    Great movie!

Story development was excellent, and that is was based on a true story made it even better. It was very funny, sad and happy all at the same time. Definitely recommend it!

    Honest, honest movie

This movie was breathtakingly honest from start to finish. The script was very straight-forward, subtle, touching and based on a true story. I loved the wit and courage of the main character, the tenderness and humanity of the Helen Hunt's character and the vulnerability and nakedness of the
story. It is right out there in your face with nudity, sensuality and love of the most touching kind.
Do not miss this movie! I loved it.

    Go see The Sessions....

    by RADDAD

The is a beautiful but, emotionally draining film.

It deals with very real, very difficult topics of the human existence and does so in a profound way. It is truly a must-see for emotionally mature individuals and couples.

    WONDERFUL!

Should be up there for Best Picture-Has a little bit of everything

I heard about this small indy-film but had no idea how good it would be. John Hawkes plays his part perfectly as a disabled man on a quest to get laid. With seemingly insurmountable odds to overcome just to get by, this guy showed his true spirit and how no matter how bad the situation there is a way to get what you want in the end. With each caretaker providing a little more insight into his remarkable life, you will no doubt laugh and cry within minutes. Even though it's a little short, about 90 minutes, there is more than enough time to cover how this guy gets to live his life the way he wants. It's a refreshing movie and will make you walk out of this movie thinking twice about complaining of that back pain or knee pain. A must see if you are into dramatic films based on a true story

    The Sessions

Outstanding acting by a terrific cast. Delves into the complexities of all types of relationships. Smart script. Went with friends - we're all in our 50s. We all felt like it was well worth the time and price of the ticket.

    The Sessions

This had the potential to be a wonderful story and with skillful acting instead of repeated nudity of a very nice looking Hunt, I would have rated higher. Little is left to the imagination of creativity. I'm sorry, but I would be embarrassed to recommend this to my friends. VERY awkward. Felt like I was at a soft core porno.
As wonderful as John Hawkes portrayed his character, he was overshadowed with mediocrity. If you can't act, get naked.
Forest Gump, House of the Flying Daggers, heck, even soaps portray sexuality with much more class and intimacy. A lot to be said for leaving the act to our imagination. We could of figured it out. Don't you think?
    Very Poor presentation.

    The Sessions

Helen Hunt was great & has great body. The film was funny, sad and at the same time had this bright outlook about it that you couldn't help but totally enjoy the two characters.. We enjoyed it greatly. I think a lot of neurotic[s] need to go see this. Great film.

I loved It.. but not for everyone

I very much enjoyed this well-written and touching story. You have to get the humor right on this film and they did. Very strong performances throughout the cast. The subject is tastefully treated, but there's explicit nudity and the frank sexual content make it not the perfect holiday choice for everyone. I rated it up a bit because I think it deserves everyone's consideration.

    Great film

Great story, casting, and acting. Not for those that are prudish. A LOT of nudity and sex BUT they are key to the story and aren't used cheaply. John Hawkes is Fantastic and Helen Hunt is great . They both bring their "A" games. I see nominations for both in the near future. The film is touching at times but more often than not it is flat out funny. I give this an A- .So go see it just know that you will be seeing adult content.

    Incredible!!!

This is a beautiful, heart warming movie. Made more so as it is based on an actual like lived in an Iron Lung. The acting is terrific. It is joyous, sad, and hopeful.

    Incredible

What a beautifufl and moving story The two leads are brilliant in their roles. So emtionally involving. The real Mark O'Brien must have been an amazing person to know. Lots of humor as well.

    The funny,heartfelt,loving sex sessions

    by seecofj

What a remarkable movie about a truly wondrous man. An ode to the human spirit under such bizarre circumstances. Anyone who who is bored with life should see it and perhaps not in a preachy way (no pun intended) rethink his or her own approach to sex, marriage, disability and the idea of life worth living. This movie stays with you for a long time. It's fun, quirky and thought-provoking. The music, actors direction and subject were so well done. Bravo!

    John vs Daniel

John Hawkes will win the Oscar for best actor for playing a character similar to the one played by Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot (for which he won an Oscar.) William H. Macy is fun to watch in whatever he does. Helen Hunt is always monotone to me, but people like fearless, and in this movie she is. Very enjoyable movie. Smart screenplay.

PeterPragnell Watched 'The Sessions'. As well as the "she's naked for 90% of her screen time" thing, it's a beautiful, moving, life-enhancing film. #fb
