    Great film

As I expected, it was entertaining and worth a trip to the movies. Some films make me think I should have waited for the DVD, but this one didn't.

    Action Packed from Beginning

    by SBritt

Very good storyline - entertaining by Guy Pearce. Not recommended by young children, which I saw many in the movies with their parents - don't understand people.

    Entertaining afternoon!

This is the kind of movie where you do not have to think, but to just sit there and enjoy the action on screen. Do not come into the theatre with expectations, for you will be dissapointed. I knew what to expect, and i surely enjoyed this "guy" movie with action and explosives throughout the film. Guy Pearce (Snow) is wrongly convicted to commit espionage against the U.S, and is offered freedom if he rescues the president's daughter played by Maggie Grace
(Emilie Warnock) from an outer space prison taken over my the inmates on board. Other good performances are seen by Vincent Regan (Alex), Joseph Gilgun (Hydell), Lennie James (Shaw), Peter Stormare (Langral), Jacky Ido (Hock), Tim Plester (Mace), Mark Tankersley (Barnes), and others. If you want to have a good time, and not have to think too much about a movie, go see this! Guy Pearce will deliver the one liners which will leave you laughing, and you also will enjoy the action in outer space. Go see it. The critics are wrong!

    Lockout!!!!

I really liked this movie. The plot was really neat-a prison in space for the worlds worst criminals. I really liked the cast. I thought this was a really great movie. I'm disappointed it didn't do as well as it should have. worth the watch if you like action flicks!

    Really bad!

    by lalaroo

The writing was terrible! Also the physics - it seemed like the writers just thought "outer space" was a foreign country or something, rather than a completely different environment with different rules. The villains were pretty good though.

    Lockout

    by

Your basic B-level sci-fi movie, nothing more. It was watchable, nothing really bad to complain about. Needed to kill some time before bed time and it was the only one starting late enough.

Don't go in expecting Matrix, Inception, Alien (or even Prometheus which will undoubtedly be A-level of the highest order when it opens this summer.).

    Lockout

As far as I was concerned it was another case of a big build up for a SyFi movie that is not good. The main actor was too causual for someone being shot at. The story had too many holes. Would not watch it again.

A realistic hero in a non hyped film

    by seanc2k

Guy Pearce was cool in this movie. It was surprising that they put him in this movie, but he fit the role pretty well, and I think did a good job in playing the part. The special effects in the movie weren't bad, and the damsel was a cool addition to Snow's (Guy Pearce) character. I have to say that the best actor in the film was the nut case brother of the leader of the prison riot. He played his part well, almost too well. The movie itself was cool, and their weren't any parts that dragged or were mundane. Honestly, I liked this movie, but for most, the matinee price would probably be the best way to go. Finally, he was a realistic hero, more like Die Hard, and less like Arnold where he kills like 80 guys without dying. It was a cool movie, nuff said.

    Wanna be Snake Plissken...

    Not Bessons best effort.
Guy Pierce's Snow is a little forced in his constant glibness.

This movie had promise, but the story was underdeveloped, and if they had added say 15 minutes of a taught cat and mouse game on the space station it would have helped immensely.
I think the writer came up with a good idea, but the story has too many unnecessary ill formed characters just sort of standing around.

Maggie grace seems to be making a career out of daughter in trouble roles (Taken, Taken 2, and Lockout). But I suppose it pays the bills.

Wait for DVD/Blu-ray, or don't even bother! Rating F

    by

This movie was a disappointment on so many levels. You will regret the hour and a half of your precious time here on Earth wasted if you watch this movie. No character development, horrible script, corny one-liners, horrible FX/CGI, As I was walking out of the theater I overheard many people saying that it was one of the worst movies they have ever seen. I would have given it a 1/2 out of 10. If you want to see an excellent action flick than go see Raid:Redemption (10/10) or Cabin in the Woods( 9/10) was a great suspense/horror movie.

    Don't Blink You'll Miss Something

    by

Luc Besson fans of Fifth Element will delight in this film. Great detail to characters and
cinematography. There was a great deal of humor from the lead character. Just a top drawer movie with lots of twists and turns. Go see it!

    Ok Film!

The movie was up and down for me it would start to get good then kind of dry out. I thought the acting was great from Pearce thats about it. Adult movie for sure just do to the actions within the prison. The one thing I did love there are some twist.

The movie preview was better than the actual movie!

    by

I was very disappointed with this film. What seemed to be a movie filled with action and suspense mixed with witty one-liners just fizzled until the credits began rolling at the end. The actors are good actors having to work with scripts and screen plays that just did not do the job intended. I was bored not entertained and quickly saw the movie following anticipated courses and outcomes. No surprises. The movie fell short from being an action, science-fiction movie.

    Good action movie

This movie has probably gotten a lot more hard knocks than it deserves. If you take it for what it is -- a basic action move that as I read is a sort of reworking of Escape from New York -- you won't expect too much from it. The acting is actually really good, especially Guy Pearce as well as the two main prison characters.

It is often clumsy on the technical stuff, especially scene transitions that are based on tech points that seem implausible, but that's what I mean about taking the movie for what it is. It is not as far as I can tell intended for the technical stuff to be precise, as The Matrix was because the science (even if made-up) had to be consistent and plausible to make the philosophical point of the Matrix.

If you're looking for an enjoyable action flick, then Lockout is a good choice.

totalfilm_jane Watched Lockout last night. Very much enjoyed Guy Pearce doing cool and sardonic (before Aldrich Killian).

theAndrewLeslie #JustWatched, Lockout (2012). Not a great film but a fun movie that was reminiscent of all those action sci-fi movies from the 80's & 90's.
