"Pitch Perfect" isn't quite
Saw it last night, in a nearly empty theater - NOT a good way to see a comedy. I'd say it was blandly likeable and thoroughly predictable. Anna Kendrick, made up to appear prettier than she really is (yes, that is catty, but I'd have believed her character more if there had been at least one reference to all of that eye makeup...which no one else was wearing!), was still perfectly able to bring her role to life. All of the other females, while far, far older than college age, held their own and Rebel Wilson stole every scene. Skylar Astin (where'd he come from?) is totally likeable and charming. The script has so many holes in it, it isn't worth commenting, really. Besides, if you go to a teen musical for the plotting, you're in the wrong theater.
One final word: I don't know about anyone else, but I have never, ever witnessed anyone vomiting explosively or otherwise. Twice in one movie from the same person? What did I tell you about the script...?!
