much as I did. And my son had never seen any Borg episodes and he also thought the movie was fun.

Star Trek: Best of both Worlds

One of my favorite 2 part episodes of Next Gen and it was magnificent on the big screen. The event was practically sold out at the Burbank AMC - and it was so much fun to have so many ST fans sharing the experience. The last time Burbank hosted this event, they never were able to get the screen working, so we were very happy they fixed that problem this time.

    THe Best of Both Worlds

How great this was up on the big screen with dolby stereo and all that high tech stuff!! I have watched these 2 episodes countless times on my VHS tape that I painstakingly recorded when they first aired and this was amazing. The theatre was sold out and people showed up in Star Trek attire, I would go again and again.

It was cool seeing Best of Both Worlds on the big screen

Very cool seeing this AWESOME Borg episode on the big screen HOWEVER the screening was NOT in HD nor was the audio surround sound; there was also no added/upgraded special effects. The screening was the same as the original. Saw no difference in video quality....especially since it was noted that the episode was shown in standard definition and not HD. I was disappointed that they screened the standard version and not the HD/surround sound version. The blooper reel was very funny! Still glad I attended.
Also spotted one guy who was 100% in the star trek zone: guy wore a complete star trek uniform (actual pips, communicator, and all) and said "greetings" to everyone he said hello to. He went a little over the top. gotta go subtle when attending star trek events....especialy in a public mall.
