Extremely entertaining from the beginning. Full of action and humor too. Mark Ruffalo is awesome as Bruce Banner. Loved Downey Jr and Evans scenes together. The HULK is AWESOME!!! We took a 7 year old and she loved it.

    THE AVENGERS

At long last they got it right,Josh Whedon has captured the spirit of The Avengers it was like watching a comic unfold, The acting of the cast was right on no ego's each character was defined from Downey/Iron Man likable cad, Evans "CAP' go to guy Mark has The Hulk showed that inner
anger but humble as Banner, Chis/Thor a true god, Scarlett/Black Widow the impro spy,Jeremy's don't mess with Hawkeye and the bad guy Tom/Loki miss guide god who has gone truly Mad.

Now this film will become the standard for the rest of comic book films to come.

    ComicsOnline LOVES The Avengers!

    by

    by Karissa Barrows, Editor, ComicsOnline.com

If you have not been excited for The Avengers since first hinted at in the Iron Man franchise, you have no soul. Or whatever. Maybe not that extreme, but DUDE. The movie was destined to be either a massively awesome, mind-blowing life experience or the worst 2+ hours of life. As soon as it was announced that Joss Whedon was directing the film, I knew the former would be the case. I went to see the movie after having driven for 16 hours the day prior and still getting up super early that morning, and I was so pumped up afterwards that I was able to stay up for two hours more than normal playing Modern Warfare 3. Seriously. It is that good. I?ll explain why... and try my hardest to be as brief as possible. That's gonna be hard, considering how much I loved this movie.

Second time seeing this movie, so that's all that needs to be said. Story line - great, acting - great, action - sometimes too much, but still great, characters - great.

The best character in this movie, in my opinion, is Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. Acted exactly like you would picture in your mind. Calculated movements, playing with his hands as he walks and talks as if he's nervous about what might come next. Reserved in his thinking, you can tell there's a lot more going on in his head.

...and for Joss Whedon to hold off until well over half way into the movie to "release the hounds" and reveal the Hulk is brilliant. You kept waiting for it to happen and, when it did, it was a treat.

Joss always had vision. I'm happy to see him hit another home run; I look forward to the sequel.

The action mixed in with plenty of laughs from a sarcastic Tony Stark makes this THE must see movie this year. The fastest 2.5 hours of my life. Don't wait for it to hit DVD, go now!

    Unbelieveable!!

We took our two boys and our neighbors two kids and this movie was fantastic. It was really cool to see the multiple main character roles work together so well in one movie. I would highly recommend seeing this movie. There was some very funny scenes that will have you laughing pretty loud in the theater. Looking forward to another movie with this cast.

    Thanks,
    Rich (Delaware)

    Even for non-action movie fans

Went with husband and grandson because they HAD to see it, were looking forward to it for months. Although too long for grandson & I (why is every movie 2 1/2 hrs long now, not including a half hr of trailers, etc.???) I actually enjoyed it. Didn't thihk I would. But the characters and lines were so well written and funny. Especially liked Robert Downey Jr. Genuinely liked the story line, the characters as portrayed, all the actors portraying them and was rooting for all of them and their special talents. It is a movie for just about everyone.

You'll be quoting the whole movie

    by

Joss Whedon has done such an amazing job with the Avengers. I was talking about it for hours after the movie had ended. The dialogue was dynamic and engaging - I found myself mentally bookmarking lines to use later. The acting was stellar and emotionally moving. You might not feel like crying but you'll be laughing, hoping, irritated, frustrated, relieved, and excited. This is the movie that comic book fans, geeks, and nerds flock to see. I plan to see it again very soon!

    Avengers Assemble!

    by nytekit

As awesome as you expected, and then, more so. Every character is amazing, from hero to villian. I've seen it twice in one weekend for this reason.

    Long movie...but worth the wait!!!!

The Avengers did live up to all of the hype that was built up around it. I was curious about how they were going to get all of these dominate characters together but they did it; and did it well.
This was the best Hulk character that I hàseen in years. He really rocked in this film. This is totally a must see for kids of every age!

    Great film!

Joss Whedon's "Avengers" is EVERYTHING a superhero movie should be. The special effects are not gratuitous like in the "Transformers" movies. They merely serve to continue the heavily charcter-based storyline. The comic relief and comedic nods to things from my childhood are well-timed and brilliant. This is simply a well-crafted movie that does not seem as long as it's more than 2 hour running time. Bravo!

    A Balanced Mix

Director Joss Whedon does a fantastic job of using the action as a means for story without letting it take over the film. The action and exposition are very well balanced. Kudos to Joss!

I'd recommend this movie for kids 13 yrs. and up with adult supervision. The action is intense and some of the shots of women in the movie, while not too inappropriate for older audiences, is too provocative for children of young and tender ages.

An amazing accomplishment of motion picture art. This will definitely be a worthy purchase on DVD =)

    Delivers.

Fantastic movie. Great visuals and a good enough story line for this type of movie. Every actor plays their part fantastically. Scarlett is an adequate Black Widow. They could of gone with someone better for that role. However, this is a must see movie if your a fan of any of the individual movies starring these characters.

    Awesome!!!!!!!!

OMG, this movie was greatttt. The story line and action was impeccable. Definitely a must see! At first, I was a little skeptic of the actor playing the Hulk, but he nail it. All the characters were amazing. This movie gets 10 thumbs up.... Definitely a kid friendly movie.

    Oh Man.....

I waited almost a whole month just so that I can try to avoid the big crowds, that was NOT happening!! I ended up having to sit all the way up front since the theater was packed!! But it was totally worth it, its an AMAZING movie!!! It had the perfect balance of comedy, drama and action. Everything was definitely on point. Movie of the year and probably even the decade. It will definitely be hard to top.
