If you love Cirque - it's a must see

    by

Like being front row for the best parts of many of the Cirque shows. They tried to piece it together into a story line which didn't exactly work - but it was visually stunning and incredible to watch.

Cirque non-lovers may not enjoy, as my viewing companions didn't love it as I did.

Worth seeing but a different animal from live Cirque altogether

Uses elements and magic from many Cirque shows to weave a beautiful narrative. If you haven't seen a Cirque show, this is an inexpensive way to experience some of Cirque's magic. I've seen several Cirque shows and I'll outline what I liked and disliked about the movie:
    Liked:
The ability to see details and perspectives missing from the audience of a live Cirque show.
The ability to zoom over and through the action.
Much more sense of individual character and performance detail.

    Disliked:
Less flow. Part of the Cirque magic is the ability to experience the flow of incredible performances. There were many times when the camera cuts pulled me away from something I wanted to see or otherwise interrupted the flow.
Not enough big picture: The focus on individual and tight shots, deprived me of one of the things I love best about Cirque: the feeling of being overwhelmed at the totality and collective artistry of the troop on stage.

    Net: Worth seeing!

    For Circue Lovers

The movie is beautifully photographed and the music fits and helps move it along. I do think you would get the most out of the movie if you are a Cirque fan, which we are. To see the Circque performers up close and personal is a real treat and we are in awe of their physicallity, the choreography and the costumes. For us it was a WOW!

Like being at Cirque all over again!

    by

I took my 12 yr old daughter and her friend to see this and they were mesmerized! I loved the visual journey - a hallmark of the Cirque shows. The only critique I would have is that you don't get a true sense of the majesty of some of the sets you get at a live show (the ship scene from "O" in particular). Regardless, I haven't seen Ka live, but was still stunned by the beauty and artistry displayed onscreen in those sets.
Great for all ages - although really little ones might get fidgety.
    Loved it!

    Great Advertisement for Las Vegas!

    by jmarler

This movie is great, but the 3D effects lacked any real depth! Many 3D have the images come out into the audience, but nothing like that was shown where we went, even though the commercial makes it seem that this was what should happen...

It is a compiliation of the various shows in Las Vegas by Crique and we enjoyed it, but to pay to attend an ad for their shows was not what I was hoping for. If you want to see the various shows of Cirque in Vegas, this is a taster for each of the shows. We just happened to have seem most of the spectacular shows but chose not to go to ELVIS or Beatles, etc.

Not high marks in my grade book.

Cirque, there is nothing like it!

3D is always fun, and so is Cirque so you can't beat this combo. Nothing compares to a live Cirque show, but this is the next best thing. Very affordable way to see Cirque if you haven't been to a live show and would like a fine sampling of what you will see at one. The cool thing about this movie is that you get great close-ups of acts and performers that you could never see in even the best seats at a real show. The artistic element also pops even more so than a live show. Each has their advantages. It's my goal to see everything Cirque during the course of my lifetime so I couldn't miss it and you shouldn't either. Cirque Du Soleil is simply the best. Why are you still sitting here reading this, you should be ordering your tickets !

Beautiful and Stunning a visual treat

This movie had beautiful visuals and there were no real acion packed fights; however; I really did not expect one. I showed love, compassion and excellent visuals. It was a GREAT investment fr the dollar.

It was an EXPERIENCE not a movie

This little advertised 3D show, CirqueDu Soleil, was an experience for the senses. It was so full of action that I had to remind myself to relax my muscles and try not to "help" the performers from my seat. Our tummies felt a little motion trouble at times because the 3D action made us feel like we were swinging along with the acrobats! I really enjoyed every minute of this film. I hope they make it available in theaters again so we can share it with our family and friends who missed it!

    more theatrical than amazing

    by ksc_jnc

I saw a cirque show recently so I couldn't wait to take my kids. Although a few parts were neat, it was like a combination of several shows and was much more gothic and theatrical than it was amazing. disappointed..

    Awesome Beyond This World!!!

Breathtaking - This is the most unreal show ever! The synchronized swimming and aerobatics are phenomenal. The physical prowess of the cast members and master riggers was incredible. I was especially captivated by the jellyfish though they were only shown for a minute. The finale was fascinating and kept my attention. The sound track was the best. Very reasonably priced tickets at our local theater - take the whole family.

I actually left the theater during the movie

for the first time in a long time. I used to love the old TV specials of Cirque du Soleil shows, and that was more or less what I was expecting here. Unfortunately the cinematography did everything it could to distract from the stunning performances. The frame shifted every second (making it harder to appreciate the choreography), and at least half of the shots were in slow motion. Because nothing makes real-time gravity defying feats of human strength and agility more exciting than...slowing them down. It gave the impression that the timing was faked, like a fight scene in an action movie.
I see that a lot of people liked the way the film was made, but it wasn't for me. If you liked the TV specials, watch clips on YouTube or the Cirque du Soleil website instead.

    PURE ART

    by

The movie was well put together. If you have never researched or watched a live performance, you may not understand it. There are 7 Cirque du Soleil shows and you are treated to a small piece of each one in this love story. Enjoy.

    Cirque 3D

Beautiful filming. Could have done without weak love story line. Good tool for Cirque to market their live performances which we have seen twice and enjoyed very much. Good film for any age as is live experience.

Absolutely fantastic! Cirque delivers a true experience.

    by

I have been to a number of real time Cirque shows so I was wondering if seeing it in film would take away from the experience. Needless to say my concerns were so wrong. This is a fabulous Cirque journey that takes you through so many of their amazing performances but binds them so cohesively and beautifully. I was mesmerized from the beginning to end and as with all the Cirque shows, when the end came I found myself wanting more.

Bravo Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away.

    Great show!!

    by

Contained elements of all the Cirque du Soleil shows in the Las Vegas casinos, but at a much better price. Also, you were closer to the action than if you were in the audience at a live casino performance, due to the great photography. Highly recommend it - maybe for older children though.
