Great for my guy..so so for me

    by

This was a valentines gift for my fiance who has seen this movie like 200 times he swears.. I never saw it..and thought it so so..i slept thru parts..but he truly enjoyed it..the 3 D was pretty good but i think the age of the film did not make for the best you could see in the faces and far shots how it looked old. I was disappointed with the IMAX..where i live in Philly we have a IMAX at our Franklin Institute that the screen is humongous and it surrounds you on the sides that you feel like you are in the picture..the theater i went to in Cherry Hill NJ was not like that..i felt it was just a basic 3D movie where the screen was bit larger to the floor..not the same experience.. All in all ... good job bringing back a classic movie..even if it's A Guy Thing..lol and i was never a big Tom Cruise as far as the looks department...

    Top Gun 3D

Good to see it in IMax, but the 3D protion was weak, i.e. it lacked the "wow" factor I thought it would have.
Brought back memories for me of when it first came out.

This is a MUST SEE movie!!!

    by

I am the first to admit that I LOVE Top Gun! Always have! I could watch it over and over again on TV (I have!!!) and never get sick of it!!! Releasing this movie in IMAX 3D was a great idea! It brought all the actions sequences to life and added so much to the experience! This movie in Blue Ray will definitely be added to my collection at home soon! I would even go back to the theatre to see it again if the opportunity presented itself....well worth the money!!

    TOP GUN

Oh Yeah Baby! I loved the film, then and now. This movie captured the kick a** 80s and I got to see it again with my kids who were born after the original came out. They loved it, I loved it, we had a great time. The 3D was awesome. I don't know what the reviewers are dissing it for but the 3D in the flight scenes was great and the added depth to all the scenes was cool. It's not the kind of 3D that makes you sick though ~ This movie had the sexiest love scene (that I remember) being shown to date back then. Sweet and kinda innocent by comparison to even TV nowadays. Acting was great & we all know it launched a bunch of careers: Cruise, Kilmer, Ryan, McGillis, Rossovick (my hearthrob) framed within established actors like, Tom Skerrit & Anthony Edwards. Director Tony Scott~RIP~ followed his success with TOP GUN with a dozen greats.
Kids OK but there is the love scene & the, ahem, Cruise bun-hugger scene.
We all know the movie ending but it still gets you.

    Remember When?

    by

If you were a teen in the 80s, you probably caught this cult-classic flick on the big screen, and chances are you loved it. Reliving it nearly 30 years later on the big screen in 3D and IMAX is just, well, awesome! The story and acting aren't Oscar-worthy, but it's still a good movie with a decent storyline and great action shots. Action + drama = the perfect date night! Add in 3D glasses, and you might feel you're on a time-machine for 110 minutes.

    Still Amazing!!!

I grew up watching this movie and just saw it in 3D yesterday and it is still AMAZING! There are of course several details which are now out dated and maybe the captions at the beginning which state the movie takes place in present day was a mistake ... the story of friends, classmates, love, mentors/instructors, etc. - all so well written and acted. I love the new romance where the two share short, unformed sentences and awkward moments which is very realistic of a new romance. To the best friends which can complete each other's sentences and call each other family. Loved the movie from beginning to end!

    Great on the big screen!

So much fun to see in a high quality digital format and back on a big screen! Saw it when I was a kid in the theater, wore out the VHS watching it over the years, fun to get to experience the theater sound, one liners, and solid 3D (considering it wasn't shot in 3D).

    Very Poor Redo

Was it $D? I must have blinked and missed it. Expected high quality video, was disappointed. Expected deafening sound, nope.

Awesome on the big screen but 3D was not good

    by

Was great seeing this back on the big screen especially in IMAX. Sounded great but the 3D was not good. Should have come out in regular IMAX.

I Feel The Need For Speed!

Watching Top Gun in 3D at IMAX was an exciting experience after all these years when in came out in the late 80s. This classic film is one of a kind without today's computerized visual effects, when I was sitting in the theater I was captivated by the roaring engines of the F-14 Tomcats flying at the speed of light and it made me wish I were a pilot! The great Tom Cruise will always be remembered as Maverick with his famous Ray-Ban aviators, leather jacket and amazing grin, not to mention his famous catchphrase "I feel the need, the need for speed!" Actors Tom Skerritt, Kelly McGillis and Anthony Edwards were brilliant. The soundtrack is also fantastic

    Top Gun Alway Top Notch

Great to see this movie in IMAX 3D!!! What a way to experience all the action, flight scenes, and to know that Val Kilmer could have gotten his eyebrows trimmed. The IMAX 3D puts you right in the movie, to discover the surroundings like you're there.

This is a classic, defining the 80's, and would have been nice to see a part 2, picking up 25 years later. Who knows it might still happen!!!! Thanks to all that made this happen in IMAX

Still my #2 all-time favorite movie

This movie was just as great as ever. The IMAX 3D made it even more awesome. I saw it when it was first released 25 years ago and I enjoyed it just as much this time. My friend's 11-year old loved it. Highly recommend it.

Awesome movie to watch in 3D IMAX. Much better details throughout the entire movie. If you are a fan of stories about jet fighters, brotherhood, romance, go watch this! It is a must see!

    Awesome / Worth It.

    by

If you have seen it before it doesn't matter its a classic and well worth going to see it in 3d.Only thing that would make it better would be if it was in 4d. I just wish it was there longer then a week so I can see it more times. It was "Mach 2 with our hair on fire" . :o)
