    Super good although...

This really is a great movie - interesting premise and it's always great to see Gerard, Aaron, Morgan, and Angela on the big screen. The only thing that could be better: the opening dialogue is super lame! And there's Seal helicopter part that is excessive. Other than that - gotta see this flick!

Olympus Has Fallen but the House is Insured!!

Premise of the movie is ok but development of the premise is terrible. Major characters are written as the prototype of a standard caring President, idiot commander of the military and the Speaker of the House as the guy who knows everything.

Action is great including visual special effects, all aspects of the action deliver. Writers however should give back the money they were paid, script and lines are horrible. Butler delivers terrible lines with almost good grace, he is one of the most believable things about the movie and sells his character well.

If you can leave your brain at home you will enjoy the action. "sorry about the house" and "the house is insured" lines are a sad finish for a good action movie.

A movie that keeps your interest from the first scene....

This action packed movie had my interest from the beginning. Sure, its hard to believe anyone or group could penetrate the White House (Olympus), but once you accept that you can really sit back enjoy the movie. Gerard Butler played a one man army, getting back into the White House to rescue the Presidents' son, then the President himself. Morgan Freeman did a great job as the acting President, Angela Bassett was a cabinet member and Ashley Judd starred in a cameo roll which lasted all of about 5 minutes. If you like action, don't listen to the critics, go watch a good flick instead!

    Olympus has fallen

Very intense, disturbing at times. Really brought back memories of 911 and how venerable our country is to attacks from other countries. Plot is a no brainer at the end. Graphics were great!

    Great action packed film.

Gerard Butler kicked butt in this film. Fight scenes were great, and I also like Morgan Freeman. He was no nonsense as the speaker of the house. The only problem I had was, what was the take over of the White House about? They never explained that, but I give this film 4 stars.

    Awesome!

    by mstamey

The only thing I could have done without is long periods of shooting, exploding and pretty graphic violence, but certainly a nail biter from start to end. Somewhat predictable but that did not hurt. Loved Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman!!!

    Too familiar

As a big fan of Vince Flynn and the "Mitch Rapp" series, I feel like they directly ripped off his hero and his theme, however, it was well done with non-stop action. I enjoyed the movie with, of course the absolute assurance of the ending. But, it's worth a couple of hours for some entertainment, blood, guts, and good old fashioned kick-butt fighting.

    OLYMPUS Has Fallen

    by ERICK60

I have just come from seeing this movie and was very disappointed in the outcome. Now I'm a movie buff and look for the main story behind the story being told. I saw America as very weak and showing our military as weak and confused. In other countries this would not be allowed to be shown. There were children coming out of the movie saying that they would not every trust Koreans or Chinese. Is this want you wanted to show? Our country is being shown to others as easy to take over. Also the International World will believe what you shown at the White House and in Washington, DC is easy to over take.
What message are you trying to tell in this movie?
Understand what you have created can bring on hatered towards Asian People. This is not only a movie but a strong message of WHAT in your eyes? There are many people in this world who are mental sick. What do you think they will see in this movie.
The Actors were excellent, but the story line was very poor and prejudice. I'm an American.

    Old-School, Gung-Ho Action

    by hoffups

Anyone who appreciates solid, fast-paced action thrillers will love this film. The cast is fantastic and the plot relatively believable, with bits of dark humor to provide relief for the relentless action, which begins with an intense and clever attack scene which hits the audience like a roller coaster on the highest drop. This is the story of a hero's redemption and a country's satisfying revenge on terrorists who hope to take it down. Mike Banning, whose career as a Secret Service agent is nearly derailed by a tragic accident, is played by Gerard Butler in a memorable performance full of fierce, determined grit. He has the intensity and size to be believable in the role, with an air of intellligence that's often missing in many action stars. And with his charming grin and deep-voiced delivery of his lines and quips, we can't help but root for him to annihilate every bad guy in his way to rescuing the president and saving the country. Pure unadulteraded fun!

    Action packed

From beginning to end this movie kept me on the edge of my seat. the takeover seemed believeable and many in the audience were cheering and yelling at the screen throught the movie. Butler did not overact like some others say. the fight sceens with him were believable. aside from some normal one-lliners from the acting president and his support staff, this was an original take on a battle wihin our own borders. have to say, thiswas one of the most voilent movies i've seem, which include a female being beat. could have done without that part.

    i highly recommend seeing.

don't let others judge (including movie reviewers), judge for yourself. it will be money well spent.

B-Movie Ad Campaign Should Not Keep You Away From A Good Movie!

    by

Pay attention to the first fifteen minutes of this film, because that is about the only character development you will see for the good guys. After that it is just going to be a non-stop action film ride. You have seen elements of this film if you have seen Harrison Ford in Air Force One, Bruce Willis in any Die Hard Film, or Morgan Freeman in any film where he plays POTUS. Let yourself get past the ease of the Spectre's incursion (USAF A-C130 ) and the waves Secret Service Agents that flow out the doors of the White House to get mowed down by .50 Cal gunners. There does not appear to have been any cooperation from the DoD, because the Soldiers, SEALs, and HRT guys are all portrayed as extras / fodder; however, the 4-Star General with the bad perm is spot on for the current crop of military decision makers. The cast all works well, and reflects the way we staff our branches of government.

Go Watch - You will be entertained!

    Olympus has Fallen

Keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire movie. Improbable, some actions taken by the characters not actual protocol , still a attention getting riveting movie. I' see it again for it's ability to hold my attention the entire movie.

Edge of the Seat - er

Plausible script that keeps you intensely involved rooting for the good guys to do in the bad guys. Not much to think about but entertaining all the way.

Finally a good summer movie in the spring

    by ketmd

The formula may be somewhat old as the critics have said but they managed to create a few twists and kept the action rolling. Just believable enough to draw you in throughout most of the movie. The ending got a little ridiculous but all in all worth the money to see. Gerard Butler made a nice transition from the days of "300" to a more modern action star. Morgan Freeman was solid in his minor role.

Die Hard meets Under Siege. What Die Hard 5 should have been.

    by

Pretty much a combination of Die Hard movie crossed with Under Siege. I think it's what Die Hard 5 should have been. Make a few adjustments to the plot and stick John McClane in there, and you would be none the wiser. The plot is weak (even stupid at times) but appropriately develops a few characters for the inevitable hopeless hostage situation with the lone guy on the inside fights his way to victory all while taunting the bad guy. The action and pyrotechnics are over the top and I really enjoyed the action and tactical fighting. It's definitely worth seeing on the big screen if you like action movies.
