    Good, but something missing

    I really enjoyed it, but kept feeling like some crucial information was missing. Really light on back story, and that made it hard to understand the motivations of the supporting characters. But excellent performances by the entire cast, and the effects didn't swamp the story.

    Meh

    This was not too bad of a movie for people who have NOT read the book. For those who have, speaking for myself, I felt it could have been much better. It was as if the director's skimmed the book and transposed the 'gist' of it into a movie. I think they also had a low budget to work with which is why one of the main characters in the book (Marian) was not present and Amma filled two roles.

    Movie Sucked!

    The best part of the movie was displayed in the previews. It was long, dragged out and completly disappointing. It was so exciting that the man behind me snored through the entire movie. I was never so glad to see credits roll, I knew we should have went and seen Bruce Willis....

    I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MOVIE CAN'T BE TO THE LETTER OF THE BOOK, BUT COME ON WHERE ARE ALL THE CHARACTERS PLEASE ETHAN FINDS THE LOCKET ON HIS OWN IN THE FIRST 10 MIN OF THE MOVIE AND THE BOOK REALLY IN THE LIBRARY FOR PETES SAKE GET SOMETHING RIGHT WON'T YOU AND RIDLEY SHORT RED HAIR WHAT HAPPENED TO LONG BLONDE HAIR AND WHERE WAS THE LOLYPOP REALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY OF THE MOVIES NOW A DAYS SHOULD OF WAITED FOR THE DVD.

    Didn't follow the book

    Well the movie was still good but for those of us that read the book there are missing key characters so don't be surprised if you do go...I am not sure about the creative team on this one if they were on a budget or just trying to keep the movie under 2 hours like the first movie in the Twilight series there may be hope if they don't skimp on the necessary details in the book to build these characters properly.

    The movie wasn't bad but very disappointing!

    I'm only putting so-so because it wasn't a bad movie but if you loved the books you may vote a OH NO!!! I loved all of the books. I was so excited to see the movie. Whomever made the movie completely and totally screwed up. Why change something as great as the book. They removed 2 great characters and tried to make it one person. Both characters in the book were a huge part of the story. I can't help but feel sad that it was nothing like I was expecting. BAD JOB!!!!!!

    Unexpected surprise

    I was very excited to see this movie but only because I thought it looked cute. To my surprise this fantastic production had me crying, laughing and on my seat with suspense. Love the mystery and twists. GREAT GREAT STORY!!!

    Beautiful Creatures

    Beautiful Creatures is a movie that is worth waiting to see on DVD. Didn't expect it to be more of a cute love story than a movie about witch craft.

    Entertaining

    Unlike many who have reviewed this movie, I have the advantage of NOT having read the books so I can review the movie for what it is. It was entertaining. Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson were very good (as always) despite the movie's lack of continuity. The "newer" actors were not too bad either. I did feel like they were trying to cram as much as possible into 1.5 hrs. That doesn't work too well. However, if the movie were longer it would have been too much since it does at times move at a slow pace (and I do mean slow). There are no surprises here, just an OK movie to pass the time by yourself, with friends or a date.

    Now for those who have read the books, I get the disappointment, but please keep in mind that very few book/movie adaptations are in alignment. If you just want to see a cute movie that is clean (no gore, language or nudity), I recommend you go. Otherwise, wait for the DVD.

    BEAUTIFUL CREATURES

    I don't think it's fair to rate this movie simply because some story lines are different from the book. (no- I did not read the book so maybe it's good) However...I rate the movie highly from the story, plot and the acting. The way the two main characters felt for each other really pulled me in and the special effects of the movie.
    I am not disappointed at all and I do plan on adding this movie to my DVD home collection.
    I loved this movie and I look forward to any other movies to follow this like the book collection.

    Live a Little

    I didn't want to see this movie at all. The previews for it looked decent, but the advertising for the movie, overall, was terrible. They could have done so much with advertising, but I get that they spent fifty to sixty million on the movie--wowza! The two main characters weren't well-known, which was taking a risk, but the story was sweet and quirky, sometimes sexy and dangerous. This movie lets the lady take control and leaves the guy trailing behind, something that doesn't usually happen in movies; I really appreciated the female-driven plot. At first, the accent killed me, but I didn't really notice once the movie got going. It's a good movie to see, end of story. I just hope that viewers will give the two lead characters a chance and actually get to theaters, even if it's only because they were drawn in by secondary characters. Let's hope for more of the series!

    Great movie!

    I haven't read the book, so that may be why I am not disappointed as many were. It was a great movie with a nice love story. Absolutely great actors! I doubted it a bit at first when I saw the trailers but I am sure glad I went through with seeing it. At no moment during the movie was I bored or felt disengaged. As the critic said, it was in my opinion, a bit better story between the two main cast members than Twilight. I definitely think it is worth seeing!
    Other notes are it is something anybody can see and enjoy. It had some humor to it as well during several points and the graphics were really good.

    WHAT THE?!?!?!

    My bff, daughter and I were so excited to see this movie today. We saw the preview during Breaking Dawn P2 and it made us want to read the books, so we all read them, and I don't know what the hell the director, writer or anyone involved with this movie was thinking. I cannot believe the authors of the books would even go along with the screenplay or did they even have a clue as to how HORRIBLE it was? The movie was at 4:20 then with all the previews then that disappointment they call a movie we were out of there by 5:05. Talk about LAME! The whole time we kept looking at each other asking WHAT THE? I am glad we didn't stick around to see the ending which from the reviews we read after we got home make it seem that the film got even worse. Highly disappointed. Would be nice if another team took on the real dialogue and made a real adaptation film. Where was Boo Radley? and the hearse? and the beater that barely ever starts? And really the locket? Six thumbs down DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

    Walked out!!

    So maybe this movie might be palatable if you haven't read the books, however I doubt it. The acting is bad. The dialogue is bad. The directing is bad. If you are expecting to see a loved book come to life on the big screen, you end up being disgusted. The movie butchers the story. My fiance and I went looking forward to a cute movie, and after an hour and a half of suffering we finally decided to leave before throwing refreshments at the screen. There is little action, the attempts at comedy are pathetic with a mix of slapstick and third grade humor, and the supposed drama loses any effect with the abysmal acting. Save yourself the time and money, SKIP this movie.

    Very repetitious

    The plot took so long to build up to the climax, it got boring and monotonous. It would have been a good TV movie of the week. The acting and special effects were OK, but it needed a better and more concise story. I have not read the book and after seeing this I will not.
