    Must Go

    by

I did not see this movie in theaters the first time around, but discovered it years later. After seeing it re-imagined in 3-D I was amazed and very happy that I got to see it in 3-D. That being said I hope that they will also re-do it in a fully 3-D version. I understand the difficulty in adding 3-D to a movie that was originally shot in 2-D. All in all it was amazing and I was quite impressed with the conversion that they were able to pull off.

20 Years Later, Jurassic Park Is Still A Delight

This event had been building up for several months now, my friends and I exclaiming, "Jurassic Park in 3D Imax, let's GO!" Inevitably Saturday rolled around and we were not disappointed or let down in the slightest.

Here's how I'll break it down:
If you absolutely adore/love this classic movie, you must go and see it, even if you just simply enjoy Jurassic Park, or dinosaurs or a fun time at the movies, Jurassic Park's anniversary re-release will give you all of these things AND in 3D!

The dinosaurs and the park never looked better as did the extreme-close-ups on Sam Jackson's mouth with the cigarette eternally dangling from it. I heard sounds within the dinosaurs roars that I had never heard before because the sound was so ear-drum blastingly-good.

On top of it all, this re-release is a celebration. A celebration of how much fun one can have at the movies, a celebration of a great director's vision and a celebration of Jurassic Park.

    Pleasantly surprised

Have loved this movie since I first saw it in theaters when I was 8, so couldn't pass up a chance to see it in theaters again. That being said I sent in with mixed expectations based on the poor execution of 3D movies I have seen before. In the end I was very pleased. While being shot in 2D 20 years ago, this edit had more immersive and better rendered 3D quality than any "3D" movie I have seen before. The WHOLE movie was in 3D rather than just a few seconds here and there and wasn't all about objects flying at you or on and off the screen (which quite frankly just give me a migraine). All in all, fantastic!

    Awesome

The music. The great effects. Jeff Goldblum's one-liners. Still one of the most purely entertaining films ever made. Highly recommend seeing while it is still out...we just saw the basic 3D version but would have loved to see the IMAX.

I thought the 3D conversion was great as well. Yes, it intensified some of the dino-attacks of course, but I was more impressed by the additional scenery depth I had never noticed before. Overall - totally worth the money/time!

    Fantastic!

I've now seen this move in theaters 1 time in regular 3D and 3 times in Regal's RPX 3D. It was great! I remember watching this with my dad as a kid and wishing I had been old enough to see it in theaters then. This version did not disappoint! If I could, I'd be going again!

    love it completely

    by

This movie is amazing, it makes you remember when setting in the theater just how amazing this movie really was. There is not a lot of noticeable difference in the 3rd but you can only do so much with a movie that was not original made for 3rd but this is just a must go to, damn good movie I love it and give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

    Worth It

Even though I have all three Jurassic Park movies (in VHS) I just had to check out the 3D version. Though it's not a real 3D, the effects are there after being remastered. Sound is good but a home system with lots of bass can do the same thing.

Worth going to see especially if you can get a matinee as a senior to save some money.

    Tradition

    by

When I found out that they were re-releasing this movie in theaters I jumped at the opportunity to take my son with both feet. I enjoyed watching my sons face when the t-Rex first appeared and again with the velociraptors. As predicted we had a fantastic time and that little fly by memory of when I was a kid in love with dinosaurs took hold. Take your kids and enjoy the moment.

    Great, with one minor caveat....

JP definitely holds up 20 years later, except (spoiler alert) for the Deux Rex Machina ending, which was a little disappointing after such a carefully crafted plot.

    Definitely a must see!!

I was 7 when I saw Jurassic Park for the first time. I remember begging my father to take me and him saying no for like 3 weeks before he finally relented. He laughed the entire time telling me that Tim reminded him of me with my million and one facts and questions about Dinosaurs! I've grown up since then, but my love of our prehistoric brethren never wavered. When I saw that it was being rereleased just in time for my birthday I felt like the universe was giving me the best birthday present ever!! Not only is it still the coolest movie ever, but one that still makes the goosebumps raise 20 years later. I tend to shy away from 3D movies, but for once it fit perfectly with Jurassic Park. It made it come more alive and made even me jump during some of the more dramatic scenes and I've seen this movie more than 30 times! I'm really glad they rereleased it as opposed to remaking it. This movie is a classic and I'm thrilled that people who weren't around before can go see it.

    Fabulous!

I have always been a HUGE Jurassic Park fan, and the chance to see it on the big screen again thrilled me to death. It did not disappointing! I must say, I am not at all on board with the 3D craze, and in almost every film I have seen in 3D I felt it was super cheesy and took away from the quality of the film. That being said, I liked the 3D aspect for this movie. There were moments here and there where the focus was uncomfortable, and some of the special effects they added in didn't work 100%, but as a whole it was pretty great! Those moments that made me jump the first time, me jump even more, I have have seen this movie dozens of times.

This movie is absolutely a "must see"!!

    Well worth the wait

    by

This movie has been my favorite since I was young, but unfortunately, I never got to see it in theaters, as I was too young at the time. Finally getting to see it on the big screen, an in 3D at that, really brought a tear to my eye. The update was crisper than ever, the sound kept me enthralled and the 3D trapped me until the credits rolled. If you have a kid who hasn't seen this movie yet, take them NOW. Televisions cannot do this movie justice,

    Jurassic Park 3d - 20 years later..

    by elpack

20 years ago I saw it 3 times in the theatre because I loved the "special effects" and felt like I was being chased. The side view mirror warning that objects are closer than they appear will forever be linked with this movie! Seeing the movie wasn't a question as to the quality of the movie because it is the same as it was with 20 years passed. So I figured some of the acting and such would be a bit out-dated. Instead my focus was on the 3-d and whether it enhanced the film. It did! However, I think it is important to remember that the film was NOT made in 3-d and thus the effects are somewhat limited -- nothing was changed to make it more 3-d-able. Having said that - I loved it. It was enough of an effect to give it the 3-d feel and certainly worth seeing again.

    Better than ever

    by

Most people have already seen the 2D version so the movie is nothing new. The 3D conversion was very good considering the movie is 20 years old. The 3D effects aren't as intense as modern movies, but I think that's better, especially for people that aren't big fans of 3D in the first place. Bottom line: Don't pass up the opportunity to see this fantastic movie while it's back in theaters.

    Jurassic Park 3d

It was a very good movie even the first time but with it being a 3d movie it brought the movie to live and it was more enjoyable! I like 3d movies to me it sames that the movies come to live. Some day your TV will be like that. 3D and being an Zookeeper it is nice to know know how the animals are like back then and know since we are in this time area you can do a commerce of the dinosaurs of living animal of today. But the dinosaurs of yesteryear they where birds of today. I believe The T-Rexs of that time they where Ducks but i don't believe that i thank they where Cassowary's. They where the big's birds in the world or Australia.
