    Movie fizzled at the end

    It's actually a decent movie from the beginning. But it could have concluded better. The writer took the easy way to end this movie. It's still worth seeing though. Just lower your expectation a little bit.

    B O R I N G...

    This is my first ever movie review, and i'm doing it to save at least one poor soul from utter boredom...

    The positives are: Good Cast and Good story...

    The negatives: It moves at a snails pace.. I was literally bored out of my mind.. It had twists, but I was so bored I didn't even care about them, I just wanted it to end.. I enjoyed the trailer way more than the actual movie..

    Side Effects

    I enjoyed the film, however it seemed like it was a remake of another movie. The plot lacked depth as to why a career/life was ruined. There was something suspenseful about the movie because it kept my interest throughout but the why of the storyline again makes the movie a little boring and predictable.

    Boring, pointless

    I haven't seen a movie this boring in a long, long time. I fell asleep about a dozen times throughout the movie, and I wasn't even sleepy. Can't believe Jude and Catherine said yes to this. Unbelievable. AVOID!

    Dark and depressing

    Acting was great. If it weren't for the two hot famous actors, I would have been bored. Very slow but the filming and the suspenseful storyline kept me enthralled, I was not expecting any of the twists and turns. It got a little hectic towards the end otherwise if you like this sort of movie, I would recommend it. There are no laughs or smiles. It got darker and darker as it went. I left the movie not feeling good. I felt really depressed. If a movie can bring out an emotion that strong, the acting must have been pretty darn good. ( note: I don't take medication and I am not depressed normally)

    Taut and shocking thriller

    NO SPOILERS: Tightly directed and fast paced. Stellar performances. Very stylish and modern NYC setting. Hugely entertaining!

    Great flick - better than expected. Jude Law"less" is perfect

    I did not expect, nor predict, the ending - and that's a rarity for me. Great performances by all lead actors, especially Rooney Mara. I really enjoyed the spotlight this shines on Big Pharma. Go see it!

    Boreing...

    The moving was boring and bad. What else can I say other than I fell asleep for half the movie and did not miss a thing. I did have a very nice snooze. So, if you need a good hour or two of sleep see this movie or don't and save a few bucks. My wife who was awake for the whole show said she was sorry she had not followed me to zzzzzzzzzzz land, too.

    Great Movie

    This was a great movie if you like drama and suspense. It kept me and my husband on the edge wanting to know what happens next! Great acting as well!

    I'm just not sure...

    I'm not sure what it was about this movie... The plot line was really good. Maybe it was the acting? I saw Rooney Mara in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and thought she was incredible. In Side Effects... not so much. Channing Tatum didn't quite seem to fit. Jude Law was fantastic. I really enjoyed him in this movie. I also really like Catherine Zeta-Jones, but there is one scene (which I will not describe in order to avoid a spoiler) that I just felt was awkward and insincere. It was not remotely believable. I liked a lot of the camera angles and lighting. It promoted the scenes well. There were a few scenes that the camera was really shaky. I liked the outcome of the movie. Maybe a different actor or two and it would have been better. I think it's worth seeing because the plot is good and it has some excellent twists right up until the end. But I wish I would have rented it after it came out on DVD rather than spent the exorbitant amount of money to see it in the theater

    This is no Fatal Attraction!

    I heard this compared to Fatal Attraction. Geez! Although it has a great cast, the script doesn't have any real edge to it other than the actual murder scene.

    Side Effects

    At first, I thought this movie was way too slow. Things were happening and you thought, is this going to go anywhere? Then later on, things start progressing a little faster, almost a little too fast. And finally, there's a great twist at the end. I would tell people to go see it but I would also tell them to be prepared for the slow beginning.

    Pleasantly surprised

    My husband and I had a date night and felt there weren't many interesting choices this week. We settled on Side Effects because of the reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised that it was such a dramatic movie. The twists in the plot were totally unexpected, and left us talking about it all the way home. The story line was fresh, creative and unpredictable. The acting was excellent, and the characters believable. Because the plot was so well written, I'd like to see it a second time now after knowing the ending. It will keep you thinking for days.

    Fabulous move. I recommend it in the theatre, but it will be a popular rental, too.

    as good as it looked

    saw the trailer for this and it interested me.. wasn't disappointed when i saw it in theatres, great acting and a very realistic story as well as ending.. there are VERY limited moments of you thinking "no one would ever do that" which seems to plague movies these days.. jude law and catherine zeta jones are on point as usual, but some very good development is shown with tatum and mara who are just a notch below their A-list counterparts.. overall well done, gotta see it..

    Not very good.... not like advertised. And almost no Channing Tatum.... Why is he listed as a lead when he is not a lead at all.
