    Mama...

Movie was creepy. My intention was to be creeped out throughout the entire movie. "Mama" was successful. There is room for a sequel, FYI.

    Check it out and enjoy!

    MAMA

    by

The ominous film, MAMA, was filled with excitement, sporadic comedy, and heart racing scenes. The plot was dynamic and creative. An enjoyable film that will have you jumpy.

MAMA is grand and horrific - fun time for all

I found MAMA to be a creative and exciting piece of film making. Scary, exciting, creepy, tearful, unsettling and excellent acting by all. Don't go in the closet... The special effects and sound were very creative And the editing was top notch. I WOULD SEE IT AGAIN.
    Not for kids...

Well worth the price of admittance ! !

This horror movie had us jumping in our seats and kept us in suspense throughout. We enjoyed the movie from start to finish. Not one for the youngsters as it will probably give them bad dreams. The cinematography was great. This movie shows that it does not take an "A" list of actors to be cast in a movie to make it a good one.

    Good not Great

I am HUGE fan of Guillermo del Toro movies. This move was good; but, I expected more in terms of plot from del Toro. The cinematography was good, the acting was well done and the directing was great.

The story - not so much.

Is this another Grudge like movie?

I just went to see the movie last night. I was slightly disappointed,I thought it was going to be more drama, more nail biting scariness, but it was not. It had a few jumps here and there, but that was it. It reminds me so much of the Grudge with similarities from the Ring as well. If I had to grade this movie I would rate it as a B- or C+.

    Are you kidding me?

We saw the previews, & thought it looked pretty good. The story didn't make sense & it was just stupid. I was ready to walk out the first few minutes of the movie. Very disappointed.

    Mama: Horror at it's Best

It is said that a mother?s love is forever (and that is also the tagline). It is also said that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Mix the two you get some serious ****. If said mother was insane, like committed for eating her own **** insane, the world is fucked.

The latter is the mother in Mama. She is terrifying, but it is her adopted daughters, Victoria (Megan Charpentier) and Lilly (Isabelle Nélisse), who really bring the horror to the film. Megan and Isabelle are absolutely brilliant. I?ve heard you never want to work with animals and children because of their unpredictability. These girls, who I guess are roughly 10 and 8 respectively, are the definition of ?the exception to the rule.? They own their performances, which is incredible considering that for most of the movie they have no lines. They growl and run on all fours. They absolutely are feral children.

Mama will no doubt join supernatural horror classics like Poltergeist, The Omen, The Exorcist, et. al.

    Mama

Mama is a good movie, with an interesting plot. Not to scary, but a few things jump out at you. The girls, especially Lilly are so creepy!

    So-So at Best

Very slow start, and a lot of parts that I'm sure were meant to be scary kind of fell flat. It does have great acting by the children, and by Jessica Chastain, playing against type here. There are many spooky parts, and a handful of scarier scenes. The end doesn't wrap anything up and seems like a set up for a sequel.

Go see Mama. The little girls are amazing especially the one that plays Lilly. This kept me on the edge throughout and the ending...well, it illicited some feelings/emotions I was not expecting. Very good movie...don't wait for the DVD.

    MAMA review

MAMA had a very good and original plot, was suspenseful, and had many parts that made you jump, cringe , and scream. The musical score was awesome! The little girl actors were fantastic at being creepy, and the angles that the cameras were filming at and the cinematography were amazing, and added a super creepy effect. The only part I have to critique on was the ending; There was no real closure, and it could have been executed a lot better. Also regarding the end: there were still some loose threads that were not tied, and left you wondering about many things not included in the movie and could have incorporated more into it to give the viewer the closure when the film. But overall, MAMA definitely delivered the creeps and scares I wanted and left me with insomnia at night :) This movie is ok for 13-14 year olds, but really is more for 15 and older.

    Met My Expectations

I wasn't expecting a too scary of a horror movie because it was rated PG-13, but it got some jumps out of me. Lots of pop outs. Actors were great.
