    Flight

An absolute tour de force from Denzel Washington. The trailer is a bit if a fooler - this is a movie mostly about an unflinching look at one man's battle with alcohol and drug addiction...hard to watch at times but incredibly affecting. The twist at the end of the movie comes as a surprise and is very satisfying.

    Flight

I liked the movie but didn't love it as much as I anticipated. Too much typecasting. Denzel played Denzel, John Goodman played whacky John Goodman. The ending was no surprise, really

It is definetly worth a trip to the theater. The in flight scenes should be seen on a big screen. The best part of the movie.

    Inspiring

    by rgwi

Had some funny moments but overall this was a sad commentary on addiction to alcohol.
One of Denzel Washington best performances. A MUST see for anyone that struggle with addiction or has family members that struggle.
Language and nudity not appropriate for kids.

    Flight: A first class movie

    by

Ive gotta say, the only reason I decided to see this movie to begin with is because Lincoln wasn't in yet andI wasn't in any mood to see the seven billionth James Bond movie. Ok, first of all, what I expected was a complete boring movie about a fantastic pilot avoiding a catastrophy. But, that assumption turned around, and here's why. The movie started off just as I suspected. The pilot did some crazy piloting. But, then they tested his blood, and found out he was realy drunk. It caught me realy off guard when the movie started focusing more, and more on all the bad things his bad alchohol addiction was for him. It showed me how addicting it can be, and that it's never too late to get help. It also reminded me that lieing never helps your situation, and can only add on more bad. The movie FLIGHT was a phinominal movie and I give it "5 out of 5". No movie has greatly impressed me like the movie FLIGHT did.

    Outstanding Acting and Dialogue!

The words spoken in this script jump off the screen and slap you in the face! A lot of scriptual messages that were lost because of the laughter of the spiritually immature and emotionally disengaged. Nevertheless, this will be a movie that I will see again and again. Loved it!

Interesting to see him play a character like this.

We are used to seeing Denzel in the "hero" role. However this time the hero has a flaw...a major one that for some might be hard to watch. This will have you thinking and talking about long after the movie is over.

    Lots to like about Flight

    by

Few actors completely embody a role quite like Denzel Washington and Robert Zemeckis weaves the story to a fascinating yet predictable conclusion. You can depend on Washington being able to pull you in and as always you become totally invested in his character. You simultaneously pull for him and hope for his success despite his incredible flaws.

There may have been a little too much backstory in the Kelly Reilly (Nicole) role that doesn't move the story along. We can completely grasp the fact that she is 'damaged' without all of the details of that damage. The story could have been enhanced better with more details and story of the the plane, the accident, and the subsequent investigation, but seemed as though the Directors decision was to concentrate on Washington's turmoil and fight with his own demons.

Don Cheadle was great in his fairly small role, but he is the kind of actor that can stand out in a seemingly second tier part.

    Was good!!!

Denzel did a awesome job as always. If you haven't read the storyline like me and only saw previews its a good story, but sad too. Its a well done drama flick and would recommend. Full nudity and heavy drug and drinking so think twice if bringing teens I guess.

    The Flight

Flight is far from up lifting but the acting is superb. It is definitely not for children. Very well done but don't expect to leave feeling happy!

    Flight

We loved it! My guy did not disappoint at all. The ending surprised me, but I love it when it's not predictable.. You do pull for him though through out the movie hoping he can get it together..
    The ending is powerful.

    Excellent Denzel movie!

    by SQ44

As always, Denzel is a terrific actor. The story interestingly develops, as does his character. If you are a Denzel W. fan, you will definitely love this well-made movie.

    Fly 2 see this movie

I was not prepared for such a great movie. As a former Drug and alcohol counselor, this is a movie that shows all the classic signs, symtoms, and stages of addiction (without boring you to death). Performances by all are spectacular. I have told everyone I have seen to go and see this. If movies were not so expensive, I would definately go again and again.

    Flight

    by Dawn N

Denzel Washington does a fabulous job of playing the alcoholic, drug abusing pilot Whip Whitaker. The director, Robert Zemekis, gives us a heart pounding, high anxiety airplane ride from the turbulent take off to the jaw clenching crash. "Flight" is worth seeing on the big screen. Even though we love Denzel Washington, it is hard to watch him as such a self abusive & tragic character. Don Cheadle does a wonderful job playing the slick attorney trying to spin evidence and bury the damning drug test against Whip Whitaker. But it was John Goodman's amazing portrayal of Whip's drug dealer that actually brings some unexpected, but much needed, comic relief to this very intense film. The fact that John Goodman made a scummy drug dealer into someone the audience wanted to applaud when he arrived on the scene is truly genius! Even though there's a lot of melodrama and some parts of "Flight" that don't really come together, Denzel Washington does a great job!

    Flight

Great movie! But then, anything with Denzil Washington is great! As usual, he does an outstanding job. This movie will be nominated with several awards including director and would not be surprised to see Washington once again be nominated for an acadamy award - and win!!
