If you like paranomal romance movies.

I enjoyed this movie. A few scenes were a little silly, but overall I like the movie. I liked all the characters, actors and most of the special effects. My 24 year old daughter and I both liked the movies but thought the main characters accent in the beginning of the movie was a little over the top.

    Beautiful Creatures

    by

This movie was a real total disappointment. I read all of the books and this was horrible. If you are going to do a movie based on a book, the least you could do is keep it real to the characters, plot and book itself. We never saw Ethan's father at all, what happened to the Liberian who was Ethan's mother's best friend, what about other characters that were not included in the movie. And the housekeeper/Seer Ama was to young to play her character. In the book she was a really old woman and she was also Ethan's father's Nanny and housekeeper. They left the prom scene out. These people should have kept the movie to to the book because it was not worth seeing at all.

    BEAUTIFUL CREATURES

This was the worst movie I have ever seen made from a book. The people did not fit. The story was ruined. Amma was not the librarian, The death of Macon was not done correctly.
The book of moon's was not found in that way. Lena drove a hearse. Important people were left out.
DID THE PERSON WRITING THE SCRIPT EVEN READ THE BOOK? I DON'T THINK SO. AND CERTAINLY NOT ANY OF THE OTHER BOOK'S. IMPORTANT PEOPLE WERE LEFT OUT.

ALL I CAN SAY IS TRASH.

IF YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK'S, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THE MOVIE, IT IS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

    Horrible book adaptation

This movie was one of the worst book adaptations I have ever seen. The only thing that remained the same were the names of the characters and the movie title. If you loved these books, avoid this movie. I am angry that I wasted my money and time on it!

    Beautiful Creatures

    by suemi24

My husband and i, went to go see Beautiful Creatures on Sunday 2/17/13. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The outcome was not what we had expected. Would differently recommend it to my family and friends. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 8.

    Not true to the book

If you've read Beautiful Creatures expect to be disappointed. My granddaughter and I couldn't believe all the changes made to a book that both of us really enjoyed. If you have never read the book, you would probably like this movie. As a stand alone movie its a definite DVD rental. For those of you who've read the book, Lena and Ethan do not communicate with their minds in the movie, there is no Boo-Radley, Amma is also the keeper of the Caster Library, Lincoln is seldom seen and doesn't have his own band, The dance is mentioned but not portrayed, the showdown with the school board and Link's mom takes place in a church and only Uncle Macon shows up to defend Lena and in the movie this is when Sarafine reveals herself to Macon while in the guise of Link's mom, and in the end Ethan doesn't remember Lena and what happened on her 16th birthday. Disappointing.

In the middle on this one

I kept getting a sense of deja-vu. I even knew the ending; or close enough to it. I did not read this fabulous book mentioned in reviews. The movie was worth my time and money. Will I see it again or rent it? Nah. The special effects were tops. I would have loved seeing the southern version of the Addams Family house more and maybe it should have been a little longer. Thumb's up movie-goers.

    Surprisingly well done

I went into this movie expecting a standard guilty pleasure flick. I didn't give this enough credit. It was well acted and the storyline kept me interested. If you're interested in love stories with a supernatural twist I absolutely suggest it!

    Huge disappointment!!!

    by gg2223

Did the director or anyone involved with making this movie even read the book??? I have never seen such a bad adaptation of a movie , no creative license here, they totally removed all the creativity that the writer of the book created. Completely removed several key characters from the book as well as just about everything that made the book great, more like a frankenstein version of the book they chopped it all up, removed key elements of the story and just jumbled it back together very badly! There were so many great elements of the book where they could have done some amazing special effects and had an amazing movie, instead it turned out like a bad low budget B movie. I feel bad for the writer of the books, they totally butchered her work of art and her vision.
Read the book, DON'T waste your time on the movie!

    Where's the Book?

I have never been so disappointed in a movie. It strayed so far off the book, I was almost wondering if it was the same series. They left out main Characters & key points that were extremely important to the series of books. Even The mind reading bond between Ethan & Lena was gone....and where did that ending come from??? Very Very Very Sad movie version of the book :(

    Extremely Disappointed

    by Lolovin

When I first saw previews for this movie I said "WOW! it looks awesome! I better read the book before I see it!" I was beyond disappointed to find out that the movie is NOTHING like the book. They changed characters, forgot characters, and flat out CHANGED things that happened in the book. I hope they don't make a sequel.

    Nothing like the book

If you've read the books and are hoping for a movie version of the interesting, funny and heartwarming love story of Ethan and Lena, you will not get it. The movie is so unlike the book that "loosely based" is generous. There are major plot changes, important characters missing, alteration of characters...it's just an entirely different story. On top of it, the casting was terrible. "Emily Asher" and "Link" were the only two characters cast fairly well. And, although Alden E. looks nothing like "Ethan Wate", he was adorable and likeable. Those three characters are the only thing that slightly saved the movie from absolute awfulness.

And the movie itself, even if I had not read the book, was confusing and poorly written. I READ the book and didn't understand the "curse" in the movie (especially because it was so different from the book).

Despite some good actors and a few funny one-liners, do not bother seeing this if you want to see the movie version of the book.

    Good movie but....

I really enjoyed the movie but I hate when someone fakes a Southern Accent! There are many actors with real accents that could play the part and if you have to fake an accent get the region correct. That was a Mississippi accent not a South Carolina accent we too in the South have different accents for different regions.

    It was OK

    by Ammocel

I went to see this movie cause I thought I would enjoy it... I did enjoy it but not as much as I would have thought i would. At heart I knew it was a love story with some witch action. The love story is correct but don't feel natural kinda feels forced. There were some witch magic but very very rare in this film. They made it sound like the evil witch of the movie powerful but she was pretty pathetic at the end when the confrontation came. Overall this movie is so so. If you got nothing else to see then check it out... but wait till it comes out for rental.
