    Nothing memorable

Bland movie with nothing really going for it. There wasn't any suspense and the acting was mediocre. It might be worth seeing, but certainly not worth paying to see it in theaters. Wait until it arrives on cable.

    INTENSE

    by srtek1

First, the long movie did not feel long. We enjoyed the storyline and buildup in the movie. We already knew the the final act, but it did a very tasteful presentation of the actual event. I enjoyed the realistic presentation of the work that is done to track and find criminals in other countries. The military action scenes were intense and closely authentic. Overall, great entertainment and informative at the same time, a "Must Go". I will buy it when it is available on DVD.

    Zero Dark Thirty-Gripping!

Movie opens with a blank screen & the sounds of Chaos @ the WTC in NYC on 9/11/01. I thought the projector broke. Good device to reel you in. While the initial interrogation scenes are rough to watch, I can't help but think it was rougher for the WTC victims who I was spared watching die in the opening "blank screen" sequence.
You are rooting for the underdog female CIA character from the beginning as she makes herself the outsider inside the CIA. Relentless, and determined to get her guy......
Intense, rivoting & best flick I've seen in the past 12 months!

Kudos to the women in the real world of the CIA

Although the movie starts off slowly due to the information they are trying to establish as background data, I found the movie quite interesting. I feel that it is shows the true character of many of the CIA people responsible for capturing OBL. I was amazed at the role many women played in actually having fortitude toward capturing him. I also feel that you got a feel for what those countries are like: the people, the overcrowding, the poverty and their beliefs. I was amazed at how many covert workers were actually helping find OBL. A big thank you to our Navy Seals! What a job they did, risking their lives for our freedom.

Respect for those who put their lives in risk for all of us!

After I watched this movie I have more respect for any person who serves for this country .Good movie and excellent for young kids learning recent history.

Even though you know what happens, you find yourself routing for the end of OBL

A little slow for first hour then edge of seat excitement for the remainder of the movie. Loved Jessica Chastain!!! Good performances made the movie play like a documentary.

    Zero Dark Thirty

    by john126

Very engaging and gripping film with a stellar performance by the female protagonist (an oxymoron no more, thank the Goddess)*. The film reveals the darker side of our medieval torture policies, gives volumes of specific information about the size and scope of the Bin Laden whack in great detail.

The only flaw is that during the first half of the film (bordering on being a tad slow), there was not enough directoral and screenwriting attention given to distinguishing among the suits. We needed more info re their specific jobs and motivations. It is a problem, of course, because all Hollywood suits look alike (handsome Jack Armstrong types) and are cookie cut characters anyway. True in real life too, unfortunately.

*I was furious to note that Edgerton an actor who plays a minor role) was listed first in the Fandango sexist description of the movie with the female lead listed below her. For shame!

    Emotional, engaging, and worth seeing!

    by rpeete

Right from the start, the movie sets the serious tone for the story. I was expecting it to be powerful, and it was. And when the movie ended, the whole theater was quiet and pensive as we walked out. I am glad I went to see the movie, even though I knew it would bring back a lot of strong emotions and memories.

    Zero Dark Thirty

It was a very intense reminder of the cost of our freedom. While the middle of the movie seemed to drag a bit, it was worth getting to the end. Reminds me of what sacrifices our secret and armed forces make to keep our country safe.

Very well done movie, showing the obsession of one person. I do have questions on how factual the actual killing of Bin Laden was but the premise was there.

One of the best movies I've seen in a while

    by nhleees

Suspenseful, this movie kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the lead characters and I thought the storyline was excellent. Really a great opportunity to get an inside look at the REAL work that was done to find OBL and all the hurdles that were thrown in the path. This is a must-see.
Note: all the usual suspects in Hollywood who are speaking out against the torture in the film had nothing to say about the Django scene where the slave is attacked by dogs on screen. Just ignore this nonsense and go see the movie.

    Good wrap up

    by mlamm66

Zero Dark Thirty is a good film in the sense that if you need all the information wraped up in a christmas package for you. It give good detail on how the small band of CIA agents followed a lead to find UBL. I feel this movie will have a larger impact in about ten years when kids start asking questions around how they caught him and took him out. As for right now it/we may still be a little to close to the events to really know how to feel about this movie.

Oscar: Not for movie but Jessica Chastain weas great and deserving of whatever she recieves for carring this film.

felt like a longer caper. But was fascinating and a bit illuminating....

Zero Dark Thirty was more on the lengthy end. They try to compress over ten years into this movie so not bad if you consider. I felt it shed some light, assuming some of it was accurate, in the search for Bin Laden. Definitely can challenge you with certain subject matter such as torture but that was not the focus. Told through the eyes of a key investigator involved with the hunt almost from the beginning. Movie kept me interesting through and through and then the big pay off when they get Bin Laden in the end. Worth watching.

    One of the best

    by

Outstanding. Wife and I saw and agree. Disagree with oher reviews that said it was slow at the beginning, confusing and hard to follow. Not one of the many people at the showing we attended made a sound for the entire 3 hours. Not a dull or uninteresting moment. See it and you will most likely also be impressed. The way the CIA tracked down bin Laden was real good suspense. The waterboarding was minimal as well as the other so called torture parts- they were well done.

    Bigelow got robbed!

    by

This movie is why she would have deserved her 2nd Best Director Oscar. Should also win for screenplay. Very well developed story. Even when you know something is coming you don't know how,it is coming. Must see.
