    What a masterpiece!!

    by cmd7400

I loved the part I and part II was just as unbelievable...this story is so ahead of its time. The cast changes were for the best (particularly with Hank and Dagney) and I was absolutely riveted from beginning to end. 7/4/2014 seems like so long to have to wait for part III!!!

Too much like real life. Scary!

Of course the critics hated it. They spend their time believing what Hollywood puts out and supporting liberal causes and movies with liberal themes.
There are just too many parts of the movie that are coming true. High gas prices, redistribution of wealth to those who refuse to work, entitlement, and the best of all, why those who work should feel good about helping those who don't. Ayn Rand was way ahead of her time.
See the movie because this is where we are headed.

    Must See

A timeless story of meddlers in the jobs of workers, entrepreneurs, industrialists, innovators ? anyone who works. The worse the economy gets the more they meddle, and the worse it gets. Slowly but surely more and more people gradually leave their jobs, and just as surely those parts of the economy fail.

I liked this movie. It?s not a kid?s movie. The script was updated from the original novel to reflect the current world. The acting was good but the script is the main deal.

My first thumbnail review of Atlas Shrugged Pt 2

It wasn?t as pure as Pt 1 ? the desperate circumstances of 1's production gave a clearer flow. This is more hectic and colored. The thriller aspect and econ-political passion of the book still shines through. A number of unfortunate continuity errors ? some quite severe. The Richard Halley sequence was bad. Dagny seems overly tired even with a world collapsing, but Rearden?s character was more or less successfully updated for 2012. His clotted marriage makes more sense given our times. Some very interesting adaptative decisions (e.g., giving TT a central nerve center and Dave Mitchum working there). Eddie Willers is stronger, seems a better match for Dagny. Francisco stands out ? he has the burning passion (almost mystical) of someone who's seen another world. Not much like the Francisco of the book ? the Zorro-inspired D?Anconia has become more an avenging/liberating angel, but through him we hear some of the purer moments of Rand?s voice come through.

A fantastic sequel to a fantastic first!!

    by

Other than the fact that the ENTIRE cast and filming locations were changed, I LOVED this movie.
I've read the book, and the plot adhered to the original story quite well. I thought the acting and cinematography was well done.
Anyone who is dissatisfied with today's economy should WATCH THIS FILM!!!

    A. S. 2

A S 2 would have been better had there been a return of the people that played the characters from A S. The movie picks up right where the first one left off, edge of your seat at times, I will go see it again to take in more of it.

What a change in the role of James Taggert, he has been totally succume to the GOVERNMENT WAYS, has become a RAT with a very long tail.

Story line kept well and am looking forward to #3.

A future real Americans do not want.

    by

As a Libertarian and somewhat a fan of Ayn Rand's philosophy, I enjoyed the movie. But unexpectedly, my wife also enjoyed the movie. She is a devout Evangelical Christian and knows very little about Libertarian or Objectivism principles. Where she takes things on biblical faith, I tend to question things a lot more.
I was thrilled to see the messages of the movie develop in ways an average person could relate. It presented a crumbling world in the near future where the 99% had turned into the 99.98%. It is a world that very few sane individuals would care to live in. I thought some of the CGI effects could have been better but overall the movie was quite good. All of the key speeches in the book were there, though in much much shorter form. There was emotion, nail biting tension and more inspiring pro-liberty dialog than I've seen in a long time. I suspect this movie is going to be talked about a lot before the up coming election decides our next set of rulers.

FRUSTRATING....PART II IS NOT THE ENTIRE STORY.....THERE WIILL BE YET ANOTHER PART

    by DAGTAG

I'd have preferred the second installment be 3-4 hours long...to FINISH the book, I was disappointed where they chose to stop..... More confusion for the 'Atlas' novices.,
I felt cheated that I must go back again, (without warning), making it a total of $60 for 2 people. I've read Atlas Shrugged 5 times. It's my favorite book, but not everyone has the luxury of spending so much to see ONE story during these economic times.

Part one needed some work, part two was better, but for someone who didn't read the book (like my husband)....my giving him the backgroundl, as the movie progressed, STILL made it very complicated for him to understand.
There were only 6 people in the entire theater on the second night after opening. The continued confusion for"'Atlas" novices, does not bode well for the reception of the final chapter.
It should have been made for HBO....,with several re-runs., giving ALL a chance to see and understand this complicated story.( Acting, Directing etc. good)

    Excellent!!

This was an excellent Part II of Atlas Shrugged. The production value was mush better than Part I and overall a great adaptation of the book.

    Atlas Shrugged Part II

What a wonderful movie! The acting was superb! I was drawn into the story. The story is so prophetic. I can hardly wait to find out Who Is John Galt?

So Much Better Than Part 1!!!

    by

I went into this movie with low expectations, but was so pleasantly surprised. Great cast! I was originally worried about Samantha Mathis as Dagny after seeing the trailer, but that was completely unfounded. She was perfect!

Even if you don't like the book, or haven't read the book, you'll enjoy this movie. It's fiction, but critically relevant to where we find ourselves and our country today.

Why do you suppose the journalists gave this movie a bad review? I'm sure you can answer that without me spelling it out, and I'm certain it has nothing to do with the quality of the movie.

    Pure Propaganda

This movie is trying to demonize people whose believes are different from others. The dialogues are pretty simple and clearly trying to accomplish the objective of the movie. I knew what the movie was about by reading its description but I wanted to have my firm opinion after watching it, I have to admit that staying the whole movie was painful. I believe people have the right to disagree but not to demonize others in order to prove a point and that is exactly what this movie is trying to do.

    Atlas Shrugged Part 2

Thought it was great and looks like must be going on today in businesses and depending how the election turns out, it could be an indicator of what's in store the next 4 years.
