Atlas Shrugged is so relevant to our current state of government

Loved seeing Part II and can't wait for Part III. I'm not sure why it was necessary to change all of the actors from Part I, but will definitely see Part III when available. We are not a bottomless moneypit for our dear leaders. If you didn't see Part I it will still bring you up to speed.

The assumption it's one vs the other?

For those that think this movie says one of the two parties is better than the other really need to look carefully. This isn't anti-republican, or anti-democrat.

    Better than Part 1

This is a movie for Ayn Rand fans. Production quality is much better than Part 1, and the modern computer technology added believability to the setting. Some of the characters were a little wooden, but Dialog was true to Ayn Rand's philosophy and the audience groaned when the movie ended right in the middle of the story. Especially the last 20 minutes were actually exciting. When will part 3 come out?

Worth seeing but could have been so much more

    by laucdou

As much as I liked the film, there were some strong disappointments, the biggest of which was Francisco. Morales did not play him with the charisma, intensity, or aristocratic panache of the character in the book. He didn't appear that he could run a restaurant much less a giant mining multination. Nor did he do a credible job of that man turning his efforts to being a playboy. That, coupled with the script's total gutting of his "money speech." certinaly one of the more pivotal moments in the book, showed either very poor casting, worse than mediocre directing, and/or very weak script-writing.

However, Jason Beghe did an outstanding job of Rearden and Samantha Mathis was mostly believable as Dagny. Fortunately, most of this part dealt with them.

I look forward to Part III, but Galt jolly well better far stronger than either of the voices that have portrayed him so far!

    Pure Propaganda

This movie is trying to demonize people whose believes are different from others. The dialogues are pretty simple and clearly trying to accomplish the objective of the movie. I knew what the movie was about by reading its description but I wanted to have my firm opinion after watching it, I have to admit that staying the whole movie was painful. I believe people have the right to disagree but not to demonize others in order to prove a point and that is exactly what this movie is trying to do.

    Capitalism IS Good

    by

This and the book are based totally around the idea that capitalism is the most free system in the world. That Capitalism creates wealth and gives those who are willing to work hard to move up in their lives that chance. This is the only way that you can change your status in life. Hard work is the only way. Collectivism is killing this country and we need to cut back before we collapse. Ayn Rand paints a bleak future which we are beginning to see the results of now as we lose more freedoms and the economy continues to bleak. This is something that will be entirely ignored by liberals because they will not want to have an intelligent discussion about the future of our country through collectivism.

Great movie but I have read the book.

    by TomG25

Atlas II was a great movie. It is similar to how part I was filmed. The replace characters didn't bother me and they did a great job. This is a film of the best book I ever read and they didn't disappoint. I would caution those who haven't read the book because the movie moves fast. But please go see it because I want to see part III.

Follows the book pretty well, but a lot of things had to be updated to keep it current, like the need to have coal(which was in the book)but there ain't nuthin' in the movie that ran on coal. Oh well I don't know how I could have done it differently. The cameo with Sean Hannity was inspiration. The message is the important part. Younger kids wouldn't understand it, probably.

    Atlas Shrugged: Part 2

Ayn Rand chose an extremely entertaining and chilling way to represent the corruption and evil of government when it is allowed to expand and blossom into full tyranny. Our founding fathers wrote about the responsibility incumbent on 'We the People' to remain vigilant and educated so we could avoid succumbing to a corrupt tyranny. This movie highlights that the JR Ewings of the world can't match the damage that can be done by the Leslie Mouches.

This is a movie for a mature audience that will enjoy being challenged by the political and economical paradyme that Ayn Rand was most qualified to expose. The cast performed well and special effects are used to great advantage. those who haven't, will want to see Part 1 and all will be anxious to see the next sequal.

Congratulations to those involved in finally producing An Rand's classic.

    Great display of Libertarian ideals

This movie explained the mindset behind the far left of today better than anything I've seen. Of course all of the left-leaning press and movie critics will bash it. It won't change minds because the people who need to understand this story simply don't want to. But I, for one, enjoyed it, and am anxious for the final installment. I've been a fan of Ayn Rand for most of my life, and believe this movie did as good a job as possible for a movie based on such a massive book. The best way to do this would have been a week-long mini-series, but I don't know of any network willing to do something like that these days.

    Atlas Shrugged II

    by Maeta

Loved it again - after I finally adjusted to the total cast change. Can't understand why that had to happen - I loved the first Dagney and Hank.

    See it.

I liked the movie and it moved too quickly for me (over in no time!). I wanted a resolution, but not so with the center of a trilogy.

I wish they had used the cast from the 1st movie - they were more like the characters in the book. The costuming for Dagny was awful and my goodness but the actresses seemed a bit…overweight for their parts.

Please, please make the 3rd and final installment!
