NOT WORTH ANY TIME OR MONEY

The only saving grace about this awful movie was that it was a true story. You have to keep that in mind while watching it or you'll think the writer was on major (bad) drugs.

    No Pain, No Gain

I went to go see this movie with my friend because I had a fandango gift card for my birthday that I hadn't used in a month. I decided on Pain & Gain because it had Dwayne Johnson in it and he is always such a cool dude. This movie is hilarious because of the fact that The Rock's face is so funny, he just makes us laugh just by looking at him. They try to make their lives so perfect, that they ***&^ it all up!! Hilarious movie, almost peed my pants.

    All pain

    by Gjacque

Since the movie was based on actual events it was not as much action as one would believe from the trailers. Overall it was a good movie. If you are into fact based movies go if not I do not recommend

    Most stupidest movie I've seen!

Why did they make this movie? I think I read somewhere it's based on a true story? That'd be stupid. So, the Hollywood producers just wanted to be more stupid? Or they want just to show how stupid we are to see it. I fell for it though. Blahhhhhhhhhhhh! On the other site, they have star ratings, so I'd say it's worth 1.5 stars. Dwayne Johnson really was pretty good acting stupid.

    Pain & Gain Painful

I love the actors. Normally love their movies. The acting was good. The story, however, made the movie too hard to watch. I wanted to leave before it was over because it was so disturbing, but I was afraid something would happen to redeem the movie. Unfortunately, it didn't. Still love Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson though!

    Great Characters

My girl friend and I decided to see Pain & Gain tonight. We actually really enjoyed the movie despite our reservations on the (so-so) review before we left. The story is dramatic, but the characters and some of the situations were quite comical. Dwayne Johnson and Mark Walburg were at the top of their game as usual and the movie was filmed and cut in traditional Michael Bay style. Wether you are curious about the actual story that happened, or are a fan of Marky Mark or The Rock, Pain & Gain was an entertaining movie.

    Worst Movie EVER!!!!

My husband and I were so excited to go see this movie. It was soooooo so bad that I decided to write this, my first review of a movie. We got home and felt like we wasted our time, money and didn't get over it for about 2 days. In our 4 years together, it's the first time my husband says he wants to leave in the middle of the movie. The only reason we stayed was to see if it picked up any, but it never did. BEWARE... it's awful!

    One of the Worst

    by Skaull

Honestly, this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Definitely a "guys flick," it objectified women in the worst ways, and played into about every male and female stereotype that exists. The only marginally sympathetic character was the Rock. The plot was ham-handed and meandering. Do not waste your time on this one.

    Misrepresented

I was extremely excited to see this movie just from the trailers, but the bad reviews on Fandango made me question if it was worth money! So i went with my gut and went and hell it was worth it... I was laughing from beginning to end, but be warned it is dark humor. The christians obviously feel they were represented as hypocrites and freeks so thats where the negative reviews are coming from, not because it was a **** movie.

    Possibly michael bay's best?

I wasn't the biggest fan of michael bay going into this movie but the trailers looked really fun so i went in with a open mind and i'm glad i really did because michael bay has earned my respect and my opinion on him has changed. Pain & gain was very how do i say... Interesting it wasn't a straight comedy but when it was the comedy was very dark and sick but so crazy you just had to laugh. I really enjoyed the performances in this movie especially Anthony mackie and Dwayne Johnson they were really good. I'm not going to lie michael bay can make a hell of a good looking movie and this movie is no exception this movie is very vibrant if that makes sense. I really don't know who to suggest this movie to i guess it's people in my age group which is 16-30 year old males but it is a very unique true story and michael bay's best movie in my opinion. Go see this movie if your looking for pure entertainment featuring the rock's best performance. I would give Pain & Gain a 8/10

Not worth the time or money

Just got back from seeing this movie. It's a waste of 2 hours. There are a handful of funny moments, but the rest of the movie overshadows the humor to the point I can't recall and recant any of the humorous parts.
The even sicker thing is that this was based on a true story. If you insist on seeing it, at least wait till it's out on DVD and then pay $1.60 at Redbox. Even then, you may regret the spend.

    sorry I went

I'm so sorry I went to see this movie, wish I had walked out and gotten my money back but was with other people. I couldn't believe that these good actors were in this terrible movie. Too long, foul language when it wasn't needed in most places, boring, stupid!!!!

You have to see it to beleive it

    by TheBdog

I would have never thought in a million years that this was based on a true story. Dwayne Johnson steals the show, and its a great comedy. Must see!
