    Awesome Game Remake!

    by

i am sick of these "critics; ripping this moving apart,They obviously did not play the games nor saw the first film. Second off, stop comparing this to the 1st movie, as it is not supposed ot TIe in at all, THESE are 2 Different films. This movie takes place in Silent Hill 3, with a new character , Heather. Now the new director did his job , making it scary.
it has its moments, but if you are a TRUE silent hill fan you will enjoy this gem! Screw you haters!

Changed me... in a good way.

    by

I am sure that this movie got the ratings it did because people didn't see the first one. Some people may not like movies that rely on the first one, but I think that makes it even better. Even i you haven't seen the first it does a fairly good job of explaining what Silent Hill is and what happened in the first movie. The movie also takes a new approach as far as the monsters. Instead of monsters being shrouded in darkness they were now in your face, which may not be as frightening, but when you see some of the monsters you won't be disappointed. This movie still blew my mind in the end, but in a different way. I would say this movie actually altered my perception of reality, which no other movie had done before. As opposed to the first movie which left me saying "wtf just happened" (in a good way of course) Also don't listen to critics. They only give good ratings to boring artsy movies that are stupid to the majority of people. I recommend seeing this movie.

    Silent Hill

I can't say anything bad about the movie, but when it comes right down to it, I am easily put at the edge of my seat. There wasn't anything that really got my nerves so taught that I jumped out of my skin at a time when I should. I think I jumped more during the preview of Texas Chainsaw. Still, scenes were done well with good action. I am not all that tough on movies, I can't make a movie myself, but it was Halloween night, and I was in the mood and expected to jump out of my skin. The plot was interesting and kept me wondering for a good long time what was what.

Not bad, but not particularly good

This movie is all style and no substance. It looks good, has some genuinely creepy moments (usually ruined by a "gotcha" scare), a typically bizarre (and wonderful) performance by Malcolm McDowell, and some better than average 3D effects. But the narrative is a mess. The movie sends you into a non-stop barrage of horrifying images, taking a break every now and again to allow a character to explain what is happening. It's as if the writer knows you probably didn't see the first film (I did) or have not played the video games (I have) and needs to bring you up to speed. I never mind that a film does not follow a source game or book exactly (as I feel a movie must be able to stand on it's own merits--besides, if it did, I'd rather read the book or play the game!) but this one needed a few more rewrites. When you consider that the SH franchise of games is drenched in psychology and symbology, the films are a big disapointment.

    Silent Crap

    by

As a fan of the Silent Hill video games and the first movie, I couldn't wait when I heard this was coming out. So last night I got some friends together and I was all excited, and even laughed when a girl wearing a nurse head got told she wasn't allowed to wear it in the theater. Then it started. Let me just say that even though it's a movie based of a video game I know inside and out, I knew there would be some changes. I didn't care about that. After all, the first one was still decent even though they changed some things. But let me also just say that the first one had some good scares, decent gore, and built a nice, spooky ambiance. Not only did this movie lack all of those things, it tried so hard to have all of those things it was comical. They also tried to force in a love story that made absolutely no sense. The plot of the story kept changing as well, making the movie hard to follow. Pyramid head just sucked. Everything just sucked. Though I'll admit it was pretty to look at.

    Gory Horror

I kinda liked it. Gory with a story and some cool scenes and characters like the guy with a steal triangle head and a huge knife. If your into horror I'd Go.

    Confusion

I am going to see this movie tomorrow But i cant help but notice in the first movie Sharon and her mother still seem to be trapped in the nightmare when they return home and the father still in the "real world". yet in the trailer Sharon has grown up and is living a normal life, as a fan of the first movie this pisses me off so i just want to know if the second movie explains this?

    It wasn't the first.

    by Sphika

!!!Spoilers!!! Sharon and her stepfather continue the journey left to them by Rose, who we were left to believe was trapped on the other side of the veil. The father and duaghter duo have been living under the guise of aliases and a vagabond lifestyle until modern day, when Sharon turns 18. Her dreams and lucid hallucinations of Silent Hill become unavoidably compelling, although it takes the disappearance of her father before Sharon returns to the ashen, ever burning brooding grounds of her mother's hatred.

The acting was shallow and completely unconvincing. The end was entirely anticlamatic. The movie as a whole appeared to be very tightly budgeted, and yet, it looks like there will be one to follow. With as horribly mutilated as the storyline was in this one, I can expect that the next will simply go the way of the Saw films, unabashed bloodshed and repetitive plots.

In closing, this movie is for those who love to watch people die and those who don't care about solid plots.

Silent Hill still a good one.

When I went, regardless of all the bad or negative hype I went. I really liked the first one and this one was a step to fill in the blanks. A very good movie regardless of what others said.

    silent hill: Revelation

    by edunham

It was awesome and had more action in it. The first silent hill was a bit more scarier, but equally good...I really do think it should have started out with Harry like in the first game, instead of the mother, but it was still good.
