I knew the ending and I still sat at the edge of my seat

I know there is debate whether this is the accurate depiction of what went on...so put that aside and just go and enjoy a real thriller.....

    Real Heroes

This is a great movie and a very interesting look at the CIA and Navy Seals. These folks all deserve our thanks for trying to keep us safe.

See it, enjoy it, discuss it

I found this to be a completely captivating motion picture. So well done. From my limited military perspective, there are a number of small "errors" that jumped out at me. Didn't detract from the picture, but made me wonder "if they got these things wrong, what else did they get wrong?". Again, I'm over-analyzing things. The whole "enhanced interrogation techniques" aspect deserves discussion. Wish they had shown the FBI agent (not in the movie) refusing to be a part of the water-boarding.

Made Me Jump In My Seat!

I really liked the action in this movie ... hint: when a "date" is shown prepare for something to happen that will make you jump out of your seat! I was intrigued by the story of how one woman was dogged enough to continue pursuing her instincts that she was on the right track to find public enemy number one. The scenes were so real that I had to stay till the end of the credits to find out where it was filmed. It was difficult, though, to watch the raid scene at the end, especially when they killed the women. Who knows if this movie was factual though; same for ARGO. All in all, a very good, action-packed, thrilling movie to see.

    0 Dark Thirty

My kids and I loved it!! Intelligence at it's best by a woman in the CIA. My 14yr daughter was all over that!! So a girl caught him, she asked? I loved her question about the woman being recruited out of college to work for the CIA. What does that mean, she asked? Boy did that open the door for me to talk about recruitment from an athletes point of view, which we hear about often and an academic point of view, not so much.. I told her companies come on college campuses looking for the best, just as scouts and agents do for the best college athletes to sign up with them.

    Math and science are key!

    WOW!

Greatly exceeded my expectations. Powerful, riveting, amazing. A dynamic conversation starter on American foreign and security policy. I hope every Member of the US Congess sees it. Absolutely a Must See.

    Movie of the year?

Maybe.....it was a good movie but it drags on in a few spots. I think it could have got the story out in 2hours instead of the 2:45.

Glad these guys (and girls) are on our side!

This was an excellent movie which told the story of the 10+ years leading up to the killing of UBL after September 11, 2001. The real life heros that accomplished this are astonishing and I wish I could thank them personnally for their years of sacrifice. The acting in this movie from start to finish was Oscar worthy. Jason Clarke and Jessica Chastain are agreat start to finish but the Seals and James Gandolfini play key roles and really finish this movie well. Do not miss seeing ZD30.

  • So-so

    I found the movie so-so, but only because I wasn't expecting a documentary-esque treatment.

    by hrlew

I waited too long to watch Zero Dark Thirty.

I first considered hitting up theaters in mid January to catch this in theaters but I couldn't find anyone who shared my interest in seeing the movie. So I waited until now and watched it on-demand.

And the best word I can use to describe my experience with the movie is disappointment.

Now I would like to give credit to the direction of the movie and say that I can appreciate the movie for the quality as a piece of work, but I was expecting more of a movie and less of a documentary, if you know what I mean. I was hoping for some drama -- a hope not fulfilled.

I found the film to be very slow in certain portions and dare I say, predictable. Now, obviously the movie is going to be predictable because we all know how it ends, so I would attribute this negative feeling to all the positive praise generated in the media about the film.

I guess I got my expectations too high, and ultimately, found myself disappointe

Excellent action movie which identifies that organizations never solve problems, individuals do. This movie should make every American feel much less safe as it presents the truth that no one is safe against a determined enemy. Definitely should received several awards.

    Zero Dark Thirty Review

    by

I had very high expectations for this movie. Unfortunately, when I finished it, I was very disappointed. There was great action and cinematography, but everything else was bad. Most actors/actresses talked way too fast. The story was slow. The writing wasn't that great. It was just confusing. The Navy SEALs part was pretty good; however, when they killed *SPOILER CENSORED*, I was still thinking about where he was. I didn't know they killed him already. I had to ask my dad if they killed him. The worst part is that most scenes in this movie were so boring that I actually fell asleep in the middle of the movie. Zero Dark Thirty, in my opinion, is a very long, boring, and confusing movie for me. This movie is for adults and very mature teens if they are interested in watching this. I don't recommend this, but if you are interested, just rent it.

    Loved it

Just saw this yesterday and thought it was great. It kinda felt to me like a season of The Wire condensed into 2hrs 40mins. Reason being that it spends a lot of its time carefully focusing on the intel/evidence-gathering process, and then builds to the climactic ending.

    Liked it

Good movie. Well produced, directed and acted. Doesn't really take sides politically. A gripping account of of the years long search for (more than the killing of) Osama Bin Laden. The raid in Pakistan isn't the bulk of the movie which is all about one woman's campaign to find him. Good show.

Thought it left more questions unanswered than answered. Would go to see it again to pick up on info I may have missed the first time.

    Seriously

    by scil982

What a terrible motion picture. The first hour was dedicated to watching some guy get tortured. The rest of it was watching some chick act like a 14 year old teenager. Writing on her boses wall everyday reminding him of how long its been since they idenfied the house--C'Mon. LIKE THAT KIND OF SNOT NOSED BEHAVIOUR WOULD BE ALLOWED IN THE CIA. Do you think a man would have been given that leeway. Oh, I forgot--Kathryn Bigelow. Chick power--right? What BS. And then proclaiming with such righteousness the she was the "************" that found the compund suspected of holding Bin Laden. Like she was one of the hard *** Navy Seals that brought him down. I didnt see her Lily white butt on one of those helicopters. I am woman, hear me roar (except when it comes time to get shot at--then I'm in the beauty parlaour getting my nails down sipping a martini). A boring movie that typifies what is happening in the real world. Women getting away with murder. Bunch of crap.
