    Riveting

    Regardless of my feelings about torture or the ethics of the CIA, this was a fascinating view of what goes on behind the scenes in fighting terrorism. It kept me on edge the entire time, especially since the individual events are now history that I have lived through.

    Long but captivating

    The movie held my interest from the opening line to the very end. Well acted and very interesting to me. Learning about the operation and how the intelligence was gathered was both fascinating and somewhat worrisome.

    Everyone enjoys a good thriller...

    Bigelow's wonderful directing job and Jessica Chastain's great acting job mix with a great script to produce Zero Dark Thirty, a wonderful, suspenseful thriller that unfortunately has a very pro-torture standpoint. See my full review and others at CinemaPinion.com

    Very Worthwhile

    I'm amazed at the difference in ratings. My husband and I both thought it was great. Interesting, pretty gripping even though it's long, and we both liked that it didn't try to push one agenda or another. Those guys they were "interrogating" wanted to or did murder Americans. But it's hard to say that it wasn't torture. The terrorist threat was real and ongoing - the movie showed people continuing to DIE because of Al-Quaeda. The CIA people felt responsible. What to do? There are no easy answers, and the movie showed that very well. The painstaking nature of intelligence work was also really well-portrayed, and the importance of knowing a culture or being able to pick out the one important truth - or lie - from a questioning session. It was really interesting. Jessica Chastain was very good, we thought - driven but not histrionic. You'd have to be a little obsessive to do what she did - her character probably wasn't very socially adept in real life either. Excellent moviemaking.

    A Pleasant Surprise

    Usually a movie preceded by so much hype and news mentions does not live up to expectations. This movie is an exception. It will keep you at rapt attention from start to finish.

    A great hunt for osama bin ladan

    Ok, this is going to be hard to explain so heres a pros and cons list. Pros: Storyline, Interviews, and acting (espicailly Jessica). Cons, Character development and length. The movie is good, just not what I thought it would be and 2hrs 30mins is a long time to keep someone in. This movie shouldn't win any oscars except for maybe Chastain, and the movie isn't all about Osama, its about his messengers, which I would have wanted to know before. Bottom Line : If you like a hunt journey of a oscar contender, go see this movie, no questions asked, but I would recommend seeing Argo instead.

    Good movie, not great!

    Overall a very entertaining movie, there were no slow parts to the movie and it was engaging. Obviously made for the screen, with all the Hollywood effects. It would be good to know what was real in the movie and what was Hollywood. This is my reasoning for not giving it a full 5, I would say it's 4 to 4.5. It was worth the money.

    Terrible movie

    Seriously, do not waste your time. If you're really pressed to see it, see something else and wait for this to hit the rental shelves. Nearly walked out it was so boring, the only thing keeping me in my seat was a.) my buddies and b.) waiting for the action to begin.

    Fandango screws us for Zero Dark Thirty

    TRIED to see Zero Dark Thirty. Asked Fandango to send my ticket to my iphone--hour before! Got to the theatre, looked at my phone, and saw a text that said "will send you your mobile ticket soon." By the time we had it figured out, the only seats left were in the first row. GREAT service, Fandango! Someone tell me how the movie was.

    You'll Leave Feeling Proud to be an American

    If you think you know the whole story of killing OBL, you don't. The appreciation and pride you will feel after viewing the entire story and work put into finding him will surprise you. There was so much more to the story and this movie really highlights those who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe. If you are in the service or intelligence agency and are reading this review; THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

    Zero Dark Thirty

    Zero Dark Thirty is "A chronicle of the decade-long hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden after the September 2001 attacks, and his death at the hands of the Navy S.E.A.L. Team 6 in May 2011."- IMDb

    This movie has it's problems. I am not saying it was bad. I am just saying it definitely isn't perfect. I have to mention some of the acting. Most actors can do their job well but they just don't show it in this movie. As for the writing, it was bad. The dialogue is very unrealistic and doesn't get any better throughout the movie. But the interesting story kept me watching.

    Did I like It? Sure! Was it awesome? No! 3 stars/5 stars

    Zero Dark Thirty

    I enjoyed this movie tremendously. I know it is not accurate, but never the less a movie you should see. Very suspenseful and reveals how difficult a manhunt can be, Know we have the most amazing soldiers in the world. They are the bravest, strongest, best trained men and women in the world. I know. I have been in fire fights and have witnessed first-hand how we are. And how yellow outside countries are that we have been in battle with.

    Academy awards, I don?t think so, but a well-played move. Go.

    Excellent film

    This is an excellent film. Even though you know what is coming, it is very suspenseful. Amazing that Kathryn Bigelow was not given an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
    Jessica Chastain is excellent in the lead, and the supporting performances are solid.

    Zero is right

    Katheryn's portrayal of the events surrounding the elimination of UBL seemed to be very realistic, especially the part the middle management played in giving the go ahead. If what I saw was accurate, we almost didn't go after him at that time, like I'm sure we didn't many times before. If it wasn't for the courage of the character Maya to hunt him down we might still be turning over caves in Afghanistan! Actually, I wondered if we really wanted to find him in the first place since all the money spent looking never returned anything of value, and that came through in the movie too. For those of us that have been following the continuing saga of Al Qaeda vs the US, it is a story of triumph that I'd highly recommend.

    Zero Dark Thirty

    Movie was great. It moves slow and I'm glad it did. There was alot of detail to follow. Very interesting to see how the story did its best to follow actual events. My wife and I went to see it and we loved it. The reminder of events that have happened were sad and I thought this was a very respectable way to tell a story.
