This is how it is done.

This was a great film with a stellar cast and wonderful performances. Mr. Washington will be nominated but the oscar will go to Joaquin Phoenix. Anyway this is a film by talented pros!!

    Excellent Flick

This is a great blend of action and study of addiction. Washington was brilliant. The cast was wonderful. It's a long movie...almost 2 and a half hours but I was so involved in the story, it seemed like a shorter movie. Great movie for the 13 and up age group.

    FABULOUS!

    by Vicki F

Edge of your seat thriller. Will grab you in the first 20 minutes. Denzel Washington deserves an award for his role. Came out exhilarated -- BEAUTIFUL story, heartwarming yet very true to life. LOVED IT!

Great Story, Good Performances, Not Boring

when i went to see flight, i had read none of the reviews or synopsis. based on the trailers, i decided to plunge headfirst into the unknown, generally a bad idea for me, i'm so picky about the movies i shell out bucks for. this was a great night of entertainment! the effects of the plane ride and subsequent landing were phenomenal, leaving me grabbing the arm rest. but the true glory is in the story of the rise and fall of the pilot, his co-conspirators, his character traits both good and bad, and his ability to finally grasp responsibility for his own actions. i didn't know until the end how this was going to play out, and that's just how i like my morality plays, ever since star trek. this is a great bit of entertainment, with wonderful performances not only from denzel washington, but don cheadle and bruce greenwood, too, and john goodman was hilarious during his short tenure. a great watch i highly recommend.

A MUST See Movie - and I don't say that often!

This show had such a riveting story, I left the theatre feeling like I had been run over by a dump truck. I was ready to take my family back to see it again - and I never see a move twice. Denzel Washington is at his best. The storyline really touched home with me and is so much more than an airplane crash. It is about the difficulties dealing with addiction and figuring out what you really stand for. I've been waiting for Hollywood to roll out a great film for many years - and they finally did it with "Flight".

    Denzel's a Great Actor

Denzel Washington has been in so many films and appeared on so many talk shows promoting them that it would be reasonable if one were to stop seeing him as an actor and just as himself.

The thing is, though, he's not just an actor, he's one of the greatest actors of this or any other generation. This is a pretty-good-but-not-great film that becomes must-see because of Washington's heartbreaking and full performance.
It's riveting not only because of the suspense involving the crash and its aftermath but also because of Washington's ability to show us a man who seems in control but doesn't know that much about life or himself. He also does I suspect it would be an average experience, maybe even less than that, if it weren't for him. But because of him (and a strong cast that is often wasted, except for the excellent Kelly Reilly and The Wire's Peter Gerety).

But because of Washington it stays with you and is s a reminder of how fortunate we have been to see his remarkable work.

Great acting by Washington & Goodman

    by

Really enjoyed this film. Special effects were outstanding and the story line after the crash really altered the lives of the people that were involved. While watching! If you think you can predict how it's going to end, forget it! There are surprises! I like those kinds of movies.

    Flight

As a former in-flight supervisor, I must say I was riveted to my seat. Not only was the film well acted, it was also well filmed and so realistic. So much so, that I felt my heart rate increasing during the opening flight scenes. ANything more, and I would give away too much. You must see this film!

    Flight. Awesome

Really enjoyed it. Not as predictable as you would think. Plot draws you in. Denzel doesn't disappoint. First scene has lots of nudity...might not bring the kids

    Fly away to new heights

I took myself on a self-date and bought a ticket online to see Flight. Denzel Washington was terrific ~ no surprise to me! John Goodman stole every scene he was in (which was far too few for me!). Kelly Reilly was such an amazing counterpart to Denzel's addiction. Melissa Leo, though her part was small, was dynamic and engaging.

I don't belive this is a suitable movie for children under the age of 17.

The movie takes you on a rollercoaster ride at the beginning. The crash is suspensful and believeable ~ you feel like you are strapped into a seat right along with the passengers!

Sometimes you are not sure who is on Whip's side (Don Cheadle for instance). It is easy to get caught up in the struggles of the characters in this movie. The ending was unexpected. I will definitely make it to the theatre again to see this movie!

    Fantastic Flick!

Amazing scenes depicting the crash. I felt like I had been in a plane crash when I left the theater. very real. Top directing from Robert Zemeckis Great performances from Denzel and John Goodman. Definitely not for kids due to R rating (nudity and language). Very compelling. I forgot that I was in a movie. A must see!

    WOW! Excellent movie and acting!

Loved this movie, and it was so well acted and written. I was enthralled throughout it all and can't stop thinking about it even now. I highly recommend this movie!

    Flight - not as described!

This movie is advertised as "Flight." It should be advertised as "Addiction." This is a great movie for addicts or recovering addicts, but it had almost nothing to do with flight at all.

Set against the backdrop of a plane crash, the entire movie centers around the main character's addiction, which is in almost every scene - drinking, drugs, over and over and over. At about the 1 hour mark you just want to scream "We Get It - He Has An Addiction!"

Denzel Washington is a great actor, and we always enjoy John Goodman who was excellent in this movie. But this was an 18 minute movie about flight, followed by a 2 hour movie about addiction, and it was a clear, depressing view of how addiction negatively impacts so many lives.

It was definitely not as described, and to us, not entertaining, but rather, depressing, slow, drawn out and disappointing.

    Amazing

Layer after layer of crazy smooth issues .....that all explode at the end! Denzel and cast was amazing! Hope it wins great awards! Definitely an adult only movie...do not bring young children.

    Denzel is hot!

This movie is one of Denzel's best. If you like Denzel, you'll like this movie. He's cocky, hot, and doesn't care what people think of him. John Goodman has a great roll in it too. The movie puts the thought out there that pilots are human and you never know what the pilot of your plane did the night before. Don't listen to the critics who didn't like this movie - go see it for yourself! A little tearful at the end, but good tears.
