Amazing story of sisterhood
The premise seems typically Disney-- young princess frustrated with the world is about to rebel and stumbles across the perfect man to aid in the rebellion. However, then this movie turns on a dime and takes a new direction. Anna's desire to run away with Prince Hans becomes secondary to her desire to discover what has broken her relationship with her older sister, Elsa.
A friend pointed out to me that there have been animated versions of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen" in the past (which is the source material for this movie), but this is done with that certain Disney magic. Seen in 3-D, the movie envelopes you. Even though the theater wasn't cold, we found ourselves shivering and putting on our jackets! The animation is gorgeous, the songs are contagious and the message behind it-- that an act of true love isn't always what we expect it to be-- makes Frozen an absolute must see for little girls and boys of all ages.
