    Flight

    by luthie

The movie was very good. It appeared so true to life based on some of the stories you
hear about some pilots. The ending was so unexpected. Denzel can make any movie
    seem true to life.

    One of Denzel Washington's Best!

Wow this is an amazing movie and Denzel Washington delivers one of his best performances. As the movie progresses you keep hoping that his character Whip will do the right thing. You feel his highs and lows and a sense of disappointment when he lets everyone down. This is a well written and well directed movie with a great cast. See it!!

    More Than One Crash

There's nothing funny about druggies and/or alcoholics holding life and death positions of power. Denzel turns in an excellent performance as a substance abuser so far in denial he must face prison to face his demons. The crash sequence is first rate. And the moral issues are explored without lectures. There are a lot of damaged people out there. They should not be flying air planes. Some people object to the nudity in the opening scene -- I don't know why they'd object. It humanizes a substance abuser who will prove heroic in the crisis and who will compell a naked emotional and moral confrontation later in the story. Fine performances all around (but I was not crazy about the blithe dealer portrayed by a John Goodman 30+ years out of date). The soundtrack was stuck in the wrong decade, too. Minor objections. Anyone with family or friends who abuse liquor or other drugs will know the captain. And will probably know the various enablers in his life.

    Brilliant performance

This was a brilliant performance by Denzel Washington. The special effects of the crash was great but seemed so real. John goodman was played his role as only John could play it.

Make Room for Another Oscar, Mr. Washington

I was expecting a good movie since most films starring Denzel Washington are 4-star flicks. But "Flight" caught me by surprise. From the first 15 minutes of the movie when it takes you on a stomach-churning, nail-biting airplane flight to the very end where a man's rocky life finds a soft landing, there's nothing but a 5-star ride on this "Flight."

    Flight

    by

More than what I was expecting. Denzel is fantastic, as always, as this very sad, sick man. It's powerful stuff. As the child of an alcoholic it was tough to watch. Could practically feel everyone in the theatre groaning as we were inwardly begging the character to do the right thing.

    Pretty good movie

The flight seen was pretty harrowing, especially if you fly. If was disturbing but real, I thought Denzel did an excellent job in the movie, you didn't know whether to like him or hate. He kept you torn. It was a good movie. I don't believe my wife will ever go up in another plane.

    A flight worth boarding

    by

While the trailers hinted at it being a movie about a mans character it didn't quite let on well atleast in my opinion on how much this mans addiction was. Denzel and the entire cast do incredible jobs at pulling together the tension surrounding the investigation and this Captains character study. Definitely not for kids though as every scene almost contains some form of alcohol or drug use. The actual event of the plane was intense and felt like being in the cockpit as this whole incident unfolded.

    Flight

I thought it was a great film, laughed, almost cried. Great story and exceptional the way they brought the characters together and Denzel nailed the role as usual. John Goodman was excellet as well; love it when these 2 work together.

    Fantastic, uncomfortable, and gripping

Bottom line, this is a fantastic movie. For anyone who has experienced a loved one with an alcohol problem, this is a hard movie to watch but a must see! The story line was not what I had originally thought it would be, or at least not as intense as I thought it would be. Each character was incredible, from denzel (of course), to don cheatle, to Denzel's recovering drug addict female companion.

I left the movie theater speechless for the first time in a long long time. A must see for anyone who enjoys a serious drama played by incredible actors. Three thumbs up.

    Awesome Movie

Superb. Another stellar performance by Denzel and John Goodman was the perfect actor for the supporting role. Excellent cast and superb acting. I would definitely see it again and can't wait to own it.

    Review For "Flight"

Boy - I really liked this movie. I only wish that alcoholics (both men and women) would just go see this movie, pay attention to it and see how their lives are just like this pilot's life - empty, and just "living for the ever mighty bottle". That bottle has the power to wreck your lives - it causes marriages and other relationships to break up, costs so much money to drink that people lose their houses, furniture, etc. I hope and pray that people all over this country that have major, major drinking problems., (i.e., they can't get out of bed without having a drink, they can't function or walk or talk without having a drink) - I hope they see this movie, and a big, big lightbulb goes off in their head and they "see the light" about how they are hurting themselves and others by drinking so much or by drinking at all. Denzel Washington played this part very well.

    entertainment at its best

    by

While the film was not what I expected, its more about the pilot's problem with drugs and alcohol, as well as personal integrity than the crash, it was 2 hours of sheer entertainment.

    Excellent Denzel movie!

    by SQ44

As always, Denzel is a terrific actor. The story interestingly develops, as does his character. If you are a Denzel W. fan, you will definitely love this well-made movie.

    Flight

A must see for those who are fighting the demon and feel lost and for those who have fought the demon and won. Inspiring story of function without consequence, hope without resolve and unconditional love.
