Okay movie if you have to do a romance/comedy

This movie dragged in spots but had some funny parts. If you must do a chick flic it's not too bad. I didn't look at my watch until an hour into the movie.

Cute is nice, but nothing special

Admission is a fun, cute movie. It tries hard to be deep but doesn't really get there. Paul Rudd is his terrific, naturally care free self while Tina Fey is charmingly uptight and comical. Except f or the kid playing the student Paul and Tina are trying to get admitted into Princeton, the supporting staff doesn't do much in this movie and are surprisingly unlikable. That said, if you want a feel good, silly but down to earth movie, you'll enjoy this exaggerated look at two of the world of education's most extreme examples. If you go hoping for too much depth or too much comedy, you'll be disappointed. It's not necessarily laugh out loud funny, but is certainly a feel good, check your emotional fortitude kind of flick. Go have a good time, get some popcorn and a soda, and sit back and enjoy this satirical underdog education romp.

    surprisingly fun

didn't expect this to be a good movie but it was a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon. Admission is not just another cookie cutter RoCom, it had some depth if lite.

    Just plain bad

My wife and I do not get a chance to get out too often so when we had the chance, we both like Tina Fey. Boy, we were disappointed. Wait for redbox.

    HUGE disappointment

first off, I think the "i'm In" is a dumb idea. This is based on the previews, but continues to be shown after the movie has been released. It can generate enthusiasm for a totally LACKLUSTER movie. I was "in" all right. Opening night to a smaller than I expected audience with one or two people laughing a few times during the entire movie. What a disappointment. The film was just plain boring. It never took off. I only stayed for whole thing because I like the actors and wanted to see how it ended, It had a couple of minor "chuckles" for silly stuff. If you MUST see it - wait for Netflix rental.

    Just Awful

I am a huge Tina Fey fan and was really looking forward to this movie. It was not funny, the story was strange and made no sense. Lily Tomlin was great and the only good part of the movie but you can't sit through this disaster just for her. Aren't these kinds of movies supposed to be heartwarming but I found myself cringing at every scene for being so awkward.

    A Disappointment

    by

This movie in a nutshell was two + hours of my life that could have been better spent. The acting was reasonably okay and I have always liked Paul Rudd--but the premise felt contrived and the ending was very much of a letdown. Needless to say, I will NOT be ordering this one when it comes to Blu Ray nor will I waste my time and money to see it a second time at the theater.

    Admission

I think Tina Fey is a great actress, and that made me like the movie, she didn't let me down. I also thought that Paul Rudd did a great job with the part. The story line moved a litle slow and I felt that the end was not what I like for an ending. It didn't give me enough of a closing, and I felt it left too much incompleted.

A Bit Akin To A TV Movie Without Commercials But Pleasant.

This is a modestly entertaining film with a basic formulaic screenplay. It's well executed and includes a surprisingly long over-due screen reappearance of Lily Tomlin. Sadly, Lily's character is unsubstantial and as a consequence, her performance here is little more than a cameo. While there's nothing much new here, the onscreen chemistry between Fey and Rudd is warm and believable. The story's a little weak but the total package is enjoyable enough to warrant a matinee ticket, even a DVD or steam rental. See it. You won't be disappointed.

    ADMISSION

What a waste of two, attractive, competent stars in a lame comedy. The film didn't know what it was: rom com? comedy? satire? Just a pedestrian mess. Couldn't wait for it to end.

    Not hilarious...but funny

If you're a Tina Fey fan, you'll probably like this film. I'd call it a chick flick. Disagree with the 'bad, bad movie' reviewers out there. To each her own!

    Two Thumbs Down

    by phylpix

I love Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, but the story was lame. I thought I'd give it a shot, but shouldn't have. I did not lilke this film and would not recommend it to anyone.

    Admission

This movie was great entertainment. The script is smart and funny. Tina Fey shines. In a time when movies are rated too highly on special effects, this was a pleasure to see. As a parent of two college students, I loved the plot.

Not worth theatre price....wait for DVD

All in all an alright movie. Not as funny as I'd hoped. Cast was good, but I feel the script was kinda bad.

If I could do it over again, I'd still see this movie. But I'd wait for DVD, or streaming outlet. Not worth the cost of two theatre tickets for my girl and I.

    disappointed

I love Tina Fey and Paul Rudd but the best thing about the movie was Lily Tomlin and she wasn't in it nearly enough.

When the subplots with the ex boyfriend and mother of the main character are the main source of laughter, a romantic comedy with this caliber of stars is flat out disappointing.
