    Identity thief - not for everyone

    I saw the movie tonight with my 15 year old avid movie-goer twins (boy and girl). They both fell asleep half-way through which never happens. If you're into watching a) loud multi-scenes of car crashes where the car is totally trashed and bodies fly through the air but no-one ever dies and b) bad guys chasing the bad guys and shooting each other but recover within minutes, then this may be for you.
    I love both main actors so for me it was a real let down. There weren't any laugh out loud moments. Maybe a few chuckles here & there. However I do admit that I prefer comedies with smart quips & dry or intelligent humor whereas "Identity thief" contained more "silly-humor" such as people getting punched in the throat, kicked, smacked, hit by cars, etc .The movie is far-fetched, rather repetitive,and just too long. The beginning was good & appeared promising. The end, although predictable did entail some emotion and tugged at the heart strings, the rest, however - just plain silliness.

    This movie was victim to all the best parts being show in the previews/commercials. Not much outside of those things was very funny. I could take it or leave it.

    identity thief

    perfect match , they were each others ying to yang . sometimes you need to go and be entertained not educated. loved the characters and story line .waiting for melissa mcarthy to do a thriller she is just one of those actresses that does her craft well. makes for a great date night movie. i will be adding this one to my dvd collection.

    Not worth paying for

    This movie is not bad, but if I would of known how it was, I wouldn't have paid for it. I will just would of waited for it to come out on dvd. Not worth paying for. But it's an ok movie.

    A Theft Of My Time

    The movie was mildly entertaining, but I would not recommend anyone rush to see it. It was basically a rehash of previous films of the same type. Jason Bateman's talents were wasted....this was basically a movie showcasing Mellisa McCarthy; who was way funnier in "Bridesmaids". It also tries to paint very bad people as victims of society. Not a good lesson for children!

    My boyfriend did not want to see this movie and we are real movie goers..Every week we go..We never laughed so hard...Absolutely the best comedy out in a long while

    Identity Thief

    Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy give excellent performances in this very unique tale of two people from different worlds coming together for a hilarious road trip. The way their characters play off of each other is pure comic genius. Never a dull moment in this flick. Go see it!

    I was laughing the entire movie! I do not understand what these critics are talking about when they say don't go! The person that really made the movie it's own was Melissa! She was absolutely incredible! She is an incredible actress and I CANNOT WAIT to see where she comes out next!

    Terrible

    This is possibly one of the worst movies I have seen in recent memory. Every single plot line was unbelievable, which would have been okay if it had been a little funnier and a little less gross. Some of the garbage written into scripts these days is just beyond me. If there are sexual references they need to be funny.........not just gross. And no one should feel sorry for a criminal. The pathetic attempts to make us want to feel sorry for her........NO! There are consequesces to bad behavior. Period. And the entire setup was too ridiculous. No one would recommend someone flying across the country to catch a crook themselves. This was not worth the price of admission.

    Very funny!

    This is SUCH A FUNNY MOVIE!!! Only reason I didn't give it a "must go" is because i wasn't laughing the ENTIRE time...just most of the time.

    I love Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman, so of course I really enjoyed this movie. If a movie makes me laugh so much hard that I lose all muscle function and tears stream down my face uncontrollably then I consider it a huge success. This movie did that for me.

    Some Funny Parts

    There was some very funny parts, but on average it was same old schtick. Bateman is Bateman (is he ever anyone else?) and while it works, it's time for him to expand beyond his staid role. Melissa McCarthy is hilarious, but at times it feels a bit like they are trying to hard. The movie is worth it just for McCarthy (is the C capitalized?), but not in the theater.

    Enjoyed

    The movie was very funny, both characters worked very well together. I could have done without all the F bombs in this movie, I really do not think there was any need for that word and using Gods name in vain. Other then that, very good movie.

    Loved It..

    Don't let the critic's scare you off. I never understand them anyway. Laughed all the way thru the movie. Quite a bit of bad language so probably not for pre teens at least. Jason and Melissa played off of each other perfectly. She is so funny. Go see it and sit back and enjoy the movie.

    Identity Thief

    Melissa McCarthy was great in this movie! Been a long time since Jason Bateman did anything and he was awesome as well. She's very clever in getting out of sticky situations. Her character quickly endears herself to you, but you don't want her to, because she's the "bad guy". Bateman is the uptight victim who ends up becoming friends with her while trying to clear his own name from credit card fraud.

    If you want to see a movie that is just plain fun, where you don't have to really think to follow a movie, go see this one. Perfect for a fun date night or to see with friends.
