    Disappointment for a valentine release!!!!!

I enjoyed the book, the movie is HORRIBLE: poor representation of the best seller. to many changes. From start to finish the movie leaves out and changes to many details that makes it exciting, and lacking in special effects, I should have stayed home and read the second book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good Movie

    by breez44

If you read the book you will find the movie a slight departure from the story you read, but it still is a decent movie. I thought the Riley character was played down too much and Lena was too strong. The casting and acting was pretty good. You should see it for yourself.

    Beautiful Creatures

    by suemi24

My husband and i, went to go see Beautiful Creatures on Sunday 2/17/13. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The outcome was not what we had expected. Would differently recommend it to my family and friends. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 8.

If you like paranomal romance movies.

I enjoyed this movie. A few scenes were a little silly, but overall I like the movie. I liked all the characters, actors and most of the special effects. My 24 year old daughter and I both liked the movies but thought the main characters accent in the beginning of the movie was a little over the top.

    Why?

First off I'm just going to say this; Hollywood needs to learn what to cut and what not to cut from movies that were originally books. Beautiful Creatures is a really good book series; and I was very upset at the fact that in the movie the cut out some of the monumental moments in the book to lead onto the next book. The writers and directors cut out too many of the important parts of the book for me to get into the movie. The entire time I watched it I was saying "they got this wrong" "what were they thinking leaving (fill in scene or person) out" and "ok they at least got that part right". As an avid book lover it pains me to see a really good book turned into a mediocre movie. I'm not saying that the actors weren't good; I'm just saying content and based off of the book; it wasn't a good movie. Now for those that haven't read the series and have no intention of reading them may be confused or like it depending on the person.

Not quite the story the book told

Although the movie was visually pleasing it didn't quite follow the story line of the book. Scenes were created that weren't part of the book and important things from the book were not touched on. In the end, we looked at each other and said "What the he## was that?" If you haven't read the books you will probably enjoy this movie.

    It was OK

    by Ammocel

I went to see this movie cause I thought I would enjoy it... I did enjoy it but not as much as I would have thought i would. At heart I knew it was a love story with some witch action. The love story is correct but don't feel natural kinda feels forced. There were some witch magic but very very rare in this film. They made it sound like the evil witch of the movie powerful but she was pretty pathetic at the end when the confrontation came. Overall this movie is so so. If you got nothing else to see then check it out... but wait till it comes out for rental.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED

I am a book nerd so of course I read the books. Went to see the movie earlier and I am utterly disappointed!! Marian is NOT in the movie! WTF? Ethan cooking for himself.....he NEVER did that in the book. I don't want to give away anymore spoilers, but there were LOTS of changes in the movie that did NOT happen in the first book. I wish I could get my money back! Ugh.

    Just ok

    by LiviaL

Probably a miss cast of main character. Didn't connect with her at all. It was ok, enjoyed other characters in movie, it got boring but picked up, then kinda fell apart in one scene. Wait for on demand.

    -_-

I remember watching The Hunger Games and thinking, wow, they did not stick with the source material and missing all the important stuff. Compared to Beautiful Creatures, that movie was a masterpiece. As a fan of the Castor Chronicles, I have to say DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. If you loved the books, you will HATE this movie. I know no book to movie adaption will ever be like the book. But this movie didn't even have the essence that made Beautiful Creatures such a good book. The direction is awful. The script is HORRIBLE. Just. don't see this movie. These people don't deserve your money.

    EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

    by

You know, this movie had the potential to be bigger than the Twilight Saga. And thank you Hollywood for sending that CRASHING to the ground. I have read and dissected every book out of enjoyment, and this movie completely RUINED the story. Fail, fail, fail. 2 thumbs down, would not recommend.

    Beautiful Creatures

This is a supernatural teenage love story [No , It's not a 'Twilight' sequel] that takes place in South Carolina [But , It could be trying to attract the 'Twilight' audience] . It's based on a series of books [4 , to the best of my knowledge] about a 15 year old girl that is a witch [but they prefer the term , Caster] and on her 16th birthday , she becomes either good or evil [there is a countdown of the days on her wrist that looks like a tattoo] . Alice plays the young Caster that falls in love with Alden but is afraid that she will hurt him when she changes [she is afraid she will turn evil] . Jeremy is her protective uncle and Emma plays the mother of one of Alden's friends .
If you like the 'Twilight' movies you should enjoy this one , too [I thought it was a little better than the 'Twilight' movies] . I would probably buy this on DVD .

    Good movie but....

I really enjoyed the movie but I hate when someone fakes a Southern Accent! There are many actors with real accents that could play the part and if you have to fake an accent get the region correct. That was a Mississippi accent not a South Carolina accent we too in the South have different accents for different regions.

    Overall good movie

This movie has an interesting feel to it. Its a different type of Romantic love story. This movie has a nice charm to it, and is unabashed to take on deep regional religious tones and almost interweave them into a nice story. A good movie for kids and adults in my opinion.
