Addicts don't believe they have a problem...but they do.

"Flight" has a good cast of characters within it. Denzel Washington portrays a pilot (captain) who's quite believable -- especially, his alcohol and substance abuse problems. I can understand how scenes may show some lighthearted, even comical parts ( particularly with John Goodman); but I wasn't laughing, as many of the audience did. One may criticize me for being too serious; however, I watched a man with a serious alcohol / drug problem. As the film played out to the end; the acting was quite well done.

    Flight

Outstanding film in every category. This is Denzel Washington at his very best, perhaps Oscar worthy. And he's supported by a superb believable cast that includes John Goodman. A stellar film...I was engaged throughout.

Denzel deserves an Oscar for this one!!

    by

I was very impressed with "Flight". This was one of Denzel's best performances ever!! The movie had me seriously conflicted with whether to root for Denzel's character or stomp his guts out for all the drinking he did!! Excellent movie. A must-see in my opinion!!

This was a great movie. Anything that Denzel Washington plays in is top notch. He is one of my favorite actors. You must see this one.

    FLIGHT Soars Into the Deep!

One of the best movies I've seen in my entire life. Characters compelling and quite sympathetic. Slightly discombobulated in a couple of spots but this doesn't damage it one bit. It soars into the deepest confines of human emotion, normally not accurately portrayed on screen. Not for kids under 17. Can't wait to see it again.

    Bumpy Ride

    by MedRed

Flight wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The heart of the movie is one man's struggle with substance abuse. It starts off very well with a flight scene not for the faint of heart. The movie drags in the middle and stitches together some oddly fitting pieces to create a love interest. The ending is as good as the beginning, and makes up for the slow middle of the movie.

That being said, this movie didn't resonate as well with me as it might with others. There are probably a lot of people that can relate to the main characters situation. For those, this will be a very powerful movie.

P.S. If you have a fear of flying, you may never fly again after watching this movie.

    Another awesome performance!

Saw Flight last night (always go to Denzel's movies on opening day) and it was amazing! He gives a multi-dimensional performance as a troubled yet heroic yet brave character. In some parts of the movie you hated him, then felt sorry for him, then admired him. A MUST SEE!!

    Harrowing, thoughtful, excellent

    by

This is a well crafted film worthy of attention by our often careless culture. And the trajectory of the life of the central character of this film, a pilot, is as harrowing as the plane crash that finally pushes him to rock bottom. I had to hide my eyes at times, not at the scary flight scenes but at the dooming choices this pilot was making or about to make. It's not quite what I expected, but it lifted me above the clouds. I wasn't expecting and I am still ruminating on aspects of this film and woke up thinking about it this morning. I have a suspicion that the audience I saw it with was not expecting to be confronted with a story about alcoholism and it's capriciousness and that we were all pushed into thinking about how our actions can affect others and their flight paths. See it.

    Flight

I truly enjoyed this movie and despite it's over two hour running time it flew (no pun intended) by as it kept me glued to the story line. Most entertaining, provocative and enjoyable. I thought the cast was not only highly talented but perfect for their parts. Special effects and sound was awesome.

    Denzel is the man....

    by cat2

I usually avoid movies in which addiction serves as the underlying thread but this movie goes above and beyond this framework. Zemekis has finally arrived to deliver a visually stunning movie that keeps you literally on the edge of your seat. Everyone in this movie plays their role with such passion that you become immersed into the story heart, body and soul. Can the actions of a hero negate one's ability to betray the public's trust? Can one individual suffer so much at the hands of his "addiction" that his life propels forward with such inertia that it literally takes an act of God to make him realize that life is more than actions. Everyone should go see this movie for there are so many critical scenes that mere words can not do it justice.

    Now boarding for Flight

    by

I was expecting a good movie. I wasn't expecting a great movie. I have always liked Denzel Washington's performances; however, he is phenomenal in this. I also believe that this movie will also get Don Ceadle some more recognition. Not that he isn't known, but now everyone will know him. Great story. You'll buy the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge. Go See It!

    A FALLING DOWN DRUNK

    by MCZK

BESIDES THE FLIGHT SCENES AT THE BEGINNING, THE MOVE IS ABOUT THE MAIN CHACTER BEING FALLING DOWN DRUNK AND DENYING HE NEEDS HELP. THE MOVIE WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER IF THEY SHOWED HIM DOING THE HARD WORK TO TRY AND RECOVER, EVEN IF HE WENT BACKWARDS AT TIMES.

    It's a GO!

A good movie for adults. The big screen cinematography was excellent. Denzel did his usual excellent job. I especially liked Kelly Reilly in this movie and John Goodman.

    A Must-See Movie

This was a movie that kept me clinging on to the characters for days after I watched the movie. It moved me, it made me think and it was entertaining. Now, that's my kind of movie.
