    Hitchcock

Probably age-limited to those who saw the original Psycho in 1960, and there were plenty. With such an acclaimed film, it was interesting to learn how very difficult it was for its release!! An inside view of Alfred and Alma's troubled marriage well acted by all of the actors. I would rate this as a so-so movie.

For the serious Hitchcock fans only...

Just checked out Hitchcock last night. I for one loved it but I am a big fan of the director the subject of the film, so I went in with excitement. As a stand alone film I thought the story could have been a little stronger but overall the performances were spot on and amazing. Anthony Hopkins & Helen Mirren hit the mark and became the couple that ruled suspense and macabre film kingdom as the time in hollywodd. And the supporting cast was amazing! I came away satisfied that I step into the voyeristic view of the great director and his wife in a pivotal time in his movie career. It was fun to see how Psycho came to be. I was inspired.

The Master of Suspense - all over again

It's a MUST GO and See movie for the holidays. Five-and-a-half thumbs up for both Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. Anthony Hopkins as the master of suspense - very convincing! You would really think he was Hitch himself, the way he moves and talk. Helen Mirren of course, well... it's Helen Mirren - I could watch her just to peel potatoes.

Scar Jo also shines in this movie. Very well acted - the way she portrays Ms. Janet Leigh in this moviementary was exactly like it was in the original movie. There are times during the movie that you would feel they were actually filming the original Psycho. Nicely "well done".

Makes you wanna see the original Psycho all over again.

    Hitchcock

The film is well acted obviously from this remarkable cast.
I found the film interesting from an educational view point.
Hitchcock's success was before I was old enough to savior his work.
So I was fascinated to learn more.
It is not a block buster with lots of AHH's.
It is a solid film, with great acting.

    Hitchcock

I went expecting an ok time. Not what I got. No siree! It was riveting. It was a joy to watch Hopkins take on this tough role. Unless you stared at his piercing eyes you really didn't know it was him. The backstory of his relationship with his wife and her role in his moviemaking career was enlightening. Pure fun....get up off the couch and see it. I do not know why it is not showing on more screens......a shame really,

    Pretty Good

Very strong cast. Hopkins is unrecognizable and marvellous in the lead. Helen Mirren is also tremendous. Scarlett is passable as Janet Leigh, which, frankly, is pretty good for her. The movie gives some insight into what Hitchcock had to put on the line for this movie that redifined the genre.

    Brilliant film

    by

I loved every second of this movie. Stunning performances by Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. I learned so much about the fascinating Hitchcock. I would even see it again, just to see Anthony Hopkins' amazing portrayal of the legendary Hitchcock. Highly recommend.

    Worth a movie ticket

Nice look into the life of one of America's greatest filmmakers. And in particular the role his wife played for many many years behind the scenes in his successes. Great performances by both Helen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins.

    Well Done

Enjoyed this movie. I have admired Hitchcock's work, and was entertained thoroughly to see his complicated personality and relationships, and how they influenced his creativity. The backstory of "Psycho" was enlightening.

    Hitchcock Smashing Hit

Really liked this movie as the acting was superior and I liked the way they developed the partnership and marriage of he and his wife. The acting on the part of both central players was exceptional and the movie moved along and kept my interest. I also felt that Ms Johansen did a very good job with her role as well. This is an adult film and I highly recommend it.

    Hitchcock is Masterful

    by pedsarq

The so-called "Master of Suspense" appears to have had some climactic revelations in his personal life with his wife, Alma Hitchcock, during the period when he produced the movie Psycho. The role of his wife is well-played by the amazing Helen Miren. This movie postulates the theory that his wife played a pivotal role in most of Hitchcock's films, which seems plausible since she was in the moviemaking business before Hitchcock and was even his boss at one point. . The movie does do an eloquent job of outlining Hitchcock's transgressions with his "Hitchcock blonde" leading ladies and his infatuation with Vera Miles and Grace Kelly. The movie also gives us a glimpse at how prudish and prohibitive the movie industry and the U.S. government were during the late 1950s. It's a miracle that Hitchcock was able to manage to produce such creative films during those restrictive times.

    Hitchcock

Excellent film and Hopkins really pulled off his role as Hitckcock. Great behind the scenes craziness of Hollywood in the mid to late 50's. Story moved well and the supporting cast was excellent as well. A must see!!!!!!!!!!

    Superb picture!

Well done to the cast, screen writer, and director! Excellent movie. I loved the scene where Hitch gets the most out of Janet Leigh in the shower scene. Now I can understand his pictures a bit better, since it appears his wife, Alma, was very much involved with his career for soooo many years.
