    Terrible!!

    This movie has to be on my list of one of the worst movies ever... I really do not recommend this movie. The plot was terrible and the ending made no sense.... Terrible

    Netflix or Red Box It

    I saw this title in the theaters. Not because it appealed to any film inclination of my own, but it was date night and we had to watch something. Surprisingly, this film is solid. The story, direction, casting and acting, all work. There are a couple of plot twist stirred up in the gumbo to keep you on your toes. And a raunchy sex scene or two, to cater to your inner voyeur. This is a genuine matinee or Netflix title. You won't want to lay down full price for this title, but home rental or the dollar cinema? YES! You won't be disappointed. Spoiler alert Chanting Tatum dies. But I am sure you knew that right?

    fine for matinee money, but bad for evening money

    If you're going to pay a matinee price it isn't a horrible movie, it just isn't very good either. Don't pay evening movie prices to see it.

    Zeta-Jones and Tatum played their characters without any range; perhaps that is what the roles called for but it didn't make them interesting characters. Jude Law was fine and Rooney Mara was fine, none were brilliant, and the whole movie seemed a bit forced. It's hard to say too much without revealing plot details; suffice it to say that you won't hate the movie, but you won't want to buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray down the road.

    I expected better - based on the cast - and left disappointed.

    Wow

    This is a must see movie with an unexpected twist. I don't usually give reviews on movies, but this one was worth doing so. If you're only into hard-charging action movies with lots of violence and could care less about the story-line, then this movie is not for you. However, if you enjoy a good story then you must see this movie.

    Slow starter but great movie

    Movie started a bit slow but really loved it by the end. Love the twist and the acting is great. Certainly not what I was expecting but left very satisfied. Jude Law, Catherine Zeta Jones, Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum all did incredible.

    Greed, Betrayal, Conning, Scheming...

    It was all "in there".
    Great acting by all.
    More importantly was the screen play and the narrative.
    That was totally superb. Showed the cunning nature of man...in this case, a woman.
    I didn't budge an inch from my seat during the entire movie...it was rivetting.

    SEE THIS MOVIE!!

    This movie is full of intrigue, twists and turns. Rooney Mara did an outstanding job. I highly recommend it. This movie is not for kids. No explosions, no profanity, just a plain, good storyline. It should put the pharmaceutical industry on notice.

    Side Effects Review

    I enjoyed this movie. A nice change. Not just another roll in the hay love story. It's nice to see a Hitchcock twist for a change. I was disappointed that "eye candy" was killed off, but that is part of the premise of the story. The acting is great, especially the female lead. She is bewitching. This is definitely not a film for children. If you like psychological thrillers, this is the one to see!

    Great cast, but did not really like the story. A little confusing at times. How in the heck could be married to Channing Tatum and (not going to spoil it for others). I would wait for the DVD.

    side effects

    surprisinglu successful at offering a completely unexpected ending-unexpected but legitimate
    for the three main characters. excellent acting by newbie rooney mara and also by "stars" Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It was good to see Z-J playing a real part and not even trying to show off her beauty.

    Good somewhat odd movie

    Intriguing storyline on this, some interesting twists as well as cliches. One best to stay awake or you'll really get caught off guard in trying to figure out the puzzle presented. Incredible performances by Rooney Mara and Jude Law, so perhaps worth the admission price for that. Somewhat of a swipe at the pharmaceutical industry and a dive into folks with drug dependencies. That being said, not sure how I really feel about this one. It's definitely "not" a 'must go' but if you happen to be at the theater and not sure what to see, worth a viewing i guess. But if you miss this one at the theater, it's aok, as catching it on VOD or Cable will save you some bucks.

    I thought it was a good movie. We always rate the movies from 1 to 10. Ten being the best and one being the worst. I rate it an 8. My husband gave it a 7. And adult son gave it a 6.

    Not for depressed people on medications.

    I saw Side Effects with someone who is on anti depressants for severe depression. He was having a very hard time watching this movie and would have left if the theater we saw the movie in didn't have comfortable reclining lounge chairs. Loved the cast and twists and turns. It did get much better as it went along. I wasn't expecting a thriller but that is what it turned out to be. Good acting and thought provoking story. You left thinking surprised at the outcomes and satisfied with the ending. I would not recommend this for children or people on medications. It wasn't a great movie but it was certainly a good movie.

    Good Movie Could Have Been Great

    Side Effects had a good story, cast and script - lots of mis-direction and some very good acting. However, the cinematography left room for improvement. Get rid of the hand held camera techniques!

    Well written movie full of suspense. It is worth paying the bucks to see. We love our remodeled AMC at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta. It is like watching a movie in a luxury home theater.
