Weep for the next generation
I just watched this movie last night on opening night. The movie was scarcely packed, which was a surprise considering the amount of positive buzz surrounding this movie. The majority of the film goers in the theater were 18-22 year old college students. Now, personally, I loved the movie. I was enthralled with the slow burning dialog and the drawn out suspense of a story most only know the finish of. I was expecting the typical chatter in the rows exiting the theater of praise and adulation. Instead, as the screen went to black, a young hipster proclaims 'Finally! Worst movie ever!'. This was coupled with the agreeing remarks from other young people surrounding us. Myself, 29, and my two friends, also 29, were shocked. We came to the conclusion, that although this movie may not be for everyone, you can't deny the powerful tone behind it. I guess if you were under the age of 10 when 9/11 happened, you probably should never see this movie. You have no impression of the dread of that day
