    Good wrap up

    by mlamm66

Zero Dark Thirty is a good film in the sense that if you need all the information wraped up in a christmas package for you. It give good detail on how the small band of CIA agents followed a lead to find UBL. I feel this movie will have a larger impact in about ten years when kids start asking questions around how they caught him and took him out. As for right now it/we may still be a little to close to the events to really know how to feel about this movie.

Oscar: Not for movie but Jessica Chastain weas great and deserving of whatever she recieves for carring this film.

    Bigelow got robbed!

    by

This movie is why she would have deserved her 2nd Best Director Oscar. Should also win for screenplay. Very well developed story. Even when you know something is coming you don't know how,it is coming. Must see.

Decent for a Documentary; So-So for a Drama

It took me a few tries to get through the movie but I did keep at it until I made it through so I guess that says something.

Even though you know what happens, you find yourself routing for the end of OBL

A little slow for first hour then edge of seat excitement for the remainder of the movie. Loved Jessica Chastain!!! Good performances made the movie play like a documentary.

Compelling story diminished by overplayed character study

Soon after its powerful introduction, which captures the horror of 9-11 through the fear-stricken voices of actual victims, this film begins to trade the inherent drama of the hunt for bin Laden for an overplayed character study of its protagonist - a protagonist who becomes less and less believable as the story unfolds. The procedural aspects of the manhunt are plenty interesting, in and off themselves. The film would have been much more powerful if it had focused more on how we found and brought down bin Laden, and less on the quirks and frailties of a fictionalized heroine. That said, the scenes depicting the tracking of bin Laden's courier were absorbing, and I was riveted by the portrayal of the Abbottabad raid.

Zero Dark Thirty a must see on the big screen!!

Run..so not walk to see this film...It is very interesting..and when it counts very very exciting. It feels like you were there, that moment when he was found and killed.

I feel the film was very factual to the point of being uncomfortable sometimes, you will understand when you see it. I know there was controversy, but I also believe it was very
important for certain scenes to be shown for the reality of it all.

A must see and I see another Oscar for Ms. Bigelow.

    Hell of a Ride

    by djpage

As good of a version of events that you can expect unless you were actually there. Katheryn Bigelow's best film ever. Bigelow did a masterful job of capturing the tedium of the decade long job that the intelligence did to finally get Bin Laden. I have seen it twice in the theaters and can't wait for the DVD. Great job!

Zero Dark Thirty - Best Movie of the Year!

Despite knowing the outcome, this movie remained gripping throughout. It is beyond me why Kathryn Bigalow did not receive a Best Director nomination. Everyone should see this film!

    Great movie!

    by

Definitely go see it. Some of the explosions will come at very surprising times and the final portion of the movie is tense as hell. I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat, only because I knew what was going to happen. The title cards before each major scene were unneeded. Great sound, great acting, and one hell of a final scene! Definitely worth seeing.

    Legit review

I mean it was okay but it wasn't even close to as good as Garfield 2: A Tail of Two Kitties

Not what I had hoped for...

This movie wasn't bad. The beginning had me hooked real well with a gritty, paradoxically light-hearted torture and information extraction sequence that smoothed off into an overly bureaucratic, slow-paced, paper pushing manhunt (in my humble opinion) that then gave way to a tense, entertaining raid scene ending with... well I wont spoil the ending. :)

It's certainly no "The Hurt Locker" (fantastic movie) but I will have to give it one more chance; on Netflix.

Great Story / Great acting / absorbing movie

Extremely well acted and a great historical story brought to life very well. It absorbs you from the first scene to the last minute. Compelling story telling.

    Grown-up movie for grown-up sensibilities

    by

Looking for a shoot-em-up bang-bang movie? This isn't it. Looking for a well crafted, intense story that ratchets up the tension scene by scene thoughtfully and masterfully? Then Zero Dark Thirty is the movie for you. Even though you know how this story ends, you're still sitting on the edge of your seat during the final act. Kathryn Bigelow hit another home run with this one, but she won't be recognized for her excellence come Oscar time because--well, how to say this--it has a fundementally patriotic, pro-USA, dare I say "politically conservative" story line. My admiration for our military and Special Forces swelled as I watched the movie's climactic scenes. This is a terrific film for anyone who likes their movies to give them credit for being able to pay attention to dialogue and scene progression, and for anyone who just enjoys a great story well told.

    Boring

This movie will put you sleep faster than a good drunk and sleeping pills. Turn on the alarm, after 45 minutes it is very fast and nice.
