Applause worthy movie. Evokes passion for my country. Just a well done action movie with a good plot, good acting, and very good directing. Suspenseful, and Dramatic.

This movie was fantastic. I thought that the actor selection was on point. I definitley do not rate this as a movie children should see. From a 60 year plus perpective, it made me realize just how much I love the United States of America.

Awesome!

The only thing I could have done without is long periods of shooting, exploding and pretty graphic violence, but certainly a nail biter from start to end. Somewhat predictable but that did not hurt. Loved Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman!!!

action packed

good movie, lots of edge of your seat action. Fast moving, although it is a 2 hour movie,it went by fast. A some what predictable plot but good acting and special effects made for several nail biting moments. I wouldn't recommend this for young children. lots of very graphic violence. I say GO SEE IT!!!

A thrill ride.

I love a movie where good and bad are clear, when it's made plain from the start who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. "Winner of Sundance Awards" does not impress me. This movie was fun. It entertained. That's what a movie is supposed to do.

This was one of the most exciting filmas I have ever seen. The shock of seeing the White House under attack and watching the President and other high officials abused, and in some cases killed was extraordinary movie making.

Great action packed film.

Gerard Butler kicked butt in this film. Fight scenes were great, and I also like Morgan Freeman. He was no nonsense as the speaker of the house. The only problem I had was, what was the take over of the White House about? They never explained that, but I give this film 4 stars.

Action packed

From beginning to end this movie kept me on the edge of my seat. the takeover seemed believeable and many in the audience were cheering and yelling at the screen throught the movie. Butler did not overact like some others say. the fight sceens with him were believable. aside from some normal one-lliners from the acting president and his support staff, this was an original take on a battle wihin our own borders. have to say, thiswas one of the most voilent movies i've seem, which include a female being beat. could have done without that part.

i highly recommend seeing.

don't let others judge (including movie reviewers), judge for yourself. it will be money well spent.

Best "Die Hard" movie of the year

If you approach this movie as a "Die Hard" movie, you're going to love it. Great action, great characters, and great action. And really really good action. The professional critics reviews I read were all caught up in the politics of the movie, and I honestly don't understand why. Give the analytical portion of your brain the night off, and enjoy having this movie boost your testosterone level.

Good flick!

Didn't go to this movie with high expectations and boy was I surprised. This movie had just the right amount of action and semi-realism. Gerard Butler is the MAN! The cast and storyline meshed together so well I'd definitely go see it again. Most of us have seen movies with a 'this is how the world ends' or 'how many different ways we can imaginatively destroy major cities.' This one was WOW! Prepare to be shocked!

Zero Dark Crappy

Saw the positive reviews, cast and some of the effects from the trailer and thought it would be very entertaining. Not sure if they pulled the script from a 7th grade creative writing class, but several people in the theater were actually laughing at how cheesy the lines and plot were...and not in a Stallone/Van Damme/Arnold way; in a bad, poorly developed way. The actors did their part, the effects crew did their part, but they were just lipstick on a pig. IMHO, wait til it comes out on video; should be in a few weeks.

A ACTION PACKED MUST SEE!!!

I loved this movie. If you like Action , a good story line,and the good in People you will love this movie. It was action packed rollar coaster ride. I have to say I would see this again and I usually do not say that about movies.. The thought is sobering in this day and times things like this do happen. I have to say the whole Audience cheered at on point but I don't want to give anything away. Go see it you won't be sorry.

Olympus Has Fallen but the House is Insured!!

Premise of the movie is ok but development of the premise is terrible. Major characters are written as the prototype of a standard caring President, idiot commander of the military and the Speaker of the House as the guy who knows everything.

Action is great including visual special effects, all aspects of the action deliver. Writers however should give back the money they were paid, script and lines are horrible. Butler delivers terrible lines with almost good grace, he is one of the most believable things about the movie and sells his character well.

If you can leave your brain at home you will enjoy the action. "sorry about the house" and "the house is insured" lines are a sad finish for a good action movie.

Very intense, disturbing at times. Really brought back memories of 911 and how venerable our country is to attacks from other countries. Plot is a no brainer at the end. Graphics were great!

Action packed - albeit extremely violent

OK, I will start by saying this movie is loaded with bad language and extreme violence, but that is to be expected, it is Rated R. All that said, the action is nonstop, with a few twists here and there (one of them being rather predictable). Gerard Butler is excellent, doing his american accent to perfection LOL, and playing the rough and tough guy very well. Aaron Eckhart is also terrific, as is Morgan Freeman and others. The casting is successful. I went into the movie thinking ok, I am looking forward to action, but also believing there is no real way this could ever happen. Though some of it is unrealistic, you still can see how it is possible that our white house is more vulnerable than we think. That makes the movie more enjoyable, but opens up a different can of worms ;)
