    So Sad

    My wife and I LOVE both Bateman and McCarthy, and so badly wanted to like this movie. We have loved other quirky/kooky movies from these actors (Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses), as well as others (anyone remember Something About Mary?). Definitely not this one.

    Our thoughts on Identity Thief match what some of the other NO's are saying: some chuckles, but this movie is just not that funny. Maybe an age thing here (c'mon - we're not THAT old), but I was thinking to myself in the theater "maybe... just maybe this will appeal to teens and college-age folks, but why are WE still here?"

    Also don't know which showings or where the theaters are that others are saying "were cracking up", but not ours: a couple of chuckles, but mostly dead silence. In fact, even the teens ditched. Now THAT's bad.

    Wish we'd changed movies and/or asked for a refund - and we want our night back. Save your time and money - wait for an actual comedy.

    Loved It

    This movie was laugh out loud hilarious! Melissa McCarthy never disappoints and teamed wih Jason Bateman...pure genuis!

    You must go see it!

    Rex Reed, your a sad, bitter, miserable idiot and Melissa is laughing all the way to the bank so, TAKE THAT!!!

    A Must See Movie

    I went to see this movie with 2 of my grown daughters, and we laughed so hard. Melissa & Jason are wonderful together...And there are many more funny moments in this movie than they show on tv as the promos....if your on the fence about this movie...just go it's money well spent...Melissa has another movie coming out in june or july and im already excited to see it....

    U Won't Stop Laughing!

    This movie bursts out the gate with hilarious scenes. It has action and comedy - my two favorites. You will walk out the theatre talking about epic scenes. The writing is very witty and smart. Definitely don't recommend this for kids but a MUST SEE for adults!

    Funny no matter what critics say

    This was funny. I'm not sure why critics are blasting this movie. It's not like you go to comedies for the cerebral stimulation. You go to laugh at stupid jokes and funny slap stick comedy, and that's what you get. It is what funny films are for: relax and laugh. Have there been funnier films, yes... but this was worth it. Thanks Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman for making us laugh like you always do.

    Great potential, horrible movie

    Take two very funny people and put them in a potentially funny situation and what happens? Somehow nothing. Not sure if horrible writing or horrible editing killed this movie, but what a long, painful experience.

    Very Funny

    I am a fan of Melissa McCarthy and as always she didn't disappoint..
    Obviously everyone has there own opinion and some I'm sure didn't like it..
    I did however. Although because of the language.. I probably wouldn't let my children see it.
    But, I can't wait until her next film comes out with Sandra Bullock..
    That is going to be hilarious..

    Identity Thief stole hours of my life

    In spite of excellent efforts by Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy this movie just didn't work. It seems highly unlikely that an experienced worker in the financial industry would ever give out his SSN over the phone and no matter how many emotional scenes were written for Melissa I still felt her character was basically mean and unlikeable. There were a few genuinely funny moments but overall you had fine actors with very little quality material to work with.

    Pretty good

    There were some very funny parts, but it was just OK. Not even close to Brides Maids which I think was one of the most funny movies I have ever seen.

    Better Than Expected...

    For me I wasn't all that thrilled to go see it at first until my wife convinced me to take her. I totally loved the movie, it was very funny and was different from most movies I've watched lately which I love. It was definitely worth the money.

    This was an enjoyable mental break from day to day crap....you don't have to see it on the big screen but put it on your list of movies to see....not a must but it you like M. McCarthy, you'll enjoy it.

    A MUST SEE MOVIE!!!

    I loved the movie! The acting was great. Everything about the movie was great. This is a movie for adults.It had a mixture of comedy and drama. I liked how it ended, I would recommend this movie.

    Identity thief is a must.

    We did not stop laughing from the time the movie started till it ended. Mc Carthy is hysterical and Bateman is the perfect partner to back up the humor. A lot of slap stick which I love. Do not recommend small children seeing this due to the frequent swearing and sexual references. I highly recommend this just to go have a good gut wrenching laugh...do it you'll live longer.

    Cute movie!

    I went to see this movie with my older and younger brothers. We really enjoyed ourselves, and it was a great funny choice for a silly evening out. I'd say, "Go!" because the humor was pretty thought out. The movie was rated R, but I took my 15 year old little brother, and he handled it just fine. It was silly R, not gory/vulgar R. Enjoy!

    Identity Thief

    Not for kids. It was very funny. Molly is laughing all the way to the bank. Critics are very degrading about her weight. Shame on them. Ha Ha to them!!!! Go see it. Three stars.
