Ok Tom Cruise is not 6' 5" tall

I have read each of the Reacher books, and while T.C. does not look like the character, he certainly acts like him and the physical differences did not make a hoot.

I love when a movie is true to the story line in the book, and this one is.

Reacher is not James Bond, or any of the other acton thriller book/characters but is totally engrossing.

The movie is wonderfully scripted, acted and filmed. It is well worth seeing although Werenberg Theaters and the Fandango ticket charge are rip-offs.

Jack Reacher

My wife and I went to see this on New Years eve and found this to be a totally engaging movie. Tom Cruise was perhaps at his best, having aged well and being very believable in the part. I will highly recommend seeing this film to my friends and family. Jack Reacher is certainly on a par with , or better than, Skyfall 007, and the Taken series.

Slow but Good

Tom Cruise's fast comebacks are trademarks that make the movie interesting, especially in the slow parts. Overall, it is suspenseful and keeps your attention. Hey, my husband who falls asleep in just about any movie, especially if it is slow at times, stayed awake and actually found it to be a good movie.

Being a Jack Reacher fan and not a Tom Cruise fan, I was quite reluctant to see the movie. To my surprise, Cruise did a decent job of portraying Reacher, however, the movie itself was just not as sharp as the books are. The books have all the tenseness that the movie had but not all the extra, unnecessary drivel making it much longer than it needed to be. All in all, it was so-so. It could have/should have been more tightly wrapped. Skyfall was much better.

Just a guy

Tom Cruise seems to always pick great movies or he is just this good of an actor. Jack Reacher isnt a good guy or bad guy, he's just the guy to get the job done. The movie has a little bit of everything you want in a mystery thriller. You'll always know it'll end with someone dead, you just don't know how it'll happen.

Jack Reacher not a stretch

Tom Cruise is back in excellent form as Jack Reacher. The movie was fun and only slightly unbelievable. Great cameos as well. Definitely worth the cost and time spent.

So much fun, you will be on the edge of your seat. Good thriller, the car chase is so good it is in the "Bullitt" car chase category. Get your popcorn before you sit down you don't want to miss anything in this movie.

dont buy full price tickets-but see it

Definitely enjoyed the movie- but- glad I got the matinee price!! lots of action,lots of blood and guts and also some schticks remiiniscent of the home alone buffoons. many unanswered questions in the story line and many non-sequitors- but some laugh out loud moments too.

Great Action

Just saw, Jack Reacher. I'm a huge Lee Child fan, I've read all his Jack Reacher books, including, "One Shot". The movie was good, but missing a lot of detail. The biggest problem I had is that in the book, Jack Reacher is 6'5" tall, about 240 lbs, and is very intense and serious. Tom Cruise comes up short, but does an okay job. Since my expectations weren't high, I wasn't too disappointed. If you haven't read the book and you like action movies, you might like the movie.

Loved it. The beginning is a little disturbing in light of the shooting in Newtown, CT. But if you love Tom Cruise, in action movies, this does not disappoint! And some funny moments as well in there.

Solid movie

Say what you want about Tom Cruise, but you can't deny that he puts out good movies. I was entertained from beginning to end. The ending was a little questionable but overall it was a solid movie. I give it a 8 out of 10.

Slow start then MANY twists and turns

Thought it was as good or better than Cruise's Mission Impossible movies. Loved the plot twists and surprises. Hoping there will be more in the series.

I don't listen to reviews much because we all have different tastes in movies. I thought the movie was very good. Full of action and adventure with a little humor added in. It was nice see a movie without nudity and sex. Great date night movie!

Surprising

I was expecting Mission Improbable but this was anything but improbable. Tight script, very believable, great action (not the usual Hollywood explosions and fireballs), perfect hero, no sex. Horrible crimes portrayed, but not gratuitous. I'm going to be seeing this movie again, and it will join my BR collection, and I'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment.

WOrth going for!

Cruise is NOT one of my favorite actors, but he did a really good job as Jack Reacher. The movie is well written and keeps the audience engaged and guessing up to the end! This is obviously going to be Cruise's newest series of films. Looking forward to the next one!
