MedRed's comment prrof that he is just another ignorant fool who misuses the diagnosis "Bipolar disorder"

MedRed's comment is obviously made by just another ignorant fool who misuses the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder--a disease--in an inaccurate and mean-spirited way.

FYI-people with this disorder who are on meds are just like you (well, maybe not YOU) and me.

It's like having diabetes and treating it--just like any other disorder.

Get it together! And stop maligning some of the most successful and creative people you'll never have the opportunity to know. Because they're Fortune 500 CEOs and movie stars who wouldn't have any reason to associate with reduced IQ people like you.

    Review of Side Effects

    by

Dark, cerebral, complex film, with unexpected plot twists and some intense scenes. The movie is solidly rooted within the tradition of Alfred Hitchcock. Mb Kucala, MBA

    B O R I N G...

This is my first ever movie review, and i'm doing it to save at least one poor soul from utter boredom...

The positives are: Good Cast and Good story...

The negatives: It moves at a snails pace.. I was literally bored out of my mind.. It had twists, but I was so bored I didn't even care about them, I just wanted it to end.. I enjoyed the trailer way more than the actual movie..

I liked Jude Law's performance. But the film was rather lowering generally. Not a 'feel good' or thrilling experience. Kind of interesting ... Sorry, that's the best I can say about it

    Twisted and good

    by

The story unfolds in an unexpected way about halfway through, and you have to pay attention to keep up with everything. There is a lot of content about depression and drugs, and a little bit of violence, so be ready for that. Overall it is a very good movie and I'm glad I saw it.

Good Way to spend an Evening

    by lynnyb

Rooney Mara does an outstanding job as the main character. The story builds and keeps you guessing as you see Jude Law's life crumble after events that he could never have predicted.
The plot twists and turns and overall it was excellent. I would definitely recommend.

    Interesting, surprising, and suspenseful!

I must say, I was quite surprised with "Side Effects!" The four main characters worked well together. Is it the side-effects of the medication, or something more? An intelligent, well thought out script. Oh yeah, honestly, Channing Tatum needs to play more roles such as this to be taken seriously as a good actor. Good melodramatic score.

    Side Effects

I enjoyed the film, however it seemed like it was a remake of another movie. The plot lacked depth as to why a career/life was ruined. There was something suspenseful about the movie because it kept my interest throughout but the why of the storyline again makes the movie a little boring and predictable.

    WOW

    by ccavrn

I love a movie that makes you think, has twists and turns and is unpredictable. This fits that description to a tee. It has not been hyped or pushed as it should be, it is one of the best movies about the risks and unknowns of medications and a great flick for plot twists and unexpected events. Rooney Mara does a great job as a true psycho...

    Pleasantly surprised

    by Sodium

My husband and I had a date night and felt there weren't many interesting choices this week. We settled on Side Effects because of the reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised that it was such a dramatic movie. The twists in the plot were totally unexpected, and left us talking about it all the way home. The story line was fresh, creative and unpredictable. The acting was excellent, and the characters believable. Because the plot was so well written, I'd like to see it a second time now after knowing the ending. It will keep you thinking for days.

Fabulous move. I recommend it in the theatre, but it will be a popular rental, too.

    Different

The movie was slow at times but very suspenseful. It had an unexpected ending and several twists. I would highly recommend seeing it for yourself. The movie is not for children under 18.

    Just o.k.

Not very good.... not like advertised. And almost no Channing Tatum.... Why is he listed as a lead when he is not a lead at all.

Loved the movie. Couldn't figure out what was happening but really got the premise of it when it ended. Tooooo bad Channing had to die so early in the movie.

    Good somewhat odd movie

Intriguing storyline on this, some interesting twists as well as cliches. One best to stay awake or you'll really get caught off guard in trying to figure out the puzzle presented. Incredible performances by Rooney Mara and Jude Law, so perhaps worth the admission price for that. Somewhat of a swipe at the pharmaceutical industry and a dive into folks with drug dependencies. That being said, not sure how I really feel about this one. It's definitely "not" a 'must go' but if you happen to be at the theater and not sure what to see, worth a viewing i guess. But if you miss this one at the theater, it's aok, as catching it on VOD or Cable will save you some bucks.

fine for matinee money, but bad for evening money

If you're going to pay a matinee price it isn't a horrible movie, it just isn't very good either. Don't pay evening movie prices to see it.

Zeta-Jones and Tatum played their characters without any range; perhaps that is what the roles called for but it didn't make them interesting characters. Jude Law was fine and Rooney Mara was fine, none were brilliant, and the whole movie seemed a bit forced. It's hard to say too much without revealing plot details; suffice it to say that you won't hate the movie, but you won't want to buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray down the road.

I expected better - based on the cast - and left disappointed.
