    OMG! SUCH A FANTASTIC MOVIE

I haven't seen a movie this good in so long. It's a tear jerker for sure. I'm definitely going to see this movie again, no questions asked.

    Powerful!

If I didn't know this was a true story, I would have thought this film was totally implausible and could never have happened in real life. What a memorable, touching and moving film. The director gives us a very vivid picture of the true magnitude of this disaster. The special effect of the enormous wave hitting the island was incredible.

    EPIC

    by joe3136

If Naomi Watts is overlooked for the Oscar for that child Jennifer Lawrence, I will be pissed. She deserves an Oscar more than any woman in recent memory for this role. WHat that must have taken out of her as a mother....stunning performance. AMazing experience that will always haunt me

    iMPOSSIBLE

iT WAS OK. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE MORE OF THE SCENERY OF WHAT THE ACTUAL AREA LOOKED LIKE WHEN THE DISASTER OCCURED. I ALSO WISH THERE WAS A FOLLOW UP STORY AT THE END TO TELL US WHAT THE FAMILY HAS DONE IN THE EIGHT YEARS THAT FOLLOWED, ESPECIALLY THE BOY LUCAS

    Amazing

This was an incredible story done by incredible film makers. I don't know why the film makers felt everyone had to be English though - the true story was about a Spanish family. Aside from that oddity, I found this to be one of the best movies I've ever seen, even if the story is tremendously sad.

    The Impossible

    by wohl62

Despite knowing the story line, it seemed realistic enough. However, the screams and howls and the loud yelling for the "missing people" were a little too much for an older person's ears. The acting was fairly good but, frankly, I thought the oldest boy should have been nominated for an Oscar and not the female lead. It's something to be seen but, if you miss it and pick it up on Netflix, you wouldn't lose too much except, possibly, the expansive scenery.

    Movies are for entertainment

I love movies that you can really sink your teeth in. This is not one of those. Very good effects, acting, editing, cinematography.......but it is a movie of survival, and it gets to be pretty disturbing.....I didn't see much entertainment element to it, but many disturbing images.

    real deal

The ultimate survival. A truly miraculous recovery from the depths of oblivion. The most inspiring true life story to the silver screen that could possibly be.

    Spectacular!!!

Not a dull moment in this movie. Guaranteed "Weeper" film but all worth it at the end. Treat yourself and your loved ones to this truly amazing true story.

Thought provoker. Every parent should see this movie, but not for the faint of heart.

If you want a movie that will cause you to reflect on your priorities in life and to want to embrace your family and never let go, then this is the film for you. I have never cried so hard in a movie before, actually wailing out loud, almost uncontrollably. While the movie was difficult to watch, the tears came from a place of love and gratitude and compassion that caused me to feel fully human and alive, touching me to the core, especially as a mother, and it felt wonderful to realize how deep the ties that bind us can be, as a domestic family, and as a human family. I must admit I had to turn my head 2 or 3 times at the more disturbing or graphic scenes, but there was enough warning that they were coming that I was able to close my eyes before I saw too much. I think the movie, while focusing on the hope of this particular family, also fairly represented the destruction and life-shattering affects on the citizens of Thailand, & opened my eyes to the needs of the rest of the world.

    The Impossible

This was a great movie. My husband and I both enjoyed it and would see it again. The action was so real and the actors did a wonderful job. This was a true story and it seemed as if it was just happening as everything was so real.

    The Impossible

S--t happens. It happened big-time that horrible day of the tsunami. Left the show feeling grateful to be alive and breathing. Also a little drained from all the drowning scenes. Be in the mood for alot of water, blood, separation and pain. Up side, families count. Many waters cannot quench love.

    FANTASTIC!!!

    by

At last, a very well told story supported by great special effects and good acting. I think Naomi Watt's leg needs to get an award or something. That thing had a life of its own. :)

Impossible to watch and have dry eyes!

    by

This movie was a heavy one. You really got a sense of what it would have been like to experience a tsunami. The acting was superb. The boy who played Lucas should get an academy award. He stole the movie. Don't see this if you want a fun movie, but don't miss it either.
