Boring....

The movie left a lot to be desired. There was very little background information given in the movie. The acting was amateur at best, the writing lacked enthusiasm and the special effects (or rather lack there of) were terrible. This movie is for teens and adults as it is quite bloody at times, but not overly so. Overall, just not a great movie to watch in the theater.

No Pay Off!

The moviemaker can let the audience scare themselves using thier own imagination...up to a point, but sooner or later, the movie itself has to come thru. These guys decided to let the moviegoers do the entire job, Don't waste your time or money.

Great Movie!

Chernobyl Diaries was a great movie. It's actually scary, unlike the "paranormal activities" line of crap that we've been subjected to as of late. Highly recommend this one!

Mutants!

If you know the history of what this is based off of it adds to the creepiness.

There aren't many truly scary scenes but a couple that really "get" you, surround sound makes a huge difference with those in mind!!!
To me the biggest down fall was never being able to see what was attacking the tourists clearly.

Even though the people over there today may not be mutant killers they are still living with radiation and the after effects of the disaster!

It was okay! Stupid me, didn't remember that it was a zombie movie, haha!!! So.. when you're not too big on zombie movies.. its just okay :)

Do you fear the fallout?

This film follows a group of friends who are vacationing in Europe, and go on a tour of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor and the abandoned city. They think they are alone, but are they really? Is there anything lurking in the forest, the houses, the buildings? Would you go to a city where there was a nuclear fallout? You will have to check out this movie if you want answers to these questions. "Chernobyl Diaries" is set in the city of Prypiat where the workers of the plant once lived, played, and had children. Actors such as Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Olivia Dudley, Nathan Phillips, and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal star in this one. If you want to be scared, maybe go out on a date with a significant other then i suggest this flick. I enjoyed it, and i was by myself. The reviews have been negative but it was an entertaining movie which kept me guessing throughout the 1 and 1/2 hours. It had a neat setting, and good plot to the story. Go see it, it was a fun afternoon spent.

It is a good movie as far as sights, ruins or rather abandoned places are concerned until the end which spoils everything. These tourists are being chased, but you can't tell from what. According to my taste on movies, the writer, Oren Peli, who is also the writer/director for Paranormal Activity, lacks a couple of things.

Waste of Time and Money

Really not a scary movie at all, I actually laughed at most points. This is not the scary edge-of-the-seat, nail-biting experience you think you would be getting. The first 45 minutes was pretty bleak and boring, and once the "scary" scenes started I really wasn't interested anymore. Just really a poor film in the end, and you should just wait and get it in Redbox when it is available.

It was Ok...

There were a few very scary, jump out of your seat parts, but lost steam at the end where I actually found myself laughing a few times. If you could get a cheap ticket, and like horror movies, I would rate it as a B-.

Good Fun Horror Fun

I really enjoyed the unique setting and the cast of unknown actors. The filmmaking was gritty and not over produced which made it more immersive. The last ten mintues should be reworked, otherwise I liked it. Forget about the conspriracy stuff and just make it about a pack of canibal mutants and leave it at that. No one gets out alive.

It was one of the most worst movies I have ever seen. The acting was horrible and the movie was very predictable! This movie was so bad that we walked out!!!!!! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE---you will waste your money!!!

I really liked this movie! If you like movies that make you jump or scream, then go see Chernobyl Diaries. This movie kept me interested and on the edge of my seat. I will be getting myself a copy of it when it comes out on DVD. I love these kind of movies.

I expected a whole lot more from this movie

It had too much of the stupid ****, that you are asking "why the hell are you doing that?" Just like with a lot of the low budget horror movies every time the "freaks" came on screen they moved the camera around that so you couldn't see them clearly. There were a few parts in the movie that may make you jump. overall it is not worth the money to see it in theaters; wait until it comes out on video or Netflix.

Just plain bad

It was suspenseful, but did not deliver. The end was abrupt and did not answer any questions. There was no connection to any person from Chernobyl so it was impossible get the feeling of what it would have been like. I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for my ticket. I rank this movie down there with My Bloody Valentine. Wish I could get my half-priced ticket back.

Solid Foundation, shakey structure

This movie had real promise. The whole way through you were gripped. It felt like a cross between "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and those movies are classics for a reason.

Until the last 30 or so minutes when the male lead is running around like a jackwagon who isn't aware that THERE ARE THINGS OUT THERE TRYING TO EAT YOU. I couldn't stop myself from verbalizing "WHAT ARE YOU DOING MORON" a couple of times.

Is it worth full price? Nope. Is it worth Matinee? If you liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre, sure. But for my buck, I wish I'd stayed at home.
