    Great for Kids & Grown-ups!

    Enjoyable for all ages. Parents, this is a great movie for little kids, but you'll also enjoy a lot the humor as well. Very touching story.

    Escape From Planet Earth

    I liked the film. Decent, clean and funny. Cinematography, acting and directing was great. A good movie for adults and children alike. No complaints and my guess left with a new thought about family values. Thanks

    Just okay

    My seven year old son liked it well enough, but I felt the movie was rushed with very little character development to speak of. But the movie wasn't made for me. Kids seem to enjoy it, but I think this one would be better for home viewing.

    escape to planet earth

    This is a brainless film, almost entirely lacking in imagination, It's so derivative but without adding anything to its sources. The adult wisecracking over the heads of kids is lame, stale and predictable. Everything about this film is formulaic. And the endless violence is offensive, since this film is being marketed to young children. The family relationships are shallow. The humiliation between silblings, while "resolved" at the end, falls short of any true emotional understanding. As grandparents, we have seen many children's films with our grandkids. Our 8-year old granddaughter said she "liked" the film, but she said not a word about it afterwards, a sure sign that it meant nothing to her. The creative team at Dreamworks has done, and I'm sure can do, better.

    No to SoSo

    I was really hoping for a great animated movie like Monsters vs Aliens or Despicable Me etc. For me, this movie, despite the great slew of acting talent, just didn't draw me in. The story was ok, the voices were good, but the animation just wasn't there for me. I would say rent this one.

    Nothing too special about the this movie. The only chuckles from the audience came during a few sight gag moments.

    The dialogue lacked any significant wit or charm. This is a rental.

    Escape from Planet Earth

    I took 4 kids aged 7-12 and we all really liked the movie. I appreciated that there was nothing particularly "dark" in the movie since most movies run rampant with evil. Even the older boys were good with a little less violence and little more humor. Very cute and enjoyable for all!

    Fun movie

    Slow, unfunny start had me wishing I could escape the theater, but ended up being a surprisingly good movie. Step-daughter liked it. Adults liked it. Fun characters. Fun movie.

    My 3 year old liked it okay

    It was just okay. There's not a lot of choices lately for the tot crowd so it was nice to have something to take her to see. But the storyline wasn't terribly unique or gripping. There were a few funny bits aimed at us adults who are familiar with the myths surrounding alien landings. But none of the characters were really loveable and the bad guy was so over the top bad, well it was just silly.

    Being Smart Isn't Cool

    This movie teaches kids that it is not cool to be smart or be a scientist. While the smart brother saves the day in the end, the constant degrading comments about being a nerd is what will stick with kids. This movie teaches kids that being a scientist is boring and means you're boring. They made comments toward Gary (the smart brother) that being smart meant he had no social life in high school and it was unbelievable that he was able to score a hot wife. In other words, being smart isn't cool. The comments "turn your brain off" and "thinking means doing nothing" made me livid. Science and smarts is what saves the day in the end, but does science and smarts get any glory? Almost none! This movie teaches kids that being smart and being a scientist isn't cool, which is a message that shouldn't be sent to our kids.

    Meh

    Tired dialogue and contrived bits make this a "something to do with the kids" type movie at best. Frankly, if I could do it over again I'd just wait to see it on Amazon Instant Videos for free or maybe pay a $2 rental fee....and its barely worth that. But the kids were amused and I've seen worse movies.

    Escape From PlanetEarth

    This is a fantastic film for the whole family. It shows how families operate, sometimes disagree but in the long run stick together through thick and thin! We loved and I recommend it highly!

    Cool movie, keeps you interested!

    Obviously great for kids, but very interesting and funny for the adults. It's funny how different age groups experience something else when watching the same film. All good things in this little movie though. :D

    The grandson loved it!

    This was a great kid's movie, funny, exciting, and with a focus on family. About a family of aliens and how they interact with each other in their lives, it has a sweet story that helps kids to understand how each person is a valuable contributor in each family. It is very action packed, and while I would not call it scary, I would say that there are some parts where really young children might get frightened. Kind of like the old ET movie, I remember my nephew slowly and quietly sneaking onto my lap when ET was in the backyard of the kids' home! He was three years old then. My eight year old grandson had no problems at all. He loved the Scorch character (voice of Brendan Fraser), and I particularly liked the character of Kip. Overall, it was great. At a time when almost every movie at the theater is rated R and packed full of bad language and overt sex, it's good to have something normal to watch.

    Formulaic. A mishmash of Monsters, Inc. Monsters vs. Aliens, etc. Jokes on directors names probably went over all but the most astute viewers. This is an older kid's movie...too scary for the under 6 group.
