    Must See

Excellent story on the research and time to find bin Laden - particularly since it was one woman who drove a nebulous lead. Good reminder too of all the strikes that continued to happen around the world - London and again in NYC. I actually will see it again to pick up on anything I might have missed. Although the movie is long, it's very captivating to see how the CIA works (assuming the movie is somewhat accurate).

Extremely well done, and a great thriller.

Very intriguing movie with characters that reflect our history pefectly. Deep and interesting back story with a satisfying ending. Not a movie that I would see again for a while, but definitely one of m absolute favorites.

    Boring and bland

    by loey

The history or military channel has a much more informational (and ironically more interesting and spell-binding) documentary of Zero Dark Thirty. I loved Hurt Locker and was so looking forward to this movie, especially given the reviews. Unfortunately it was a long slow march that could have been easily shortened by an hour and a half. Way too long for the same repetitive scenes of torture, then agent conversations, then waiting, then waiting, then waiting, then finally the raid which was done with great hollywood flair but confusing to watch. So many things in this movie were inaccurate and implausible that it started to become unbelievable, even if there was truth to half of it. It was incredibly boring. The main actress had only one facial expression throughout the movie, with barely an emotion. I would never recommend this movie.

    A well crafted story

The movie starts off immediately with a black out, replaying 911 calls for
9/11, you are drawn in and continue with years of work by multiple persons,
the movie illustrates the painstaking, anguishing decisions made by these
persons, and while a death is never for glory, it reminds the public "freedom"
    is not free. Well done.

Engaging, disturbing, thought-provoking... all of the above

    by rizalyn

Was it me or were the explosions extra explosive? You're in the big leagues now, mister.

The torture scenes were truly disturbing, but I failed to see what the big deal was all about. I'm sure we're not the only country that uses these techniques. I would even venture to say that we are probably tame compared to others. With that said, I wouldn't mess with our guys.

The movie is really thought-provoking and requires a level of concentration and focus to really follow the events leading up to UBL's death. It's a satisfyging ending that makes your realize the work that goes into protecting our country and the "unrecognized" people who do that work.

    Great Flick!

    by Botts

Definitely worth the $ to go see in the theatre. Well done. The actors are terrific. Many familiar faces. Plot remains suspenseful and it's pretty mind blowing in areas. All done well and tastefully. This is a must go.

    zero dark thirty

    by rdever

I thought was very good film, while pales to Bigelow's Hurt Locker. The worst part was for first 20 minutes of movie, nearly inaudible. Hard to hear as well as clarity of voices. They must have seen this in editing but 1) cost too much to alter or 2) felt that material was superfluous
and it was more what was happening that truly impportant. Whaterever reason was poor one.
Sound for first 20 minutes was similar to what you would expect from slim to no budget film.

I never notice this in most films, so fact that neither husband or I could understand is remarkable.

A PIVOTAL PORTRAIT OF THE HUNT AND DEATH OF OSAMA BIN LADEN.

Kathryn Bigelow has scored again (?The Hurt Locker?) with this meticulous, intricate scenario of the decade long hunt and slaying of the world?s most sought after terrorist, Osama Bin Laden; she is religious in depicting the reality of the quest and CIA operative ?Maya?s? intransigent dedication to finding this heinous villain. Jessica Chastain gives a quietly explosive performance as a woman whose vision and mission will not be swayed or felled by mere government officials; Maya?s entire career has been informed by the crusade to capture/death of the madman who visited upon the Unites States its worst massacre and the demise of a freedom so pure, so entrenched in democracy, never to be tasted again...

    FIVE STARS!!!!!

Zero Dark Thirty Hits the Nail on the Head

After seeing this movie, it is easy to see what all the controversy is about. It seems like a very accurate depiction of the events leading up to the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden. It was no surprise to me that our president and government officials dragged their feet for over 3 months after acquiring the intel. Thank God our special ops team completed their mission without casualties. Some people forget that over three THOUSAND of our innocent citizens were MURDERED on 9/11.

    B-

    SRQ Review

I understand why Argo won the Critics Choice award for Best Director/Picture. There was a tension and heart throughout that was missing in Zero Dark Thirty. It was a good film though and worth seeing to remember the men and woman who die in the name of Terrorism and the people who keep us safe.

    Zero Dark Thirty

I went expecting to love this movie...but I found it to be extremely boring. I have read that it is slow-moving, but trust me, it is simply a very boring and drawn out storyline.

    Mixed feelings

More documentary than movie, ZD30 was at times quite suspenseful (even though you know what happens) and at other times tough to watch or maybe even boring. Overall I think it was good and the Director does a good job making the subject matter into a movie. But I can't say it is "enjoyable" (lots of torture, lots of violence) and I don't think I'll ever watch it again. It's not worthy of Best Picture, but it is good.

    Not So Great

    by dcb0515

Beginning torture scenes and the final attack are pretty interesting but the rest is just about the redhead badgering everyone to continue in her direction. I should have just waited for the DVD rental.

    better than I expected

    by ajibaji

I enjoyed very much how the two women tracked down the information and painstakingly built a case while the torture and hard interrogations yielded either wrong or no information. It was like a detective story unfolding. The acting was wonderful and the actual raid and escape the last half hour of the film were hair raising even through you knew the outcome. Very good film, well directed. I recommend it.

    Zero Dark thirty

    by nastar3

This movie was realistic in the showing on how the Intelligence Industry really work's. Sorry if some get bored, but it entails long hours of lots of superfluous garbage to find what you are looking for. I think the Director did a fantastic job of showing the BS that takes place and also of someone trying to take the credit for some other persons work. Overall, I believe that it was a Great Movie!!!!!!!!!
