    Go see it

Started a bit slow I thought. The trailers show a lot of SEAL team footage but they don't even come in until about 2/3rds of the way through the movie. If you like Homeland go see this flick. It's good it was just a little different than what I had expected based on the trailers.

A great hunt for osama bin ladan

Ok, this is going to be hard to explain so heres a pros and cons list. Pros: Storyline, Interviews, and acting (espicailly Jessica). Cons, Character development and length. The movie is good, just not what I thought it would be and 2hrs 30mins is a long time to keep someone in. This movie shouldn't win any oscars except for maybe Chastain, and the movie isn't all about Osama, its about his messengers, which I would have wanted to know before. Bottom Line : If you like a hunt journey of a oscar contender, go see this movie, no questions asked, but I would recommend seeing Argo instead.

    Zero Dark Thirty

I thought it was fascinating to get a glimpse into CIA operative and the al queda organizations. It just goes to show how clueless we are here in the homeland. I was captivated the entire movie. I did not want to miss a single word they were saying. Thank God I knew how it ended with bin Laden's death, because the mission was heart thumping! I had to keep reminding myself "they get him" - it was that riveting! I'd see it again!

Fabulous action movie and I knew what was coming.

I knew the ending but was jumping in my seat during the parts where the secret agents and the Seal Team were doing their thing. Thank God for the brave men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line for our country. Great movie experience.

    Realistic, well made

Aside from a few minor tech details, the movie seemed realistic to me, well done.
the stealth copters were tad 'cheap', but overall the acting was solid, and intercut with actual news footage of real world attacks was effective.

    Zero Dark Thirty

Movie was great. It moves slow and I'm glad it did. There was alot of detail to follow. Very interesting to see how the story did its best to follow actual events. My wife and I went to see it and we loved it. The reminder of events that have happened were sad and I thought this was a very respectable way to tell a story.

    Ignore the critics

I had low expectations for this movie, given all I'd heard from the professional critics.

They were wrong. While this isn't a great movie, it's certainly worth the time (and your money) to see.

While the exact conversations between CIA agents, operatives and directors is pure speculation, the movie adhered to the facts when it came to timeline and events.

And on a purely base note, there was a certain satisfaction to seeing Osama Bin Laden take a bullet to the head. But perhaps I'm a terrible person.

    Gripping

Whether you know the outcome or not, the details presented in this movie are of great interest. Jessica Chastain does a superb performance worthy of recognition by her AAAS peers.

    Zero Dark Thirty

When a movie ends and nobody in the theater makes a move to get up and leave, you know it was deeply moving. What the Navy Seals did was truly amazing and all the work the CIA did leading up to it was unbelievable. It makes me angry that our credit-grabbing President has tried to take credit for this massive accomlishment, which was actually carried out by actions of which Obama knew nothing.

Here's to the real heros....God bless them all.

Great story although definitely not from an entertainment standpoint. This is more of a documentary and as such was done very well. Assuming of course you believe everything portrayed as fact. It is worth seeing however just for Jessica C's performance.

    Kathryn Bigelow disappoints...

It was disappointing to see Kathryn botch the greatest story of the decade. Had very high hopes after seeing Hurt Locker. Now it seems impossible to believe that both Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty were made by the same director. So, either Hurt Locker was in fact directed by James Cameron and she got the credit as part of their divorce settlement or Zero Dark was made by one of her unpaid interns. They make sitcoms that are better than this movie.

    Expected more given the hype

Yes different cities, different days but the movie felt more patchy than cohesive. It held my interest mostly, but there were a lot of cliche government characters that were tiresome. I wanted them off the screen so the plot could advance.
I liked it enough to recommend.

Don't go in expecting full-on action the whole time

I heard a review that said this was not an action film and instead was more of a suspense drama. It might have been partly due to me being tired and sleepy prior to the movie but I found the first hour or so to be a bit slow. Jessica Chastain was great throughout the movie though. To me, this movie is like Saving Private Ryan; "the good stuff" is at the end.

    Zero Dark Thirty

    by

I have read the review from other's and fully understand that some of what is shown in this movie may not be 100% accurate. That doesn't matter to me. I have friends and family that are military and although it may not be pleasant to see, I understand and totally support what needs to be done to take down those that are responsible for the deaths of any servicemen and women in our military. War may not be pleasant, but I believe, is necessary for us to continue to be free from attacks such as 9/11. Thank you to all of you that have served our Nation. Past, present, and future. God Bless America.

    Awesome!!! Gritty and totally believable...

    by

I went to this movie remembering how much I loved the "Hurt Locker" also by Katherine Bigelow. This movie shared the same believable tension of battle. The contraints that our soldies both in battle and behind the intelligence were something I believe happens every single day. Mental acuity vs. stubborn politcally motivated footholds. Go see it! Every American citizen should see this film. And even though my stomach churned during certain parts. I felt it was a good thing that it did. We will not forget.
