A beautiful and dark tale of revenge done right!

I went through 3 stages with this movie first i just thought it was a throw away action movie with a few likeable actors then i got a little excited when i saw the trailer then i got super excited with the red band trailer. So with that being said i went into this movie with fairly high hope and and i'm going to go out there and say it that this is probably my second favorite movie this year so far with the first being side effects and i can't believe i'm saying that but wow this movie was just right up my ally it was dark,sexy,funny and a awesome edge of your story! Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace were tremendous together and very well casted they both played their roles very well. Dominic cooper was also very good as Darcy. The directon was amazingly paced it was slow and gloomy but i was on the edge of my seat the entire time!. The soundtrack was good even though it was mostly in a foreign language it still fit the movie perfectly. I give DEAD MAN DOWN a 9/10

A complete waste

Of time, energy, money, star power, and a director that made better films in Sweden. I guess I shouldn't have expected much better from something produced by the WWE.

Went with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised

This was a really good movie. Well written, shot, directed and acted. I know these seem like dry terms to describe a movie but on the surface one might say that elements of the story are somewhat cliche but they are handled well so the feeling that it's cliche is avoided. Certain lines, said by any other actors, wouldn't play but with this cast, they are compelling. The story always kept me guessing and even when I'd already figured things out, I was still entertained way beyond my expectations. Not a wrong move in it. I really really recommend this movie. It wasn't well attended which is a shame. I don't know if it was competing with some strong opening nights for other movies but it deserves not to be overlooked.

Not for everyone, but...

I enjoyed this movie because it managed plot cohesion while managing to surprise me. It did have some ultraviolent moments, and I would not recommend anyone bring a toddler (like the annoying one wandering the theatre at random), but for adults with an appreciation of a nice twisty plot, it had merit.

Not a great film at all. I would wait for cable.

This movie moved very slow, and Terrence Howard pretty much was not in the film at all. Plot was terrible, and the story was horrible. Even the climax stunk. I give this film 1/2 a star. Don't waste your $.

DEAD MAN DOWN

I liked this film from start to finish. There are three plots that are running simultaneously; but they don?t confuse the plot or get too complicated throughout the film. This is without question Colin Farells best performance as of today. He is absolutely astounding in this movie. I am seeing a turn for the better from Hollywood towards better movies this year. I thought that the director did a fantastic job of keeping this film moving at an interesting pace. One could say it is a bit slow; however it is consistent and filled with suspense and edginess. The entire cast does an outstanding job of acting. All in all, this is a good movie for you to enjoy and well worth the price of admission.

Movie nite alright

Had a movie nite in which we decided to see dead man down. It was a good movie and with a great cast surprisingly. Enjoyed it more than I thought . Great action and a touch of love with somewhat predictability. See for yourself ******

Good movie

I enjoyed the movie, good substance with a great plot. The ending was left for a surprise. This is a good movie to watch with your spouse or even by yourself.

Pleasantly surprised

For a movie that got decidedly mixed reviews, I thought that it was a good two hours of entertainment. Well paced, with a sufficiently intricate plot and a few good twists. Worth seeing.

A very forgettable film that is hardly entertaining. Overused plot with the ending that sort of fizzles out without a punch. It lacked even the basic premise of suspense and thrill.

Not too bad at all....

Wasn't expecting much from this action/thriller, but was very pleasantly surprised. Both Noomi Rapace and Colin Farell really do display solid acting chops in this one. Would give it a solid 3 out of 4 stars.

A Must see

I thought this movie was great, it kept your guessing, something that a lot of movies don't do anymore. This is a great suspense movie, well thought out, and not very predictable for sure. I say a must see!

Boring run-on few action

Most directors would put half this movie on the cutting room floor to keep it moving. Here they using it as a filler. Hours of boring scenes going nowhere. Colin's character is also totally inept. He saves the life of the guy hes trying to knock off just to keep the movie going, whats the point. It should be a 5 minute movie. They fake romance between him and a lady, there is nothing there. Come in the last ten minutes, only good part.

Dead Man Down - a solid B

I was begining to believe that Hollywood could only produce 90 minutes of mindless car chases, random helicopter crashes and explosions and call it a movie.

Dead Man Down has a good story, good acting and just enough action to put an edge on things. Go see it.

Dead Man Down (Must See, Must Go Movie!)

This is a must see. You could not pridict the next scene or the next turn of events. It was a mind bender, turn of events through out the whole movie. You will enjoy this action, but sometimes brutial and bloody movie. I think it will be one of the BEST movies of the year 2013! What a nice way to experience the Movie Theaters for the first time. I was so use to going to see movies that were so predictable and borring same old themes, it was hard for me to justify spending over $10.00 per person to go to the movies. This one was worth over $20.00 per person to see it. Very intertaining and made me want to go to the movies again now. I hope the other new movies out there are as good as this one is or at least 1/2 as good so they are worth paying to go see them. This movie restored my faith in the Movie Theater experience. Would definately watch this movie again even at over $10.00 per person to watch it. This is a Must see or Must Go!
