DARK comedy

I'm not a Michael Bay fan, and probably wouldn't have seen the movie if I had known he directed it, but I did like this movie. One key point: this is a DARK comedy, so don't expect an action comedy like Wahlberg's "Big Hit" or Dwayne Johnson's "Rundown". The movie made me laugh, and disturbed me. My Rating: catch the matinee. And don't take the kids.

Billed as a comedy...its not

I don't mean that it just isn't funny. It really isn't a comedy. IT was amazing only in how horrible it was. Based upon a true story, this was a story that didn't need retelling and I'm stunned that it has the cast and director that it does. don't waste your money and don't waste your time when it comes out on cable.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MOVIE

This movie is AWFUL!!! Confusing Disgusting and we left after 1 hour of trying to watch and understand what this movie was all about? And that was hard to stay that long but wanted to give it a chance. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

dark funny movie.

Me and my wife went and saw this last night. It was a good movie. Even my wife liked it. It is not gruesome as some people have said. We laughed alot. it's slow at first but gets better. People need to realize this is based off a true story getting mad because the Rock does coke in it is pointless would they rather they omitted that part of the truth from the true story. My wife was laughing when the This is still a true story warning on the screen popped up. all she could say was it can't be true no one is really this stupid. Thats how you have to view this movie. also people getting mad that this movie makes body builders look dumb. THIS IS A TRUE STORY Don't be mad that they show a bad light on bodybuilding it's a story about these 3 idiots not every weightlifter.

The only movie I have walked out of. it's an unfunny piece of junk. It does not deserve either thumb's up or down, but rather the finger. Too bad because I liked all of the actor's past work.

What did I watch?

I love Mark Wahlberg but this movie was quite bad. About an hour in I was so ready to go, but felt like I already watched so much of it I should see the ending. I know they are pushing it as a comedy, but it was not funny at all. It was beyond ridiculous and the fact it was a true story made it that much worse. This is not even a rental, do not waste your time.

Love watching the actors in this cast but the story was not captivating at all. Was a struggle to just stay awake. This won't rate much beyond a Razzy award this year. I was disappointed dark comedy or not.

I thought the movie was pretty good and had some laughs. All 3 main characters shined in their own way and brought their own flare to the table so that was a plus. I just can't believe with this being "based on a true store" that the real guys were actually that dumb in real life.

Although this movie has "big names" playing the lead roles, it failed to deliver. Labeled as a "Dark Comedy", the comedy parts did not strike a laugh out of me. And I've seen dark comedies before and usually get a laugh. Long story short this movie should be deemed as a movie to watch when you are bored and can't find nothing else to view. This is something to pass the time.

There are no words....

I had high hopes for this movie. The previews made it look funny and entertaining. Then the movie started...and it just went downhill from there. This movie was a complete waste of time. It had potential, but completely missed the mark. I left the theater in silence...and not because I was blown away...I just could not think of anything good to say about it...and I was in awe that it was THAT bad.

pretty interesting for true story

The acting was great and the story kept you watching. Even though it was not what I expected at all. I thought it would be funnier, but it got pretty confusing and interesting. True stories can be like that... that's why the bad guys always get caught.

At this stage of our lives (senior citizens) my husband and I attend movies to be entertained. This movie definitely did that!! We laughed so hard at the quirkiness and idiosyncrasies of each of the characters and couldn't help but feel the portrayal of them was probably spot on. -- If you've ever been around anybody who is fanatical about anything and in this case, body-building -- you know they all have "blindsposts" in their thinking! It's these "blindspots" I'm guessing that are probably a close depiction of the actual characters! (I don't know anything about the real-life story/case). We found the movie hysterically funny, extremely entertaining and would recommend it to any adults interested in an evening's entertainment.

This movie was really entertaining... The Rock wasn't in the role your use to seeing him in... And to top it off I couldn't believe it's based off a true story... We enjoyed it.

For the last hour I couldn't wait for the movie to end it was to long and to slow and not something I would ever wish to watch again. It had some funny parts but over all I would not recommend this movie to anyone.
